1. Teacher asks pupils if they ever seen a Set Induction (5 mins) caterpillar before. 2. Teacher asks pupils to relax and enjoy the video titled The Very Hungry Caterpillar. ( The very hungry caterpillar.flv )

1. After the pupils watched the video, teacher tells the pupils that today, they will be learning about nouns. 2. Teacher asks pupils what they know about noun. 3. Teacher shows the Noun Charts according to its category. ( Noun Chart.pptx ) 4. Teacher explains about nouns and the noun categories to the pupils. Presentation (20 mins) Noun of places Noun of things/living things Noun of people Expected answers; Most of the pupils do not know or understand about noun.

5. Teacher shows the complete story texts of The Very Hungry Caterpillar to the pupils using powerpoint presentation. ( The Very Hungry Caterpillar.pptx ) 6. Teacher asks pupils if they can recognize any nouns from the story. 7. Teacher picks pupils randomly to give example/s of noun/s that he/she found in the story.

1. Teacher divides pupils into a group of four. 2. Teacher distributes envelopes containing sentence strips of the story, two manila cards and marker pen to each group. 3. Teacher instructs each group to arrange the sentence strips in correct order and paste it on Practice (20 mins) the manila card given. 4. Teacher asks each group to write by using the story as a model and modifies it by replacing the foods (nouns) with other appropriate or suitable foods. (Modeled Writing) 5. Teacher asks each group to present their written work in front of the class. 6. Teacher discuss the answers of each group with the class.

1. Teacher distributes worksheets to the class. (substitution table.docx) 2. Teacher asks pupils to write sentences from the substitution table given in the worksheet. 3. Teacher asks pupils to exchange their worksheet with their peers. 4. Teacher asks pupils to compare their peers Production (10 mins) answer by referring to the suggested answers shown on the projection screen. (substitution table (Production).pptx) 5. Teacher asks pupils to pass up their worksheet when they have finished.

1. Teacher shows the video of The Very Hungry Caterpillar one more time. (The very hungry caterpillar.flv) 2. Teacher asks pupils whether they enjoy the story. Conclusion (5 mins) 3. Teacher refreshes what the pupils have learnt today. 4. Teacher sums up todays lesson by telling them that if they see a cocoon, do not disturb it because it might soon turn into a beautiful butterfly.
