KEY CONCEPTS: Vicinity Directory, Sending SMS, File Management SUMMARY Chapter 1 discusses the background of the study where in the researchers define what the system is all about. It also gives some knowledge on how the project will be operational followed by the research locale that graphically and the existence of the target location. The problem definition is shown in tabular form and clearly identifies the problem, its cause and effect on the people involved. The objective of the study is connected to the problem definition and is written in bullet form. It shows what knowledge the researchers will need as they go further in the development of the project. The scope and limitation of the system was interpreted according to the IPO Chart that can be seen in chapter 3. It tackles the possible operation of the system and its scope and function. The beneficiaries of the system including the people who might be dealing with the system are shown in the scope and limitation. Lastly, both technical and operational definition of terms are included and their meanings. In the same way, chapter 2 discusses the review of related literature, related studies, related systems and some theories coming from the different sources that would help the researchers in conducting the research ad develop the project. The database will help the researchers to understand how the database is stored. Database is the organized way of keeping information in specific records. The entities are the persons that will be involved in the system. They have attributes that will connect them to create a well-organized record. The study of Management Information Systems helps the researchers to widen their knowledge on how the system will be cooperative. The mapping helps the researchers to visualize the future creation for the visitors. The Global System for Mobile Communication helps the researchers to know what the operation of the GSM is and how will it help in the development of the proposed system. Chapter 3 presents the discussion of analysis and design tools, strategy of proponents for the development of the study, the system development which consists of system requirements and systems design. The requirements for the software and system are clearly shown. The IPO Chart explains how the system will be processed and what the possible inputs that the system will operate are. The event table must be connected to the dataflow diagram to show the duties of each entity to the system. The official name and logo of the system is also included in this chapter and the screen design that will serve as the user interface.

In chapter 4 after the proponents have finished the Barangay Management Information and Vicinity Directory System on evaluation was made to see if it is acceptable for the End -users and Expert-users The highest total mean I got from security criteria and with the lowest mean is for reliability. To sum up, with a total mean of 3.84 for the overall systems evaluation the system is considered as unsure and has met the objectives of the system. In chapter 5, based from the results in the evaluation, the proponents have concluded that the Barangay Management Information and Vicinity Directory System is effective. The objectives of the system are met as well as the needs of the barangay. For the future development of the system, recommendations were made.
