ABOUT THE COLLEGE AND DEPARTMENT Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Bangalore-56, which is located near Jnanabharathi Campus, Bangalore University was started by Panchajanya VidyaPeeta Welfare Trust, PVPWT (Regd.) with a mission to explore new frontiers in Technology. The college is spread over an area of 26acres. It is an Autonomous Institution, Accredited by NBA, Affiliated to VTU, Approved by AICTE, and Aided by Govt. of Karnataka. The College has fully equipped laboratories, well stacked library, workshops and spacious furnished classrooms. The college buildings are very well designed, meeting functional needs of classrooms, Computers and Laboratories, Library and workshops. The college has well qualified faculty and staff asper AICTE guidelines and scales of pay, and having rich experience and knowledge motivated to serve student community. The institution was under TEQIP-I grant and now under TEQIP-II sub-component 1.2. The Civil Engineering department was established in the institute in 1980. The department offers BE in Civil Engineering, under academic autonomy, and M.Tech in Structural Engineering, affiliated to VTU, Belgaum. The department has well qualified and experienced faculty. The technical staff are well experienced in the laboratories. Many researchers have registered for their PhD degree both on part time and full time basis in our Research Centre recognized by VTU Belgaum.

ABOUT THE SEMINAR : This National level seminar aims to provide an opportunity for both academic and industrial communities alike to address new trends, challenges, emerging materials and technologies of today. Seminar will feature invited talks/keynote lectures followed by thepresentations of peer reviewed papers. Innovative ideas among under graduate students are also encouraged for presentations. The seminar is expected to serve as a platform for interaction among researchers and professionals working in wide variety of areas in Civil Engineering with a common interest. The keynote speakers include experts from IISc, IITs, NITK, and other reputed Institutions/Organizations/ Industries. Important Dates : Submission of Abstract (one page via email): 10-03-2014 Intimation of Acceptance: 15-03-2014 Submission of Full length papers: 22-03-2014 All Technical/Research papers original in nature are invited from researchers/faculty/students(UG/PG)by email. The peer reviewed and accepted papers will be allowed for presentation during the technical sessions. Undergraduate (UG) students are also encouraged to present/exhibit their innovative ideas through posters. All correspondences will be through email.
