The efficient condensing technology takes care of the careful handling of the precious energy source, fuel oil.

Crude oil is a raw material that will only continue to be available for a limited time. However, crude oil reserves that are viable to be recovered today should still last for another 40 years, even taking the development of consumption trends over the coming decades into account. In other words, fuel oil will still be available far beyond the useful life of a new oil heating system. Apart from that, there is no alternative to the frugal handling of this precious fuel. Advanced condensing technology offers a solution that, with an efficiency factor of up to 98percent [to DIN], achieves the highest level of energy efficiency. Oil condensing boilers from Viessmann are already prepared for alternative sustainable fuels and can be operated with bio-oil mixtures. Viessmann offers a comprehensive range for oil in three categories, including highly efficient low temperature and condensing boilers in cast iron and steel, as both oorstanding and wall mounted versions. Highly efficient condensing technology Permanent maximum energy utilisation is guaranteed by the oorstanding and wall mounted oil condensing boilers from Viessmann. Only stainless steel heat exchangers are used for additional energy recovery from the condensation of hot gases. The Inox-Radial heat exchanger, with its laminar heat transfer principle, achieves the highest energy efficiency.

The use of highly alloyed stainless steel makes the heating surfaces permanently resistant to corrosion and material wear, independent of the actual fuel oil quality. The smooth stainless steel surfaces prevent deposits and the self-cleaning effect is also assisted by the vertical layout and correctly aligned ow of the hot gases and condensate. In the output range from 10.3 to 28.9kW, Vitoladens300-C condensing boilers are available with a stepped or modulating Compact blue ame burner. The burner adjusts its output to the prevailing heat demand and is extremely frugal and quiet, aided by its internal silencer. The blue ame burner enhances the utilisation of condensing technology in partial load operation and ensures clean combustion. Today, oil condensing boilers are already prepared for the use of bio-oil. With an advanced condensing boiler from Viessmann, gas consumption can be reduced by up to 30percent.

Viessmann gas condensing boilers achieve a conversion of almost 100 percent of the fuel into usable heating energy. Compared to an old heating system, an advanced condensing boiler can reduce gas consumption by up to 30percent. Permanently high efficiency with condensing technology High-alloy stainless steel is used for all condensing boilers and heat exchangers. That translates into permanent protection against corrosion and material wear. Inox-Crossal and Inox-Radial heat exchangers ensure highly efficient heat transfer during the entire operation. The modulating MatriX gas burners and MatriX cylinder burners ensure clean combustion with particularly low NOx emissions. Heating with gas and natural heat The Vitosorp200-F gas adsorption heat pump combines the benets of heating with gas and those of utilising natural heat. The combination of gas condensing boiler and adsorption heat pump reduces gas consumption by around 25percent, compared with conventional condensing technology. This raises the seasonal efficiency [to DIN] up to 134percent (Hi) [net cv]. This saves fuel and protects the environment. The Vitosorp200-F heating centre is particularly suitable for detached and twofamily houses. The wide modulation range of 1:9 (1.6 to 15kW) also makes this appliance suitable for low energy and passive houses.

Powerful right up to 150kW Where the highest efficiency and longest service life are required, stainless steel is the rst choice. Never has this applied more, than to the Vitodens200-W in the upper output range. This new heating centre, with its output of 125 and 150kW, was specically designed for commercial applications. For great customer expectations Apart from Vitorond and Vitoplex cast iron and steel boilers, Viessmann supplies Vitocrossal200 and Vitocrossal300 gas condensing boilers, as well as Vitotrans300 ue gas/water heat exchangers and a seamless range of stainless steel condensing technology up to an output of 6000kW. Boilers red by logs, woodchips and pellets, as well as biomass CHP units up to 50MW output, are also part of our range. Now HKB has become a member of the Viessmann Group, we are able to extend our range to include the design and construction of turnkey steam and hot water boiler plants.

This company manufactures boilers with an output of up to 120t/h or 116MW. Higher output can be achieved by linking individual boilers into cascades. Efficient heat and power generation with combined heat and power units
With its combined heat and power units, Viessmann covers all requirements for environmentally responsible heating with natural gas, biogas and biomethane.

An advanced gas driven combined heat and power unit (CHP) generates both electricity and heat simultaneously. On the heating side, the CHP unit operates in parallel with a boiler. Both heat generators are connected to the heating system to generate heating water and DHW. The Vitobloc200 are designed as decentralised CHP units with a bias towards heating. These comparatively small units generate electricity for consumption on site. The heat that is generated by this process is used simultaneously, almost without losses, for heating. Any power not required is exported into the public grid. The Vitobloc200 output can reach 401kWel. Long maintenance intervals of up to 6000 hours further improve the economy. A heating system that generates power The compact Vitotwin350-F micro CHP unit is particularly suitable for modernising detached houses. It takes up little space, covers the heat demand of the building and, at the same time, generates power for consumption on site. This reduces annual electricity bills signicantly. The oorstanding enclosure houses the Stirling engine, a gas condensing boiler as peak load boiler and a 175l heating water buffer cylinder. Even with a small buffer volume, the modulating Stirling engine enables long runtimes.

Adding a DHW cylinder with at least 200l capacity makes the installation eligible for public subsidies (in Germany). Integral system separation makes deployment in an existing system possible without need for additional components (such as for water treatment, for example). Power demand at the press of a button A press of a button on the remote control is all that is needed to use home-generated power for appliances such as the washing machine, for example. If required, an individual program can be created with a time switch.

BIOFerm is the dry fermentation plant specialist. This company makes a real contribution to CO2 neutral energy generation with its innovative technologies.
Primary energy from biowaste and cuttings is eco-friendly, renewable and CO2 neutral in its generation. Little is demanded of the source material. Foodstuffs and fodder are not used for producing biogas. Turning biomass into valuable energy The BIOFerm process is based on the dry fermentation principle employed to digest biomass. Any organic solids that can be tipped can be used, such as biowaste, cuttings and manure with up to 60percent dry matter. No sorting out of fouling matter nor pre-treatment of the biomass required. The innovative BIOFerm system enables biomass to be utilised with minimum effort and energy. The fermentation process inside the biogas plants is split over individual digesters, where the biomass is fermented (digested) under the exclusion of air. This process guarantees constantly high gas yields with a methane content that sometimes exceeds 60percent. The biogas produced can be ungraded to biomethane and injected into the gas grid or can be converted into heat and power in a CHP unit. The generated power can be exported into the grid and the thermal energy can, for example, be utilised in local heating networks. Source of income for waste/composting operations and the food processing industry Apart from energy yields, any fermentation residues can be used as fertiliser in agriculture or processed as high grade compost or soil. This is supported by standard controls, a large backlit graphic display with several plain text lines, a high contrast monochrome depiction and a contextsensitive help function accessible via the "?" key. Special functions, such as heating curve, solar yield in connection with the SM1 solar controller and switching times are depicted graphically. With integral solar control function The Vitotronic200 controls applications with solar central heating backup, two heating circuits with mixer and one directly connected heating circuit. The SM1 solar control module can be used with all oorstanding oil and gas boilers, as well as all wall mounted boilers for solar DHW heating and central heating backup; it can also be used in connection with the Vitotronic300-K cascade control unit. Reheating suppression raises the efficiency In heating systems with solar DHW and central heating the reheating suppression of the Vitotronic control unit contributes to higher efficiency. For this, the control unit

takes the amount of DHW heated by the solar thermal system during the last 24 hours into account and suppresses unnecessary reheating by the heat generator if similar conditions can be expected. The boiler only starts if the water inside the DHW cylinder falls below a certain minimum temperature. Vitotronic300-K cascade control The Vitotronic300-K type MW2B control unit is designed for multi boiler systems and cascades of wall mounted gas boilers. Depending on application, the control unit can also be supplied for installation in a control panel. The current status of up to eight Vitodens 200-W is clearly shown on the default screen in graphic form. As an option, up to two mixer controllers can be retrotted. The hardwired Vitotrol200 and Vitotrol300 remote control units, as well as the wireless versions Vitotrol200 RF and 300RF, offer a convenient means of operating the Vitotronic from anywhere in the building. Not only is the hardwired outside temperature sensor available, but also a light-activated wireless outside temperature sensor, depending on the installed control unit version.

Vitotronic300-K system control As a supplement to the existing cascade control program, the Vitotronic300-K (type MW3B) has been designed for dual mode and multi mode systems with up to eight heat generators in the output range from 100kW to 1MW. As an option, the new control unit offers the integration of CHP units and solid fuel boilers when combined with heating water buffer cylinders. Integral buffer management, with up to ve temperature sensors, provides the best possible buffer charging. This range is rounded off by extending the existing Vitotronic100 boiler control unit. With the integral system ow temperature control, it enables the switching in series of appliances in conjunction with CHP units or solid fuel boilers. The variable speed control of HE pumps facilitates the accurate control of the target temperature for buffer charging. Vitotrol300RF wireless remote control The Vitotrol300RF wireless remote control puts the control of its heating system always within reach of users. The large colour touch display and the clear function elds make operation even simpler. The Vitotrol300RF is placed into a charging dock inside the living space and picked up for convenient operation. The Vitotrol300RF can control up to three heating circuits with operating programs, set room temperatures, the party and economy mode, holiday programs and switching times via its touch display. If a solar thermal system is linked into the heating system, the solar yield is also graphically displayed by the SM1 solar control module.

Vitotrol app The Vitotrol app for operating heating systems is available for iPhone, iPad and iPodtouch as well as tested android appliances. The individually programmable "Coming/Going function" helps to save energy and improves security. The domestic control centre features an integral diagnosis function for all wireless components. All settings are saved automatically to an SD card, meaning they are not lost, even if there is a power failure. Vitocomfort app The Vitocomfort200 can be operated and checked from anywhere via iPhone or iPad thanks to its integrated LAN/WLAN. It includes a single temperature and DHW control function, amongst others such as switching on lights, electricity metering and the setting of individual scenario programs. The Vitocomfort app also improves the security of a house or at. It indicates, for example, if a window or door is left open or whether a smoke or motion detector has been activated.

Hydraulic balancing: Automatic, quick and easy in existing buildings too

Automatic hydraulic balancing for radiator circuits can now be implemented with all Viessmann heat generators up to 150kW without specialist knowledge.

The automatic hydraulic balancing optimises the settings of the integral pumps and the heating curve. As a result, all radiators are supplied with the heat required for the respective rooms. This can reduce energy consumption by up to 15percent and CO2 emissions too. Time saved through easy process The Heating System Regulations and VOB [Germany] specify the hydraulic balancing of heating systems. This process is made signicantly easier by automation. The time required for presetting a system with ten radiators barely takes 30 minutes, which is a fraction of the time usually taken. Together with a laptop, contractors only need the Viessmann service case with wireless actuators, one extension kit (subject to heat generator and heating system) and the Vitosoft300 service software. Certied balancing for eligibility of subsidies Initially, the contractor enters space-specic details, such as heat load, radiator size and type of thermostatic valves. Then, the thermostatic valve actuators installed on site are replaced by the marked wireless service actuators, after which the test procedure is started via the Vitosoft300, which operates automatically. After completion of the certied process, the pre-settings for each radiator valve are reported by the Vitosoft300 in hard copy form. This provides the user with the necessary verication to be submitted with any application for KfW subsidies. The determined values are then transferred to the thermostatic valves, and the actuators are retted.

The Viessmann Academy offers future-oriented training and further education options for our industry sector.

The Viessmann Academy accommodates the constantly rising demand for training from its trade partners by running various information and training programmes. These programmes include lectures on the fundamentals of hydraulics and hydraulic balancing, as well as training sessions on conventional and new technologies. In order to demonstrate new and more efficient solutions to different target groups and to dismantle old prejudices, the Academy offers trade seminars at its Allendorf and Berlin information centres, as well as at every sales office. Heating contractors and master tradesmen receive information specically related to Viessmann products and technologies to aid their selling efforts. Information on practical applications are the focus for service engineers and tters. Certication programmes run by the Academy offer opportunities to demonstrate acquired knowledge to third parties and to apply these competencies specically to end customers' needs. E-learning and mobile academy Training sessions are no longer limited to lecture halls. E-learning via the internet offers the possibility of calling up teaching content at any time. Certain modules are especially geared towards the rapid dissemination of important information, such as new product characteristics or modications. To complete one E-learning module from the Viessmann Academy can take as little as 20 minutes. First tests with the Vitotwin300-W micro CHP unit were successful and complement the more traditional technical seminars. Building Energy Economy Check The Viessmann Building Energy Economy Check provides all the answers you need before modernisation can go ahead. This tool is integrated in the free Vitodesk100 software. Only few items of information need to be entered into a PC or tablet to reach the required result. Beforehand, users have the choice of putting the heating system or the energy aspects of the building at the centre of their calculation. A combination of both is possible. Straightforward entry of the building envelope Logging the building envelope could hardly be easier, as entering the dimensions of one oor and the number of oors is all that is required. Details on existing buildings are determined by the age of the building applying DIN 12831. Later modernisation measures can be entered, such as replacement windows. Comparison of different versions Up to four different versions can be compared in order to determine savings in consumption, costs and CO2 emissions. This includes a comparison of different fuels also in conjunction with a solar thermal system. Cost-benet analysis The Building Energy Economy Check includes a viability calculation. It determines the time in which the investment is amortised based on the total costs per annum and the outlay for the modernisation version.
