CHAPTER IV DATA ANALYSIS AND RESEARCH FINDINGS

This chapter presents the data analysis such as the name of the students, the students score of pre-test and post-test in both Experiment and Control group, the reliability of the test, the mean and the hypothesis of the sample.

4.1 Data The data of this study were the students reading comprehension marks which collected during the Pre-test and Post- test gi en. There were sixty students in ol ed in this study. The students were di ided into two groups, the Experimental group and Control group. The following are the results of the Pre-test and Post-test of two groups.

"fter applying the pre-test and post-test to the Experimental group, it was gained the students score from the data which had been collected. The highest and the lowest per-test scores in the Experimental group were &(,& and #+, while in the post-test were )#,& and %& ,see "ppendix E-. Table 4.1.+ Result of Pre-test a ! "fter applying the pre-test and post-test to the Control group, it was gained the students score from the data which had been collected. The highest and the lowet pre-test scores in the Control group were $#,& and (,& while in the post-test were &#,& and #+ ,see "ppendix E-

4.+ Data A al,s$s The data analysis of pre-test and post-test in both group, Experimental and Control group are computed by applying test formula to pro e the hypothesis . this study. The table shows that the result of pre-test scores was obtained by the students of Experimental group. .t was found that the lowest score was #+ and the highest was &(,&. Then after the post-test was administrated, the lowest score was impro ed to %& ,%&-#+/#&-. .t meant the difference of the score was #&. The highest score was also impro ed to )#,& , )#,&- #&/&(,&-. .t meant the difference of the score was &(,&. The result of pre-test scores was obtained by the students of Control group. .t was found that the lowest score was (,& and the highest was $#,&. Then after the post-test was administrated, the lowest score was impro ed to ##,& ,##,&-(,&/!&-. it mean the difference of the

score was !&.the highest score was also impro ed to&#,& ,&#,&-$#,&/#+-. .t mean the difference of the score was #+. The formula of t-test and distribution table of the critical alues used to see wheter the hypothesis is accepted or re:ected. The basic for testing hypothesis is as follows 0 ;a is accepted if the alue of t-obs< the t-table. 8ased on the calculation of the t-test , it shows that the alue of tobs is &,() while the ttable is !,'(! at the le el of significance +,+& with df &). ,see "ppendix 4-. The results shows that tobs higher than ttsble it can be seen as follows 0 tobs < ttable &,()<!,'(! ,P/ +,+&- with df &) ,P/ +,+&- with df &)

"fter the post-test was administrated on the Experimental group, the lowest an gighest score in pre-test were impro ed significantly. $. "fter the post-test was administrated on the Experimental group, the lowest and highest score in pre-test were impro ed but it was more significantly than the Control group.

8ased on the explanation abo e, it was found that both of Experimental and Control group was impro ed more significantly , !& and #+ - than the Experimental =6>?P ,#& and &( -. ;ence the result of the calculation of the t-test showed that the alue tobs was lower than the alue of the table ,&,()<!,'(!-.
