This has been a long break after the Arya Satakam in 2002. Personal
preoccupations puts pressure on time and external commitments some
times puts break in the inner evolution. A work that was started at the
behest Bala Swami of Kanchi mutt, in a slow gait as slow as the gait of
Kamakshi as described by the extraordinary Mooka Kavi has traversed to
the best of its abilities the Padaravinda Satakam. Let that divine reddish
hued feet Guide us throughout our life.
When one is in the sublime mode of ultimate surrender it is always the
divine feet rules the heart and mind of the seeker. Here to the kavi after
his very descriptive Arya Satakam, the Kavi moves on to Padaravinda
Satakam. As you move from Arya to Padara vinda satakam the striking
beauty of the prolific poetic flow just drowns the reader and the reciter in
the wave of tsunamis from the ocean of surrender that has burst forth.
Kalidasa and Mooka kavi are the blessed two, who attained the grace by
the Tamboola uchishta and dissolved in Her through poetry.
As the kavi himself sings in the closings of the Satakam as parinamathi
chitroopakala. The aspiration of the seeker is to merge with no duality in
the divine is the mark of the true bakta. Such seekers are the select
ordained ones. The outpourings of them are beyond the comprehension
and reach of mere mortals. It is their experience and vision of the divine
which comes out That is the guiding flow which lifts the seekers like us
to read, savor and seek aspire at least for that experience at least for one
moment is our life. Any effort is only an attempt and can never bring out
the true and original tone unless he or She becomes that. Then words
and works have no place only the divine exists and none else. Still as the
first steps of the child a small beginning is made to dissolve the avarana,
the veil of maya between oneself and that supreme divine. May the grace
and blessings of the ever-bountiful Mother be on those who read the
original and this little effort of translation.
