1.The litre of water weighs more, and this is why ice floats in water.

When water freezes, it expands and becomes becomes less dense. While it is true that most things are more dense in their solid state, it is not true of water

2. When you drink liquid through a straw, it is more accurate to say the liquid is pushed up the straw rather than sucked up the straw. What exactly does the pushing?
By sucking you reduce the air pressure in the straw that is place in a drink. Atmospheric pressure on the liquid's surface pushes liquid up into the reduced-pressure region. Strictly speaking the liquid is not sucked up; it is pushed up by the pressure of the atmosphere. 3. When an air bubble rises in water, what happens to it mass, volume and density? Ans. Mass remains constant, its volume will increase and therefore its density will decrease. 4. Immersed means partially in water and submerged means completely covered. 5. The egg is denser than the fresh water (more molecules per square inch), this causes it to sink. When you start dissolving salt in the water, this is increasing the density (adding more molecules per square inch). Eventually the water becomes denser than the egg causing the egg to float. When you carefully add fresh water again, this fresh water is less dense than the salt water so it floats right on top! 6. When using a knife, you put the knife on a surface that needs to be cut, and then you apply a force on the knife. This force that you are applying on the knife puts pressure on the knife, which also puts pressure on the thing that's being cut. According to the formula above for pressure, the smaller the area (A), the greater the pressure that can be exerted. Since the area (A) corresponds to the sharpness of the knife, the sharper the knife, the greater the pressure that can be exerted. This makes it easier to cut things

7. The Diet Coke can floats because the sugar they put in regular Coke has been substituted by a lighter (less dense) substance (a healthier type of sweetness). The sugar is much denser that theartificial sweetener, so the Coke sinks and the Diet Coke floats. 8. Since density is defined as the mass of a unit volume of material, you would measure the volume of the rock by putting it into a container half filled with water and Then determine the volume by displacement of water 9.

3. Turbulent flow is different from laminar flow when it comes to the speed of liquid flow. The speed at which laminar flow is slow while turbulent flow occurs at a great speed. Turbulent flow is also characterized by swirling motion of liquid. laminar flow is an ideal flow type in which all the
liquid pariticles at a given point travel in a straight line anduniform velocity[mostly thoeretical], but turbulent is an zig-zag type of flow with varying velocity and phase[most practical].. 4.
