A great number of irregular occupation, and slums are assent in the border of the 2nd largest dan in Sao Paulo; an area that should be protected, and occupied with parks and urban beaches. Thinking of that, and in the fact that Sao Paulo is pretty needy of leisure spaces, this project proposed the occupation of an area in the boarder of the dam, with an urban beach; that will work together a Cultural Complex and a Nautical School.

Sao Paulos metropolitans region is supported by a great amount of rivers, and two great dams, but these are underutilized as spaces for the oublic, wich brings problems like irregular occupation.

The complex would have places for practicing sports, squares, pools, saunas; but also educational and cultural areas, like a public library, theater, cinema, and art galleries.

Schematic sections for the pools and galleries.

Since the dam has a great potential, the Complex would work like a initial step to recover the area, and would influence the beaches and parks around to develop. This would protect the area from occupation, and create quality public spaces.

The City Forum was designed to resume the traditional principles of democracy, coming from Greece and Rome, Where the Civic Square was conceived as a space for meeting people and discussing ideas. The square was formed by the void resulting from a series of public buildings. Similarly, the square of the Forum was conceived as a central space surrounded by buildings of different uses.

Just as in the Greek Agora and Roman Forum, the square was the central void formed by a number of civic buildings of specific functions.

In the corner of the land for project deployment are set a group of historic hotel, that should not be removed because of their patrimonial value. The building creates wraps the hotel to integrate it.

The intention was therefore to transform the building into a architecturalsculpture penetrable.

Pnyx

The amphitheater creates a void in the middle of the building, which was inspired by the Pnyx, the place of meeting of the citizens of Athens. The idea is that you can discuss the city from the top of it.

A new use should be perscripted for hotel, so the original slabs were then removed, leaving only the pillars in the walls. These pillars were inlaid with a serie of desencontrant slabs, forming mezzanines in different levels connected by ramps and walkways.

The Museum for Rock comes from the rhythmic composition of simple line, creating volumes, walkways and surfaces that together generate the pulsatile movement of the rock. Downstairs, we developed a new topography from the overlapping of levels and ramps. The main entrance of the museum, facing a square, is made by an inclined plane that aims to bring the space of the square to inside of the building.

Intervention Site: the area around is very heterogenic

An air mattress, set up by a glass skin structure, protects the building temperatures.

Sketches studying the deployment of the museum in the land.

Deployed in an area surrounded by historical buildings, the museum has as goal being more than just an exhibition space, but the attempt to bring vibrancy and fluidity to the site. It is an area for contact of different publics, appropriating the basic idea of the rock of integration and equality, which aims to bring to the region the musicality and alternativity of rock.

Each museum ambiet were designed to represent a decade of the story of the Rock (60s; 70s; 80s...)

Flow scheme: the movement is all done via ramps

The FDE school was entirely thought to have a pre molded concrete structure, so the costs would be minimized and the speed of construction optimized.

Spatial Structures are cheap, allow a fast buildng and also loas of kinds of forms.

The school has a central courtyard covered by a spatial structure of organic form.

Perforated Bricks: tridimensional model

To minimize the effects caused by solar incidence, a specific kind of cobog (perforated bricks) was predicted. Thereby creating more fresh and protected environments.

A model in wood for the brick was developed to phisical tests.

The room is located in a double height ceiling atrium,. A panel of tiles adorns the wall in the back. The studio is enclosed by glass doors integrated to the backyard.

The UME House was developed for a couple of artists and proposes the idea of an integrated studio and residence. It was designed in metal frame and the pillars are all located in the borders of the plans releasing all the ambients. Thus it follows the principles of free plan and free faade, and windows in tape. The house brings airy and bright spaces, contact with the outside and fluidity.

The court would have a new tread design and the internal opening of a cobblestone street

This project proposes the suitability of an area the Pinheiros River banks, that is suffering by the abandon of residents. The main intervention would be the building of a multipurpose court, joining services, businesses, institutional buildings such as schools and lybraries, and the subdivision of lots for the creation of residences.

Spaces for comercial centers, and sheds would also be inserted.

The lines for the benches and tables came from the decomposition of the faces of the cube.
The idea of this project was to create a set of pieces of urban furniture made by of simple geometric shapes such as cubes and spirals. Altogether benches, tables, fountains and lampposts were developed

This design was developed for a tees contests for a Brazilian clothe brand called Vanity Co. The theme was Sao Paulo, My City. The purpose of the initiative was to develop a pattern from the vision that each entry had of the city,

Lives in Sao Paulo and raises a kind of fascination about it. Raised by an arts teacher, she has always been in touch with arts and crafts. She cant remember a time of her life she werent drawing, painting, experimenting or doing anything that could make she feels more artistic. These two passions: cities and arts, took her to the Architecture life.
