Electrical-Grade Dielectric Switchboard Matting, ASTM D 178, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.137, is a floor matting product, which is used to insulate workers from electrocution by interrupting the path to ground. Switchboard Matting is typically used around electrified equipment where operational and maintenance workers stand. ASTM D178 is the specification used for Switchboard Matting in industrial and manufacturing environments. It is also used by Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) and Naval Public Works Facilities (NAVPWC) in US Navy industrial applications, and other Department of Defense and US Government agencies. Switchboard Matting is manufactured from dielectric materials, which are electrically non-conductive. The dielectric strength of the matting is defined, in the specification, by various Types and Classes. Dielectric Switchboard Matting, ASTMD 178, protects workers in way of low, medium and high voltage electrical potentials, as outlined in the specification. Its Corrugated (ribbed) surface provides a comfortable, resilient, anti-fatigue type surface to stand on. For US Navy, NATO and Military Specification Switchboard Matting, please click MILDTL-15562G

SOLID BLACK ASTM The American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) is the author of the specification ASTM D 178-01. ASTM is the Recognized Standards Authority in the USA, and other countries, for dielectric switchboard matting used in industrial environments. OSHA OSHA has defined Switchboard Matting as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)in the Code of Federal Regulations, 29 CFR 1910.137 Electrical Protective Devices, and recommends the use of ASTM D 178 matting. OSHA has defined Yellow as the basic color for designating Caution in the Code of Federal Regulations, 29 CFR 1910.144 Safety Color Code For Marking Physical Hazards and recommends Yellow for designating or marking physical hazards such as stumbling, falling and tripping. Also see OSHA, Code of Federal Regulations, 29 CFR 1910.269, Appendix C, Special Industries, Protection from Step and Touch Potentials for additional information.
Quality Assurance Purchase Orders for Switchboard Matting, ASTM D 178, should require written Certification to the Current Revision of the specification. Certificates should be readily available to OSHA, Risk Management and Insurance Company inspection personnel.

As we known, rubber is very good for electric insulation. It used in many electrical safety equipment and device to protect person from electric shocked.Rubber mats is a rubber sheet commonly used at sub station and control panel. The main purpose is to cover and insulate floors from electric path away to the earth and to avoid completed circuit when current flow in human body.It can save our life from electric shock when perform electrical task. We must ensure the rubber mats have a quality and follow electrical regulation standard and specification. Please checked the rubber mats condition and apparent it is in good shape to avoid any injuries or death causes when electric shockhappened.

WHY ESD ?
Have you ever walked across a carpeted floor and gotten a shock when you touched a doorknob, table, counter, or even another person? That little shock you got was a result of static electricity. It was also many times what is needed to destroy some computer components. You see, humans can't feel a static shock until it is several thousand volts strong, but it takes less than 30 volts to damage a sensitive computer component, such as a stick of RAM or a processor. That's why computer technicians and home computer builders have to guard their computers against the deadly ravages of static electricity, as well as take steps to avoid injury to yourself. A shock that you can't even feel can seriously damage your homebuilt computer before you're even finished building it. Outstanding Protection from Static Induced Damage to Mission Critical Data, Networks, Servers and Computers
Sophisticated electronics such as computer are manufactured in an ESD (static controlled) environment for a very good reason: To insure reliable production and reduce failures in the finished products. These same manufacturers have worked diligently to shield your sensitive microelectronics from the damaging effects of electrostatics in the end user market, yet user induced static discharge continues to be a proven cause of computer related problems. Minimal static discharges (below the threshold of human perception) often cause occasional (yet annoying) glitches while more powerful discharges (> 2,500 volts) wreak havoc, causing network instability, damage to micro electronics, corrupted data and lost production. The question is not IF static can damage the integrity of your electronics but WHEN. It's just not worth the risk .
industry. Numerous technical articles, awareness seminars, and preventive products are readily accessible to industry. The cause, effect, and solution to ESD is widely accepted and well documented. Why, then, is it so difficult for engineers to convince management to provide the funds essential for establishing an in-house static program? Many times, ESD-control programs do not measure up to the anticipated objectives, or even more disheartening, are completely ineffective. To a wide extent, these programs never really had a fighting chance; they were doomed from inception. A major manufacturer of computer peripherals was quite proud of its ESD program and was not shy to point out its considerable expenditure.

Method of calculation :( with non standard size order ) + 3% cutting cost of total product price . If you required a total length of non standard size , like example , 14M with width 1 m , a) unit price is RM290 ( refer to category No. 3 unit price ) x 14 m = RM 4,060.00 , b) Price of RM 4,060.00 + Cutting cost 3% of total price ( RM 121.80 ) = RM 4181.80 . b) for 14 m length , you need 2 rolls ( 2 rolls x 6m x 1m ) of Model : GS-SMG 3A and 1 non standard piece of 2 meters Length . ( Cash & Carry , Ex-Factory ). ( with standard size order ) If you required a total standard length of 18M with width 1 m , a) unit price per roll ( pc ) is RM1,710.00 / roll ( refer to category No. 6 unit price ) , b) for 18 m length , you need 3 rolls , c) RM 1,810 x 3 rolls = RM 5,430.00 , ( 3 rolls x 6m x 1 m ) of Model : GS-SMG 3A .
