ERASMUS STUDENTS FROM BILGI UNIVERSITY

We found two girls and we asked for a short interview. They were so kind and helpful. 1.Whatre your names? Roxane and Jessica 2.Where are you from? Roxane from France, Jessica from Germany but she was born in Poland.

3.Why did you choose Turkey for Erasmus? Why Bilgi University? Jessicas answer: I chose Turkey because I think, when you studying Sociology, Turkey is a one place where is totally different from Europe about culture and if you want to get something new, stanbul is a great place to have this experience because there is so many different people from all around the world. Roxanes answer: Its pretty much same reason for me because I am studying Political Sciences. It is also about the demonstration and there are so many Political issues here. Also, Europe and here have completely different point of view. Istanbul is really amazing. 4.Do you happy about your school preference? Roxanes answer: Yes. It is lots of things to do. Jessicas answer: I am really happy because I came here for 1 semester and the first day that I came here I decided to stay here for 1 year. People are so kind. 5.Did you learn any Turkish words? Roxanes answer: Yes, a few. We are trying to learn. Jessicas answer: I mean, when you go somewhere and try to buy something everybody ready to help us even they dont know english. 6.Are you satisfeid from Bilgis friends ambient? Jessicas answer: I mean, yes about the Erasmus. They are really open-minded and we have the same situation in here. Also I want to get to know Turkish and Erasmus people, I want to know where they are from, things about Turkey but also there are some people who doesnt want to speak English and know us. Yet, we have already satisfied. 7. What do you think about the cultural integration between Europen Union and Turkey? Roxanes answer: Wow, It is huge question. Jessicas answer: About the cultural integration, right? Because we study Political Sciences. We always have a look discussions about Turkey and Europen Union. There are many cultures also in Europe. I mean, we dont have one culture. There are so many Turkish people already in Europe. So, its not a culture that we dont know. But, I think the problem is not the culture, It is economic things thats why they dont want to talk about it because they afraid of the high economy of Turkey and I think, t is said about the culture but the reason is not culture.
