NATCO Glymine Gas Treating Systems

GAS

Glymine is used to economically remove CO2 and reduce downstream dehydration requirements
NATCOs Glymine system is ideal for gas streams containing carbon dioxide in quantities that exceed pipeline specifications, but which cannot be treated economically with amine treating. The process is an adaptation of the glycol/ amine process, except it is not intended to simultaneously treat and dehydrate. It does, however, maintain or slightly lower the water dew point of the feed gas. Thus, downstream dehydration requirements may be significantly reduced, compared to that required when using conventional amine treating processes.

Applications
G as streams containing CO2 above pipeline specifications that cannot be justifiably treated with other equipment. C O2 floods for initial gas treatment prior to installation of more complicated and expensive processes, i.e., early carbon dioxide breakthrough. Fuel gas treatment for Btu enhancement.

Advantages
Glymine units have important, cost-saving advantages over standard amine systems:
Figure 1 Approximate capacities for standard NATCO Glymine units
NATCO Glymine systems require less expensive equipment than conventional Amine systems, which contributes to their economy

No electrical power Simple to operate Minimum operator attention Fewer controls R esemble standard glycol reconcentration equipment L ess capital and operating costs per MMscfd treated gas Reduce dehydration requirements

Sizes
In addition to custom designs four sizes are available: Gly 1.5 Gly 3.5 Gly 7.5 Gly 15 45 90 gph 180 210 gph 420 450 gph 450 900 gph

Design
Figure 1 is a capacity-sizing chart for standard NATCO Glymine units. It may be used to select the approximate size unit for a given application. Due to various field requirements, unit design and sizing should be confirmed by the Cameron Engineering Department.
