Célia Mara, sings, composes and arranges her songs – she is a 21st. century singer - songwriter, working on an
acoustic and electronic base, oriented towards a global world. The Diaspora-Brazilian and Viennese by choice
creates an acoustic-electronic link between Afro- and Latin roots, European Club sounds, ballads, Reggae and
Rock, Funk, Ethno-Pop and Rap…
Célia Mara’s charismatic voice and the eclectic but typically Brazilian mixture made bastardista be defined by the
press as a new vision of Brazilian Diaspora music. Bastardista entered straight ahead in the Top 10 of the
European World Music Charts, was ranked various times among the „best of the year, best of the week“
selections in different countries and got amazing reviews in the international music-press. Various tracks from
bastardista were compiled on excellent releases or remixed by well known DJ’s (Kid Loco, Frankie Valentine…)
Célia Mara won the 2006 export award "COPA DA CULTURA – Brazil & Germany" by the Brazilian Ministry of
Culture.…
But that's not all: with her live project, she performed on various huge festivals in Europe, in Russia and on big
stages and selected clubs between Vienna, London, Moscow, Sofia and Praha – from London’s Cargo to the
Vienna Opera House. Célia Mara simply stands with her music for a borderless society.
