1.0 Introduction

Digital Money Trees is based on a very simple philosophy Do the least amount of work
necessary, to make the most amount of money possible.

Too many people are stuggling to make money online because they have a very narrow
minded view. If they are still working in a JOB, then they cant see the posibilities that lie
beyond. If they have already started dabbling in Internet Marketing then many spend their
time like magpies chasing shiny objects.

If they are Internet Marketers that have become a little bit more established then they are
stuck in the great Traffic paradox. They are so consumed by the need for traffic that they
over look some critical fundamentals that need to be in place before traffic is even
considered.

Regardless what level you are at, the single most important consideration is the system. A
system is defined as A group of interacting, interrelated, or interdependent elements forming
a complex whole.

From an Internet Marketing perspective there are numerous systems that the majority of
Internet Marketers focus on:

These include:
Blogging and Authority Sites
Single Sale Product Launches e.g. eBook, WordPress Plugins
Membership Sites
Cost Per Action CPA
Google Adsense Sites on CPC Model
Sniper Sites / Review Sites
Affiliate Marketing
Website Flipping
Offline Marketing
Social Media Consulting

Done correctly all of these are viable from a moneymaking perspective, but a very specific
combination is required to fit our philosophy of maximum return, minimum effort.

Too many Internet Marketers dabble in one or two different systems without any game plan.
They may have heard from a reputable marketer that blogging is the way to go or that they
should focus on affiliate marketing. The problem however is that they dont know where
these systems fit in the context of Internet Business Models.

You need to start with the business model that suits your needs, and then pick a system from
within that business model, not the other way around.

5
You need to realize that writing an eBook, building a membership site, or doing CPA are but
a tiny fraction of the possibilities that are open to you.

Too many Internet Marketers have a narrow mindset. They are all focused on one tiny area
be that Kindle Books or Review Sites. As a result some of these systems are extremely
competitive, and just not as lucrative as other systems.

In order to broaden your horizons, Im now going to delve into the different type of business
models that exist when it comes to making money online. Ill be dropping the names of some
Big Brands that are dominating those models, but dont let that put you off. Huge
opportunities exist for different spin offs, complimentary services or even direct competitors
offering a new tweak.

I will then move onto two Business Models that I believe you should focus your efforts on in
order to benefit from our philosophy of maximum return, minimum effort.

So lets get started!

6
2.0 Business Model Comparison

1. The Brokerage Model
2. The Infopreneur Model
3. The Advertising Model
4. The Merchant Model
5. The Affiliate Model
6. The Subscription Model
7. The Utility model
8. The Community Model

2.1 The Brokerage Model

Brokers create market places that facilitate transactions between buyers and seller.

The Brokerage Model can take many different forms including:

Transaction Broker: provides an independent payment mechanism that facilitates
transactions between buyers and sellers. The market leader in this field is Paypal.com who
charge a fee per transaction. However clever spin offs include the newly launched
Stripe.com show there is plenty of scope for viable competitors.

Auction Broker: conducts auctions on behalf of the seller, which enables buyers to bid for
any given product / service. The auction broker charges the seller a listing fee, and a
commission commensurate to the value of the transaction. The market leader in this field is
eBay. However eBay got greedy with fee hikes and now they are hemorrhaging market share
to competitors such as Bonanza.com, MadBid.com and ebid.net.

Virtual Marketplace: provides digital store fronts for online merchants that often include
relationship, payment facilities, customer and marketing services for the merchant. Examples
include Amazons Merchant Services. Amazon may be the 500-pound gorilla but that didnt
stop new entrants differentiating by geography and scope. Consider Irish site DoneDeal.ie.
They charge a small fee for a product listing in hundreds of categories, and their business is
soaring.

Search Agent: a search agent is a software service or robot that aggregates information, and
pinpoints items of interest according to specific criteria. A perfect example would be
Hotels.com that finds the best hotels at the best prices.

7
2.2 The Infopreneur Model

The term Infopreneur was coined by H. Skip Weitzen in his book Infopreneur. He
describes an Infopreneur as a person who gathers, organizes, and disseminates information
as a business venture or as a value added service.

The Infopreneur Model refers to the creation and sale of information-based products. This
would encompass everything from eBooks to content based membership sites.

This is one of the most popular business model pursued by Internet marketers. It can be a
great model to get started because the risks are low in terms of upfront capital investment.
However a great deal of time needs to be expended in order to create the content, and
furthermore to maintain it to ensure it is kept relevant and up to date.

Applications of the Infopreneur Model include:
eBook authors selling their eBooks on Clickbank, Kindle, iBook, Nook and industry
specific sites such as the Warrior Forum (for Internet Marketers).

Marketers who create video based courses and sell them to their target market via
platforms like Kajabi.

List Marketers who write information rich email content, and monetize it by
including links to purchase their own products or affiliate products

Bloggers who write information rich blog posts, and monetize organic SEO traffic via
banner ads and inter content affiliate links

Authority Site owners who create information rich content focused on a very specific
niche, and monetize organic SEO traffic via banner ads and inter content affiliate
links

Review Sites that create content designed to attract buyer keyword traffic from the
search engines, and pre-sell that traffic on a particular product or service, routed
through their affiliate links

2.3 The Advertising Model

The advertising model is deployed when a marketer creates a website that attracts visitors,
and displays marketing messages to these visitors in the form of banner ads, text ads, direct
response ads, video ads or some other ad based content.

8
The bait used by the marketer usually involves content, a service, or a mix of both. Content-
based marketers using the Advertising Model would include sites like Rotten.com and
YouTube.com.

Service based sites using the Advertising Model would include sites like Gmail.com,
POF.com, and Facebook.com.

The advertising model is most successful when the volume of viewer traffic is large or highly
targeted.

Different applications of this model include:

Portals a search engine that includes varied content or services e.g. Yahoo.

Classifieds List items for sale or wanted for purchase e.g. Craigslist, DoneDeal.ie

Query Based Paid Placement sells favorable link positioning e.g. Sponsored Links

Contextual Ads sells targeted ads based on an individual users surfing activities e.g.
Gmail ads, InstantBuzz

Intromercials - animated full-screen ads placed at the entry of a site before a user
reaches the intended content e.g. CBS Marketwatch

Banner Exchanges

2.4 The Merchant Model

The Merchant Model refers to wholesalers and retailers of goods and services. Examples in
an Internet Marketing context would be PLRwholesaler.com, which specializes in building a
virtual warehouse of PLR products that are sold with private label rights.

Other applications include:

Bit Vendor merchant that deals exclusively in digital products and services, and is
responsible for their sale and distribution e.g. Apple iTunes, Clickbank

Virtual Merchant an e-tailer merchant that operates exclusively over the web e.g.
Amazon.com and BlueFly.com

Click and Mortar traditional brick-and-mortal retail establishment with web
storefront.

Catalog Merchant mail order business with a web based catalog e.g. Lands End.

9
2.5 The Affiliate Model

The Affiliate Model is the most popular business model used by Internet Marketers. Product
/ service vendors offer commissions based on a % of sale value, for all sales generated via
that marketers affiliate link.

Its a WIN-WIN solution because the vendor has ZERO costs other than giving a commission
on sales that would not have been made anyway with out the affiliates efforts. From the
affiliates perspective they get hands-off commissions without the need for customer service,
monetary risk, or even the risk associated with starting a new business venture.

Applications of this model include:
Revenue Sharing provides a percentage of sale price commission based on a user
click through that results in a subsequent sale

Banner Exchange Trades banner placement among a network of affiliated sites.

Pay-per-click sites that pay affiliates per user click through.

Preview: The first Digital Money Tree model we will discuss later is a specific slant on
the Affiliate Model.

2.6 The Subscription Model

With the Subscription model users are charged a periodic fee to subscribe to a service. These
subscription fees are usually monthly but can also be daily, weekly or yearly. A great
example would be dating sites such as Match.com.

Subscription fees are incurred irrespective of actual usage rates. Furthermore it is quite
common for subscription and advertising models to be combined.

Applications of this model include:

Content Service provides text, audio or video content to users who subscribe for a
fee to gain access to a service. Examples include Netflix.

Software As A Service SaaS refers to a hosted software service that subscribers gain
access to for a periodic fee. Examples include: Kajabi, Traffic Geyser, Match.com.

P2P Networking Service are conduits for the distribution of user-submitted
information, such as individuals searching for former schoolmates e.g.
Classmates.com

10
Preview: The second Digital Money Tree model we will discuss later is a specific slant on
the Subscription Model.

2.7 The Utility Model

The Utility Model or on-demand model is based on metering usage i.e. a pay as you go
approach. Unlike subscriber services, metered services are based on actual usage rates.

Applications of this model include:
Metered Usage meters and bills users based on actual usage of a service e.g. fee per
eBook formatted for kindle or iBooks.
Metered Subscriptions allow subscribers to purchase access to content in metered
portions e.g. Slashdot.

2.8 The Community Model

The viability of the community model is based on user loyalty. Users have a high investment
in both time and emotion. Revenue can be based on the sale of ancillary products and
services or voluntary contributions; or revenue may be tied to contextual advertising and
subscriptions for premium services.

The Internet is inherently suited to community business models and today this is one of the
more fertile areas of development, as seen in the rise of social networking.

Application of the Community Model include:

Social Networking Services sites that enable the interaction of individuals with a
common interest (e.g. profession related, hobby related). Examples include Pinterest,
Facebook, LinkedIn. Social networking services can provide opportunities for
contextual advertising and subscriptions for premium services e.g. Socialoomph.com

Open Source - software developed collaboratively by a global community of
programmers who share code openly. Instead of licensing code for a fee, open source
relies on revenue generated from related services like systems integration, product
support, tutorials and user documentation e.g. Red Hat, WordPress,

Open Content - openly accessible content developed collaboratively by a global
community of contributors who work voluntarily e.g. Wikipedia

11
Ok so now that I have skimmed through some of the most lucrative business models
being used online, I hope that your creative juices are starting to flow.

There is no reason why you cant create a viable Internet Business leveraging any of these
business models. I reckon 90% of Internet Marketers are focused on both the Affiliate
Model and the Infopreneur Model. Yet the potential in some of the other models is mind-
boggling.

You dont even need to have a completely new idea. All you need to do is find a business
model that has an active target market, list all the features of the top 5 competitors, and put
together a new business that has a best of breed philosophy with the best features from all 5.

2.9 Common Systems

Let us now examine a couple of the most common systems used by Internet marketers
as extrapolated from each of the aforementioned business models.

Blogging and Authority Sites

Blogging and Authority Sites are systems extrapolated from the Infopreneur Business
Model.

After a spate of Google updates blogging / authority sites are siphoning off quality traffic
from the search engines. The only downside is that there is a huge amount of work involved
in creating and sustaining a quality authority site. You will need to be very well versed on
your topic, write quality content regularly and continually split test pages, track clicks, and
optimize your site for SEO purposes.

This represents too much work for the maximum return, minimum effort Digital Money
Tree model.

Single Sale Product launches e.g. eBook, WordPress Plugins

Single sale product launches represent another system extracted from the Infopreneur
Business Model.

With the explosion of niche forums such as Warrior Forum, JVzoo and Forum Special
Offers, marketers now have highly responsive platforms within which to execute big product
launches.

The advantages are highly responsive customers bases, large number of affiliates ready to
promote, and a lot of money to be made in just 24 hours.

The disadvantage with this perpetual launch model is that youll never get ahead. You
wont have finished one launch, when youll be already thinking about the next one. Its also

12
getting very costly these days with professional sales copy costing anything from $1,500 to
$25,000 to get written, affiliates demanding upwards of 100% of your front end commissions,
and the need to put up big prizes to draw in the BIG JV partners. Worse still you are only
ever really guaranteed one sale from each customer, with no assurances theyll ever buy from
you again even if you capture them onto your list.

So this model certainly doesnt fit the maximum return, minimum effort model.

Membership Sites
Membership sites are extrapolated from The Subscription Model.

Membership sites are one of the better systems out there because they enable you to do the
work one time, and get paid for it over and over again. However content membership sites
require a huge amount of work in order to create and maintain.

Content is volatile depending on your niche. The IM niche is forever in a state of flux.
Information thats cutting edge today, can be obsolete tomorrow. This means that content
membership sites are NOT hands off like many people believe.

The attrition rate for content membership sites is also high i.e. the vast majority of members
only stay paying members for a few months, and then cancel their membership. The average
is 50% - 70% of paying members, quit within 3 months. It is a full time job trying to get new
members to join, as well as continuously updating content.

So despite the advantage of recurring income this model does not fit the criteria of a
maximum return, minimum effort Digital Money Tree model.

Cost Per Action CPA
CPA is a neat model for complete newbies to start earning their first commissions online. In
effect companies will pay you a commission for sending traffic to a page and getting them to
take a particular action e.g. sign up for free samples of a new health tonic.

In effect you need to spend you time driving traffic to CPA offers. Traffic generation is a full
time job, and not aligned with our maximum return, minimum effort model.

Google AdSense Sites
Many marketers focus exclusively on creating mini sites that have Google AdSense ads
embedded in the content and the margins. They try hard to blend the AdSense Ads into the
site design, to make it look like actual site content. In effect a trick to click strategy.

Google is sending far less traffic to these thick on ads, thin on content style sites. If you are
trying to make money with this model you will be forever writing content, doing SEO, and
driving traffic from multiple sources to your sites. A misfit for the hands off passive income
model we are looking for.

Review Sites
Review Sites represent another system extracted from the Infopreneur Business Model.

13
Product Review sites (sometimes referred to as Sniper Sites) revolve around the philosophy
of trying to get your sites on page one of Google for buyer keyword phrases pertaining to
upcoming product launches.

The idea is that a large percentage of customers pre-validate their purchase decision by
Googling the keyword phrase product name review. So if the product was called Video
Marketing To Page One then review site marketers will target phrases such as video
marketing to page one review, buy video marketing to page one etc.

The logic is that if they write a review that has embedded affiliate links, potential customers
land on their site, they click the links, make the purchase and the marketer earns a
commission.

This business model made a lot of marketers, a lot of passive income over the past decade.
However with the latest Google Updates, review sites thin on content are getting hammered.
Much better to build an authority site with quality content if you want to pursue this style of
system.

Right now it has fallen out of favor with Google, and requires too much work to sustain for
our philosophy of maximum return, minimum effort.

Affiliate Marketing (extracted from The Affiliate Model)
No matter which system you choose to make money online, it will always have elements of
affiliate marketing embedded. Every type of Internet Marketer uses affiliate marketing to
create multiple revenue streams.

However no one should rely 100% on Affiliate Marketing as to do so would ensure you never
reach your full money making potential. Having your own products gives you leverage that
opens doors, can get you in with the big players, enables you to leverage armies of affiliates
to make you passive income and so much more.

Affiliate Marketing is one of our Digital Money Tree Models and it will be discussed in the
next chapter.

Im now going into detail on the two Digital Money Tree Models which will enable you to
realize our philosophy of maximum return, minimum effort.

14
3.0 The Freedom Continuity Income Model

The vast majority of individuals that turn to Internet Marketing are coming from a regular
job. They are struggling to get ahead because they are stuck in the 9 to 5 mindset. As far as
they are concerned the only way to make money is to trade hours for dollars.

They are not aware that there is a different set of rules in play for their entrepreneurial
counter parts. In fact its pretty sad really because if you are working in a 9-5 job you are
being hammered from every corner.

Consider the following:
If you have a regular job your income is categorized as earned income, which is the
type of income that your government taxes the hardest and gives the least concessions
or tax breaks for.

Earned Income robs you of your most precious resource TIME. You are in effect
trading hours for dollars. Your employer decides how much you are worth per hour
and pays you accordingly.

There is a ceiling on your earnings. Considering you are paid a set amount per hour,
your income is limited. There are only 24 hours in a day so even if you worked for all
24, there is still a limit. Some people take second and third jobs yet they still cant get
ahead. Why? Well its because its still inside this earned income model.

You are a slave to your employer. Your employer dictates your worth, your wage,
your entitlements, your working conditions, your working hours, how long you get for
lunch breaks, when / if you can take holidays and so much more. Its the equivalent
of modern day slavery.

What shocks me is that employees are living in a bubble. They hate Mondays because they
hate their jobs. They spend their lives wishing their weeks away so that they can get to
Fridays, just to start all over again on Monday morning.

Many employees fail to realize that there are other income models that provide:
Unlimited Income Potential
Freedom from the rigid 9 5 lifestyle
Leverage that enables multiplier effects on their earning power
Huge tax breaks
And the ability to be their own boss and make their own rules

Some of these business models include:

1. Royalties from writing books
2. Licensing fees from software you own
3. Rent from residential real estate
4. Portfolio Income from stocks and bonds
5. Passive Income from Network Marketing

15
6. Passive Income From Online Marketing

The first 5 models are outside the scope of this text, but really and truly if you are serious
about getting ahead then you should be engaging in all six. I certainly do and I highly
recommend you do too.

Having a single wage from a single source used to be sufficient, but in these tempestuous
times you need to create multiple income streams from multiple sources.

A diversified portfolio of sources is the key to securing your income and your lifestyle.

One of the most powerful strategies to have in your diversified portfolio is the Freedom
Continuity Income Model

3.1 What Is the Freedom Continuity Income Model
Considering that you are reading this text you have already realized that the Internet provides
an unprecedented opportunity to make more money. You may be currently working the 9 to
5 job, and you are looking to supplement that income. Or you may have taken a leap of faith
and are already focusing 100% of your time and energy on building your online empire.

Either way I congratulate you for taking the first step. Remember a journey of a thousand
miles begins with a single step.

However youll never reach your destination if you start out in the wrong direction. As Ive
outlined in the opening chapter there are hundreds of possibilities when it comes to online
marketing.

CPA
CPC
Blogging
Auto Blogging
Review Sites
Authority Sites
Affiliate Marketing
SAAS
Membership Sites
eBooks
WordPress Plugins
Offline Consulting
SEO Businesses
Social Media Consultant
And so on.

16
The BIG PROBLEM is that it takes time to learn each of these models. None of them really
give you the FREEDOM you are looking for. In effect no matter which you chose to go with,
you are just creating a JOB for yourself. Worse yet what happens if you climb up the online
corporate ladder, only to realize that its leaning against the wrong wall?

There are however variations of these models that I believe are the truest, surest route to
Financial FREEDOM. One of these models is what I call The Freedom Continuity Income
Model.

The FREEDOM Continuity Income Model perfectly fits our philosophy maximum return,
minimum effort.

It provides multiple streams of passive income across a diversified portfolio of different
digital assets. It enables you to leverage other peoples time and effort, in effect getting paid
for not working at all.

So what is the Freedom Continuity Income Model? Well in simple terms the Freedom
Continuity Income Model is whereby you promote affiliate programs that have recurring
payment plans. Im talking 100% focus on promoting products / services that pay recurring
commissions. If it isnt recurring, youre not interested.

There are many quality affiliate programs online that will pay you a monthly recurring
commission for every sale you make. The huge advantage of promoting these types of
programs is that you get all the benefits of running a monthly recurring income site, without
any of the work or hassle.

You dont have to worry about:
Taking a financial risk in spending thousands of dollars to create one of these sites
Spending huge amounts of time, money and effort in setting up and maintaining the
site
Responding to customer service queries
Updating site content to keep it current
Paying and managing affiliates
Moderating a forum
Managing a help desk
Tweaking and optimizing your funnel
Working on increasing the conversion rate of your sales copy
Covering costs associated with maintaining the site / service

No all you have to worry about is which bank account you want the payments to be lodged
to. Think of this strategy for a moment. For every sale you make you get paid over and over
again. You just promote a quality recurring income product, and forget about it. The
income is truly passive because it will continue to flow without any further effort from you.

This is the most hands-off model when it comes to making passive income online.

17
3.2 What Type Of Programs Fit The Freedom Continuity Income
Model

Some of you might say ya Im aware of these residual income products / services, heck Im
already earning some money from them. But I challenge you have you really given it due
consideration.

Just because a product has a monthly recurring income stream is not enough for you to
promote it.

You need to think logically and exercise due diligence in your selection. Taking the extra
step can make a huge difference in the longevity of your returns.

You need to focus you efforts on identifying products that fit the following criteria:
1. Are Evergreen products / services
2. Are In An Evergreen Niche
3. Are something your target market feels they must have
4. Are something your target feels they cannot do without
5. Are something your target market will feel they have to keep using
6. Is a huge nuisance for your target market to drop?

So lets consider each of these in detail.

Evergreen products / services refer to products / services that will be needed all year long,
and for every foreseeable year thereafter. For example you dont want to be promoting
products that have only a seasonal demand e.g. a service that enables you to create quality
Christmas cards with just a few clicks, would have a very short lifespan.

Evergreen niches refer to niches that will lock a customer in ad infinitum. You dont want a
niche that is only going to attract a customer for a short amount of time. For example the
pregnancy niche has a short life span. Pregnant women are not likely to remain paid
members of sites that provide information on breast-feeding ad infinitum.

Your target market must feel that this service / product is essential and that it is very much a
need as opposed to a want. For example you need to host a website whereas you want
more backlinks. In that context promoting a hosting provider is a better option than a
backlink provider. The target market are far more likely to remain a paid up member of the
hosting provider than the backlink provider.

Your target market must feel they cannot do without the service after they have signed up.
Obviously you cannot do without a hosting provider if you have website. If you do your site
wont stay online.

The greater the exit barriers the more money you will make. If it is a huge nuisance for your
target market to leave the service after signing up, then they will be slower to do it. This
means that you are going to receive this passive income stream for longer. Again the hosting
provider is the perfect example. It is a nightmare trying to switch hosting providers.

18
Now the absolute perfect product / service to promote will satisfy these 6 criteria. However
being realistic its tough to find product / services that satisfy all 6. You just need to exercise
your intelligence in your selection.

Just to point you in the right direction, here is a list of the type of programs you should
consider promoting in pursuit of Freedom Continuity Income.

1. Hosting Companies
Every Internet Marketer that wants a site needs a hosting provider. You cannot have a
website accessible online unless it is being hosted. Its also a nightmare to transfer hosting
providers, so once you make a sale that stream of passive income is likely to last ad
infinitum. Examples of quality hosting companies are Bluehost and Hostgator.

2. Autoresponders.
Every Internet Marketer knows that the money is in the list. In order the build and monetize
that list they need an auto-responder service. Once they sign up to one of these
autoresponder services they will stay signed up for as long as they are Internet marketing. It
will facilitate one of their primary sources of income e.g. their list. An example of a quality
auto-responder that pays the best commissions is Get Response.

3. Software As A Service
Software As A Service or SAAS for short refers to a type of membership site that provides a
software solution that is deemed essential by the target market. Usually these types of
services will automate essential processes, or save the member considerable time and money.
Typically these SAAS sites have features that are unique, and not readily available in a one
off payment solution. One Online example of this type of program is Kajabi a service that
enables marketers to create and maintain membership sites. Or the excellent Mind Movies
service in the self help genre.

4. Two Tier Affiliate Programs
Two-tier affiliate programs are the holy grail of Freedom Continuity Income. Essentially
you earn passive income, just by recruiting affiliates for someone elses product. You then
earn a set percentage commission on every sale made by every affiliate you refer. The
potential passive income from this model is mind-boggling.

5. Membership Sites With Yearly Recurring Commissions
Some sites provide a payment structure that features annual or bi annual subscriptions. They
have significant customer retention rates, and lower customer attrition rates. This tends to be
because many customers dont mind paying a one off fee each year. Other times it is because
customers forget they even have these subscriptions. It is worth adding these to your
portfolio. An example of this type of membership site is Spin Rewriter.

6. All-In-One Membership Sites
All-In-One Membership Sites contain a suite of software tools and content that provides a
complete solution for anyone interested in a particular niche. A great example of this type of
membership is WeightWatchers or Niche Profit Classroom.

19
7. Content Based Membership Sites
Content based membership sites contain nothing but quality content. This content has to be
of an extremely high level to warrant customers paying for it. It also must be updated
frequently to keep it current and relevant. A great example of this type of membership site is
stock market investing site Fool.com.

8. Reseller Programs
Reseller Continuity programs are a little known gold mine, that provide the smartest form of
leverage possible. Effectively they enable you take an established continuity program,
rebrand it as your own, and milk it for continuity income. The beauty of these programs is
that there is no upfront risk of investment required on your behalf.

Furthermore you keep up to 100% of the income you make. You just pay a low monthly fee,
and pocket all the income without any of the hassle of customer service, or site maintenance.

You simply take a proven platform, apply to their reseller program, send traffic and make
money. You just need to set up a front-end site and the proprietors of the program you are
reselling handle everything else and cut you your monthly check. A great example of this
program is Hostgators reseller program.

3.3 How To Find Freedom Continuity Programs Worth
Promoting

Now that you have a grasp of the types of Freedom Continuity Programs that are worth
promoting, Im going to show you how you can find these programs.

There are a huge number of freedom continuity programs available online. The trick is
finding quality ones to promote.

Im now going to outline where you can locate them in the fastest possible time:

Clickbank
Clickbank is the 500-pound Gorilla that has a stellar reputation with vendors, affiliates and
customers alike. There are hundreds of quality Freedom Continuity Programs in virtually
every niche on there. It doesnt matter if your niche is Internet Marketing or Weight Loss
you will find programs worth promoting.

The trick with Clickbank is understanding the different parameters, that will enable you to
sort good products from bad products.

Your aim is to find a quality product, with high gravity, high future $ per sales values, and
low refund rates.

Gravity is Clickbank terminology for the frequency with which sales are made by affiliates.
The higher the gravity the greater the number of affiliates that are making money with this
product. This is a strong indicator of conversion rate. The higher the gravity the better

20
because it means that you will get a higher return on your efforts i.e. a greater percentage of
the traffic you send to the offer will convert into passive income.

The Avg Rebill Total and Avg % Rebill are important considerations. You want to find
programs that are on the upper end of the scale for both of these filters. They factor in things
like customer attrition rate; refund rate, and average length of stay for each customer. This is
the essential statistic that should ultimately determine which product you promote.

So to summarize you are looking for Clickbank product with Billing Type: Recurring, and a
high Avg Rebill Total, which indicates how much an affiliate earns (on average) after the
initial sale of that vendors products. Its not a guaranteed amount, but its a good sign that
you can continue earning more after that first sale. The Avg $/sale stat does include the initial
and recurring amounts an affiliate will earn from that vendor (on average), so you can look at
that as well to get a good sense of the overall value of promoting that vendor.

Click here to check out the Clickbank marketplace.

Bluesnap (formerly Plimus)
The Bluesnap Marketplace makes it easy for Affiliates to find Freedom Continuity Products
worth promoting.
It enables you to Search and browse the catalog to find items that youd like to promote based
on your specific requirements. Average Earnings per Sale, Avg. Commission, % Active
Affiliates, % Affiliate Ratio & Lifetime value are just a few filters you can tweak to tailor
your search results to your exact specification.

Once again the ultimate statistic we are interested in is the Lifetime Value.

Click here to find programs on Bluesnap.

RAPBank
RAP Bank was one of the first instant payment affiliate systems. The benefit of promoting
products on this system is that you get paid instantly. The system pays out alternate sale, so
if the commission rate is 50% you get 100% of every second sale.

Click here to find programs on RAP Bank.

PayDotCom
PayDotCom is one of the older and more established affiliate networks. Key parameters we
are interested in here are APS and the frequency of payments

The APS score is calculated on a daily basis and it depends on a number of factors such as
the number of sales, total refunds, and affiliate earnings with special emphasis put on the
number of unique affiliates making sales over the last 150 days with recent transactions
having more relevance.

21
The Filter search is not as sophisticated as some of the other networks i.e. we cant filter by
rebill products. The best way to find them is to click on Top Sellers inside the
Marketplace and browse down through the results.

Look for high APS scores and the description after the product title that indicates if its a
recurring payment product or single payment.

Click here to find programs on PayDotCom.

Lifetime Commissions
LifetimeCommissions.com is a directory of affiliate programs that pay lifetime commissions
or residual commissions for life.

The customer you refer to the merchant is "yours" for life.

To cut to the cream of the crop check out the Top 3 for the most lucrative and rewarding
programs in the directory, or you can set a filter that will list all the five star programs.

Click here to find programs on Lifetime Commissions.

JV Notify Pro
JV Notify Pro is THE go to site when it comes to getting in early on new product launches.
The benefit of sourcing lifetime commission programs from this service is that they are 100%
new, so all the people you promote the site to are unlikely to have seen it before. This
maximizes your affiliate commissions, as they are unlikely to be already signed up as a paid
member.

There are no filters on here so you just need to click on the different upcoming launches, visit
the JV invite pages and locate products with recurring commissions.

Nanacast
I need to give Nanacast special mention here because not only are you credited with the sale
of the recurring income product, but any other product that customer purchases from that
vendor. In effect you are getting lifetime commissions for every product that customer ever
purchases from that vendor.

With Nanacast you need to sign up for an affiliate account. Then go the Affiliate Center
and opposite the Show box select Membership. Then for Sort by select the Most
Popular option.

22

Next you browse through the list of returned items, clicking on each one to see what
commission structure is on offer.

As you can see in the above diagram, you need to look at the data under Affiliate info.
Remember we are after monthly recurring income so the 24.00 USD/30 Days (indefinitely) is
exactly what we are looking for. Isnt Indefinitely such a sweet word in this context? !

Click here to find programs on Nanacast.

23
Digiresults
Digiresults is one of the better networks for uncovering high quality Freedom Continuity
Programs. Better yet you get paid instantly for every sale you make.

All you need to do is sign up for a free Affiliate account, sort by the niche you are interested
in, and then select your products based on monthly recurring structure with a high
commission rate.

The monthly recurring commission symbol is:

Warrior Plus
Warrior Plus has exploded in size inside the last 12 months or so. The problem with Warrior
Plus is that there are as much junk products as there are quality products. I advise caution
therefore when selecting which Freedom Continuity Programs to promote.

There is no specific filter for finding monthly recurring commission structures, however you
can sort by the following method and browse through the results.

24

So as per the above diagram login to your affiliate account. Click on the Affiliates tab.

From there in the Offer Title / Keyword field enter a keyword such as membership or
coaching. Then select Visitor Conv. In the Sort by tab. Hit the Search button.

Read down through the results, identify monthly recurring programs and perform some due
diligence to determine if it is a quality product worth promoting.

Click here to find programs on Warrior Plus.

JV Zoo
JV Zoo is a similar network to Warrior Plus, although it has a slightly superior affiliate
network in terms of quality JV partners. Its also not as clear when it comes to identifying
new launches. Neither do they have filters that can be used to pinpoint products with
monthly recurring commissions. However it is still worthy browsing through their directory
as you will no doubt uncover some gems from the hundreds of vendors that sware by this
network.

Click here to find programs on JVzoo.

SAAS Directory -
The SAAS Directory is a directory of Software As A Service sites. Its worth browsing
around the directory to uncover quality software services that pay a monthly recurring
commission.

Click here to find programs on the SaaS Directory.

25
Google
Very often the best place of all to find Freedom Continuity Programs is Google itself. You
can enter specific syntax in Google, that will pinpoint Freedom Continuity Affiliate Programs
in your niche of choice.

So go to Google and run a search on the keywords: niche + recurring affiliate program

This will return a list of affiliate programs in your niche with a recurring payment plan.

Ok now that Ive given you enough repositories in order to find these Freedom Continuity
Programs, its now time to take note of these important considerations before diving right in
there.

3.4 Important Things Worth Considering Pre Selection

Its not enough to simply find affiliate programs with a recurring payment structure, and
promote them. You need to conduct some due diligence to ensure they are worth your time
and effort.

The Quality of The Product / Service Being Offered
It is essential that you focus you efforts on promoting quality products. If you adopt a best
of breed philosophy, then you are going to benefit from:
Developing a reputation for promoting quality
Developing trust which will boost your list conversion rate
Quality product means lowers refunds and more commissions
Lower attrition rates mean more dependable passive income

However if you are blinded by attractive commission payments, and fail to do your due
diligence then you are going to spend your time spinning your wheels.

Promoting low quality products will means that:
Refund rates are high which means your efforts will lack the continuity income you
seek.

26
You will damage your relationship with your list, undermine trust and inevitably find
it more difficult to make sales.
You wont be able to get ahead because your customer attrition rate is always higher
than your customer acquisition rate.

One of the most effective methods of analyzing a potential business is to check out what
people are saying in the forums. Google phrase such as:

Product Name Review e.g. traffic geyser review
Is Product Name Any Good e.g. is traffic geyser any good
Alternatives To Product Name e.g. alternative to traffic geyser
Best Product Type e.g. best video marketing software

Spend more time reviewing the comments in forums rather than review sites. Review sites
are most likely affiliates trying to sell you the product, so their opinions will be biased.

Reading through forums posts and comments will enable you to see a wide range of opinions,
and enable you to make a more informed decision. Always use your gut instincts when
assessing these reviews.

Remember not everyone is going to have something positive to say, most often because some
peoples expectations are unreasonable. Taking this into account will prevent you from
discounting products worth your selection.

The Stickability Factor
The stickability factor refers to how badly the product is needed. Remember we are most
interested in promoting products / services that satisfy a need as opposed to a want. A
need is a compulsory requirement whereas a want is a luxury. For example you need Food
and Water but Alcoholic Beverages are a want.

So when assessing a potential program ask yourself does my target market really need this
program or is it more of a nice to have, as opposed to a must have.

Not every Freedom Continuity Program you promote will satisfy a need but the more they
do, the great the stickability factor.

The Attrition Rate
The Attrition Rate refers to the % fall off rate in a continuity program over time. Obviously
youd like for every sale you make to be paying you passive income for the rest of your life.
However every continuity program you promote will have a fall off.

So Attrition refers to the rate or number of members that cancel their membership per
billing cycle. The more members that quit, the worse the attrition rate is.

27
Unfortunately attrition rates can be as high as 50% to 70% over the first 3 months. This
means that for even 10 sales you make this month, up to 7 will have stopped paying you
within 3 months. Attrition rate is thus an important consideration.

High attrition rates signal that this particular continuity program is either lacking in quality,
customer service, or is more focused on satisfying customer wants than needs. Other
factors include: perceived value is lower than price charged, information overload due to
excessive content, the site is not generating promised results, the price is too high, the content
/ service is available elsewhere for FREE or as a one off purchase.

The Attrition rate for a continuity program will not be easy to find, certainly not discoverable
on a Google search. It will necessitate you making direct contact with the product / service
vendor.

Tell them that you are interested in promoting their product / service, but you need some
more detailed information before you can make an informed decision. Ask them what is their
attrition rate per billing cycle. Some might be dishonest with you, but from my experience
most will have the good sense to be upfront. They realize that if they mislead you that you
will know that statistic yourself after you have promoted their service for a few months.

There is no such thing as a good or bad attrition rate, everything is relative. Every niche is
different, different niches have different needs and wants, and different types of competitors
exist to satisfy each of these needs and wants.

You thus need to conduct market research that compares the attrition rates of different
competitors within the same category of service for your respective niche. Only then can you
make an informed decision.

The Conversion Rate
The conversion rate is another important consideration. You need to factor in how much
traffic you have to send to a sales page, in order to make a single sale. Very often the
continuity programs sit on the back end of a funnel. So although the quoted conversion rate
of this backend sales page might be high, remember that it refers only to customers who
purchased on the front end.

So if a product is converting a 4% on the front end, and 25% on the backend then to make
just one recurring commission I need to send at least 100 qualified prospects. These are
important considerations from a time and cost perspective.

Most product vendors will be honest and tell you their conversion rate if you simply send
them an email / or raise a support ticket. As the saying goes you can get anything you want,
if you just ask.

The Commission Rate
The commission rate and the duration of payments are important considerations. Obviously
you need to go after freedom continuity programs that pay out the highest commission rates.

28
By commission rate I refer to percentile values, as opposed to monetary values. The reason is
discussed here under on the section on price.

The majority of freedom continuity programs pay a 30 - 50% commission rate. Some will
offer 100% for the first few months, but then cut you off there after. Obviously we are going
after passive income here, so it is critical that the term is indefinite i.e. you get paid until such
a time that the customer cancels their membership.

This information will be clearly visible on the JV or affiliate page for the program, so take
careful note of the way it is phrased. If you need clarification seek it.

The Affiliate Support Materials
Affiliate support materials provide an important insight into the type of support you can
expect to receive from the vendors of this program. The more support you receive the more
money you will make.

Effectively the more of the following items that are provided the better:
Swipe Files
Banner Ads
Direct Response Ads
Bonuses to give away
Product Reviews
Forum and Email Signatures
Pop Under Windows
eCover Graphics
Keyword Lists to Target
Product Review Videos

This is not a complete list, but Im sure you get the idea. If a product vendor provides all /
most of the above, then they are dedicated to helping you make as much money as possible.
This is a strong indicator that their support will probably be equally good.

The Competition Factor
In the movie Wall Street the character Gordon Gekko played by Michael Douglas made the
infamous statement that Greed is Good. Well in the freedom continuity program stakes,
competition is good. Competition proves that there are affiliates out there who are making
good money promoting this program. They wouldnt be wasting their time promoting it other
wise.

Do a quick Google on terms such as product name reviews. Take note of the number of
review sites that appear. If these are thin on content review sites with low page Ranks then
you can easily get past this competition. If however the first page of Google is full of
authority sites with high page ranks of 5+, then you will find it difficult to break through on
Google in the short to medium term.

You can use a tool such as Market Samurai for an instant snap shot of the strength of your
page one Competitors for any given keyword phrase. So many marketers overlook the

29
strength of their competition, when making product selection decisions. Make sure you are
not one of them.

But remember SEO is not the only marketing channel you are competing in. Even for an
extremely competitive market, full of high page ranks sites on page one of Google; you could
get a page one ranking using video marketing. This is thanks to the fact video marketing is a
far less competitive medium, and routinely gets page one results thanks to Googles universal
Search. Grab a copy of my Video Marketing To Page One if you need a complete how to
guide on ranking videos on page one of Google and YouTube.

So the takeaway here is that even if competition is strong you can chose less competitive
marketing channels to get good results.

The Price
The price is a factor that many affiliates consider for the wrong reasons. Many affiliate want
to promote the highest priced product / service possible. They think higher prices means
bigger commission checks. While this might be true initially, higher priced products have
much higher attrition rates.

Now I dont know about you but Id prefer to make $47 per month per customer for 5 years
or more, than to make $250 per customer for 2 months or less.

As a general observation I have found that products within the $27 - $97 price point have a
much lower customer attrition rate than their higher priced counter parts. This is something
that a lot of affiliates over look, and it is an important consideration.

The Product / Service Vendors Reputation
The reputation of the product / service vendor from an affiliate perspective is a key
consideration. Some are slow to issue affiliate checks, while others have been known to be
less than honest when it comes to paying affiliates what they are due.

Scroll to the end of the product sales page and find the name of the person and or company
selling the product. This could be the salutation e.g. To your success, MAO Flynn or it
might be at the very end of the page beside the copyright e.g. in the case below its traffic
geyser LLC.

Do a quick Google on terms like affiliate program traffic geyser LLC and browse through
the experiences of their affiliates. A little bit of digging around will reveal a lot about the
integrity of the company. On a side note Traffic Geyser LLC are an awesome company,
and Ive had nothing but positive experiences promoting their SAAS.

30
The Affiliate Network
Finally worthy of your consideration is the affiliate platform being used to service payments.
For my own SAAS sites I have always used Nanacast, because they have a stellar reputation
as the number 1 affiliate network for eliminating commission theft / fraud and ensuring that
genuine affiliates get accurate commissions. However that isnt the only consideration.

Networks such as Clickbank, Commission Junction and PayDotCom have been around for
years. They are third party networks that sit in between the vendor and the affiliate. The
stats are thus accurate / transparent, and you know you will be paid on time with the likes of
Clickbank whos payments run like clockwork every fort night.

Other vendors use in house membership scripts such as aMember or the brilliant Digital
Access Pass. While these are good systems, it means that the vendor does have full control
over when commission payments are processed.

Other networks such as JVzoo, Warrior Plus, Digiresults and RAPbank feature instants real
time payments, which have the advantages of instant gratitude.

In real terms I promote specifically based on product / service quality, so inevitably you are
going to have a diversified portfolio of continuity products from different platforms.

3.5 How To Promote Freedom Continuity Programs

Ok so you have identified your niche, selected evergreen products that fit our stringent
criteria, now how are you going to promote them?

Well in order to promote these products you need to begin with the customers mindset.
Remember you are asking your customers to make a financial commitment spanning months
or even years. It is thus extremely important that you pre-sell them on the benefits. The
benefits have to outweigh the costs. Perception is key. So before you even start deciding on
the channels you will use to promote the product, create a brainstorming diagram and list
every imaginable benefit that you can think of.

Remember features and benefits are different. Features tell, benefits sell. Features pertain
to what the product / service does, whereas benefits are the positive results attributed to those
features.

I always found the easiest way to identify benefits was to use the so that principle. So if
you identify a feature as automatically submits videos to video sharing sites, then you
simply append the words so that and fill in the blank:

Automatically submits videos to the video sharing sites so that ________________________

31
So for example: Automatically submits videos to the video sharing sites so that you save all
the time wasted with manual submissions i.e. the benefit here is saves time.

Remember the sales page of the product / service is a great place to look. Any good product
vendor will already have these benefits listed. So USE THEM.

When you have a big list of benefits created, that is the raw materials that you will use to
market the product.

I will now outline a brief list of ways to promote these FREEDOM continuity programs:

Video Reviews
Video Reviews are one of the most powerful ways to promote these programs. They give
you instant credibility as they prove you have actually used the product and are thus speaking
from experience.

A well-optimized video will get front-page placement on Google in as little as 24 hours. This
enables you to leap frog established review sites. The added bonus is that video thumbnails
appear on the SERPs, which attracts more click-throughs.

Furthermore well-optimized video sticks to page one of Google for years, with very little
maintenance. They are thus in effect the perfect passive traffic vehicle for true passive
income.

Furthermore they clear up any confusion, as your prospects can actually see the product /
service in action. All you need to do is create videos optimized for terms like product name
review. These are buyer keywords that are used by customers who are looking to make a
purchase decision. Use a tool like Camtasia to create the video in a few minutes.

I highly recommend you snap up a copy of my Video Marketing To Page One, which is the
most detailed course you can find, for step-by-step guidance to creating these cash pumping
video reviews.

Sniper Review Sites
Sniper Review sites are similar to video reviews except that they are text based. These
sniper review sites feature a detailed review of the product / service from a user perspective.

You need to ensure that your review is impartial and unbiased. Write a balanced article that
features some of the products / services shortcomings as well as benefits. Writing a
balanced review in this way gives you more credibility.

Again you really need to have used the products/ service to be able to speak from a position
of authority. Do not be afraid to approach the product vendor and tell them you want
temporary access to do a detailed product review. Most will be very happy to oblige.

If you would like more step-by-step guidance I suggest you snap up a copy of Google
Sniper.

32
Authority Sites
Authority sites are really review sites that go the extra mile. They feature quality content that
gets a lot of linking to, and sharing on social media sites.

You will need to write quality articles focusing on buyer keywords suitable to the target
market of the service you are promoting.

So for example say we were creating an authority to promote traffic geyser. Traffic Geyser
is a mass video submission tool for video marketing. It spins titles, content, and auto submits
to the top video sharing sites.

In that context we would create an authority site focused on video marketing. We would then
commit to writing 2/3 articles per week that each focus on specific buyer keywords / phrases.
This is a bait on a hook method for siphoning quality traffic from the search engines.

If you would like more step-by-step guidance I suggest you snap up a copy of Niche
Cyclone

Download Pages
If you create your own products then an excellent way to generate sales, is to put links /
banner ads to related freedom continuity products on your download pages.

Say for example you wrote a front end eBook that detailed the unique methods you have for
getting your videos to page one of Google, then put a banner ad promoting Traffic Geyser on
your download page.

You have thus presented a highly relevant upsell, to a proven target market, who already have
their wallets out and are willing to spend.

Email Marketing
Email marketing to a list with a proven interest in the subject matter of the continuity
program is very powerful. With email marketing you can send multiple messages that chip
away at the prospects natural resistance to purchase. Say you have picked out 3 / 4 quality
freedom continuity programs in the same niche e.g. in the video marketing niche: Traffic
Geyser, Animoto and Article Video Robot.

Then all you need to do is prepare 21 quality emails, with cutting edge tips on video
marketing. Subtly blend in anchor text links pointing to each of the 3 continuity programs
where appropriate. Focus on sending traffic to the squeeze page for that list. This puts our
list subscriber through a funnel of 21 high quality emails. Many of them will subscribe and
provide you with multiple streams of passive income.

If you are looking for the top course online for taking you through this process then check out
my best selling List Detonator.

Ok then that brings us to the end of our discussion on the Freedom Continuity income
Model. Im now going to move onto an even more powerful model called The Maximum
Leverage Continuity Income Model.

33
4.0 The Maximum Leverage Continuity Income Model

Where the Freedom Continuity Income Model focused on identifying and promoting high
quality programs with a recurring commission structure, the Maximum leverage Continuity
Income Model focuses on creating your very own income producing software service.

As mentioned in the previous chapter, there are several different types of products that
produce this type of income:

Content based membership sites
Dual membership sites with a mix of content and software tools
Software as a service membership sites

Im personally against content-based membership sites. There is a huge amount of work
required to create the content, and even more work to maintain it and keep it current.

If you are interested in a niche such as weight loss or self help then the information may
not go out of date as quickly as a niche like make money online, but its still an extra
concern.

This Digital Money Tree Model (SaaS) is extrapolated from The Subscription Model we
discussed earlier. You will get maximum leverage by focusing your efforts on creating these
Software As A Service style membership sites.

4.1 What Is the Maximum Leverage Continuity Income Model

One of the most powerful principles in passive income creation is leverage.

Leverage is the ability to control a lot with just a little. It gives you the ability to utilize more
than just you.

Through leverage, you can effect change much more rapidly. Leverage equals speed, or
velocity. The more leverage you have, the faster your journey to wealth.

The 7 forms of leverage

So what are the seven forms of leverage? Well, they are:
1. OPM (Other People's Money)
2. OPT (Other People's Time)
3. OPW (Other People's Work)
4. OPE (Other People's Experiences)
5. OPI (Other People's Ideas)
6. Scalable Production & Distribution
7. Scalable Customer Base

34
With a Software As A Service SAAS you leverage many of these principles for maximum
leverage deployment.

You can get other peoples money (investors),
to leverage other peoples time (programmers),
to leverage other peoples work (graphic designers),
to leverage other peoples experiences / ideas (the best features of different competitors),
to leverage a scalable distribution across a scalable customer base.

One form of leverage added to another produces a multiplier effect. It removes you from the
equation, which is the ultimate form of FREEDOM.

4.2 What Type Of Programs Fit The Maximum Leverage
Continuity Income Model

In my mind the only type of program that fits the Maximum Leverage Continuity Income
Model is SAAS i.e. Software As A Service.

Once you have the system in place, it takes care of it itself on virtual autopilot. You will not
need to continuously update the information as you would on a content-based membership
site.

Yes there will be inevitable new features you will need to add, but all they will serve to do is
enhance the perceived value, which will bump up your customer acquisition rates, enable you
to charge more, and mitigate attrition rates.

So what exactly is a SAAS?

Software as a service (SaaS) sometimes referred to as "on-demand software", is a software
delivery model in which software and associated data are centrally hosted on the cloud. SaaS
is typically accessed by users using a thin client via a web browser.

So instead of you creating an executable software file, that customers could download to their
PC, pay for once, and use forever more instead you host the software on your own server and
charge them a monthly fee to use it.

Now obviously the SAAS will need to be a lot more sophisticated than one time fee
downloadable alternatives, that should go without saying.

A good example of an SAAS would be the mass video submission software Traffic Geyser.
Sure there are cheap alternatives that will enable you to upload videos to video sharing sites
right from your desktop, but Traffic Geysers SAAS properties make it an attractive
alternative.

35
Such benefits include:

The fact Traffic Geyser is hosted on high-powered servers, means that its way faster.
It could upload 50 videos to different videos sharing sites; in the same amount of time
your own PC could upload one.

You can set and forget the software so that on pre-determined dates it will
automatically upload the videos to different video sites. With a desktop based
software youd need to be at your PC, ensure its switched on, and hope the power
doesnt go out it.

Traffic Geyser has dedicated servers to carry out its work so it doesnt interfere with
the speed and performance of your PC. If you had a desktop based alternative, it
would slow your PC and Internet connection to a snails pace. Videos are huge files so
uploading them to hundreds of sites will take forever and eat up all your resources.

Traffic Geyser uses complex algorithms to drip feed content, spin content, create
intricate link wheel structures, the works. A non-SaaS alternative would typically not
have the computing power to execute these tasks as effectively.

It has been said that of all the digital products out there, software has the highest perceived
value. It thus stands to reason that SAAS is the very best business model any Internet
Marketer should aspire to.

Provided the SAAS solution you create satisfies a real need, and does it well then every sale
you make can potentially be a new lifelong stream of income.

4.3 How To Build Freedom Continuity Programs Worth
Promoting

4.3.1 The Idea
Ok so lets takes this from the top. You have conducted market research and have identified
an evergreen niche. Having conducted further research you pinpoint a couple of SAAS sites
that are doing a good job of satisfying key needs / requirements within that niche.

So you write down a complete list of features, come up with a few new ideas, and merge
them together into a Business Plan for what would be the best service provider in this niche.

For example say that I wanted to create an SaaS product that would dominate the mass video
submission niche. I would conduct market research to discover the market leaders. Sites
such as Traffic Geyser, SE Nuke, Tube Mogul, and Content Buzz would undoubtedly come
up.

I would then conduct a detailed competitor analysis of each SaaS offering including: features,
benefits, pro, and cons etc.

36
Once I have this data compiled I would pick the best features, add some new features I think
are needed (based on market research), and create a detailed business plan.

I would then visit a few outsourcing sites such as oDesk and get a few quotations. Having
received a list of 5 quotations, I would check the references of the different programmers and
go with one of the quotations in the middle e.g. not the cheapest, not the most expensive.

Then I would decide whether I wanted / could afford to take the risk myself, or whether I was
going to secure investment from other people. That takes me on swiftly to our first pillar of
leverage: OPM.

4.3.2 Leverage Pillar 1: OPM Other Peoples Money
You pitch this idea to a group of investors. Show them that the risk is low as there is a real
demand for the service, and that current competitors are thriving with a lesser product
offering. Convince them to invest X amount of capital for Y amount of share holding. Never
lose heart keep pitching til you find someone willing to invest. Always get the potential
investor to sign an NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) before you pitch to them.

However an important note here is that you should only ever use other peoples money if you
have to. There are SaaS scripts you can buy now that make entry into an SaaS business very
affordable.

Check out Pilot Group limited for the cheapest way to launch a quality SaaS of your won.
They provide you with scripts from as little as $300, that will enable you to launch SaaS sites
ranging from dating sites to social networking sites. Click here to see their full range of
exciting programs.

4.3.3 Leverage Pillar 2: OPT Other Peoples Time
Go back through all the competitors sales pages and compile an ultra detailed list of every
single feature these combined services have. Take up free trials, join these sites, take
screenshots / videos of how the sites / services are laid out and how everything works. In that
context you have leveraged the time inputted by your competitors to come up with these
features and processes in the first place.

Now use a tool such as Survey Monkey or run a Facebook poll to ask people what
additional features they would like to see. Focus in on the most requested features and decide
to build that into the service on top of all the best features from your existing competitors.

4.3.4 Leverage Pillar 3: OPW Other Peoples Work
Ok so having leveraged OPT and OPM you now have a blueprint for the ultimate SAAS
product in your niche along with funding from investors. The next step is to find
programmers who will program this SAAS service for you.

37
Create a detailed product spec and post it to several outsourcing sites. The best outsourcing
sites are oDesk, eLance, Free Lancer and Guru.com.

Having posted your spec, revert back in a few days and take a look at the different responses.
Ask them have they ever developed anything like what you are asking them to do. Check out
their portfolio, reviews and rating.

As a general rule never go for the cheapest or most expensive quote, always settle for
something in the middle. Having conducted your due diligence give them to the go ahead.
Make certain that they work to strict deadlines.
As they are working on the programming, come up with a name that embodies the service.
Buy the dot com domain name. Post a further job on one of these outsourcing sites for a full
graphics package.

You will need:
Website HTML graphics
Logo
Banner Ads
Internal Site Diagrams
Software eCovers

As the programming and design is taking place, create a JV page. This is a simple process
using a WordPress Theme such as Optimize Press. Target potential JV partners sending them
to the JV page. Pick a launch date and post it to sites such as JVnotifypro.

Allow at least one full month of testing time in between programming completion and
product launch date.

4.3.5 Leverage Pillar 4: OPE Other Peoples Experiences
Give a small test group access to your product when it finishes programming. Tell them its
in Beta edition and that they will get FREE lifetime access in return for helping you to test it
out, and uncover any bugs.

Ask them for feedback. Any things they find confusing. Any improvements they would like
to be made. Any additional resources or information they need.

Use the feedback of these user experiences to fine tune your service, make improvements,
create quality user manuals / videos and perfect your product pre launch.

4.3.6 Leverage Pillar 5: OPI Other Peoples Ideas
Take the feedback you received from your BETA group, and use their ideas to enhance your
product offering. They will have identified features that are missing, processes that are
confusing, bugs that need fixing. Making these amendments will have a positive impact on
your user experience, and reduce your attrition rates.

38
4.3.7 Leverage Pillar 6: Scalable Production & Distribution
SAAS sites are browser-based so they are not restricted to any one operating system. They
will run on Mac OSX, Windows and Linux. They will not have compatibility issues, which
will ensure you gain maximum leverage from a scalability perspective.

You should ensure you have adequate server resources to scale with your membership as it
grows. Usually a VPS (Virtual Private Server) is a good starting point and you can progress
to a dedicated server if the need be.

You need to orchestrate a big scale launch for maximum distribution leverage. Do some
research, find product owners in the same general market as you, send them emails, Skype
them and drive them to your JV page. Get them signed up to promote.

4.3.8 Leverage Pillar 7: Scalable Customer Base
You need to offer one time offers on the backend of your sales funnel, in order to leverage
your new customer base. Provide related WordPress Plugins or templates that complement
your front end SAAS.

Get existing customers to promote your SAAS to their own lists, by sticking a banner on your
download page inviting them to go to your JV page to make money as an affiliate?

4.4 Important Things Worth Considering Pre Selection

Like any initiative worth undertaking; there are important considerations one needs to think
about:

4.4.1 Critical Success Factors

Hit A Large Target Market
You need to conduct adequate market research and ensure there is a large market that needs
the software service you are providing. If there are some big competitors doing well in the
niche for years, then you can be sure that there is a target market of sufficient size for your
venture. All you need to do is come to the market with a more attractive feature rich
proposition.

Exit Barriers Are High Enough To Keep Customer & Low Enough To Get New Ones
Exit barriers are an important consideration. They refer to the ease with which a customer
will leave one software provider to go to another. Sites like Facebook have high exit barriers
because people will have spent a huge amount of time and effort building relationships with
people in the communities, groups, uploading photos etc. They have invested too much time
and effort to leave and switch to a competitor. So I dont advice launching an SAAS to
compete with Facebook !

39
However certain companies have sprung up a unique product offering that has attracted that
target market. Think Pinterest. Unique slant on the social networking model.

The more time, money and effort that your target market have expended the more difficult it
is to get them to move. If you are building an SAAS it can thus be advantageous to build a
community around your product. Get your customers to create their own content via groups
or a forum. This community effect will help to raise your exit barriers and make it more
difficult for them to leave.

The Cost Factor
There are running costs associated with SAAS sites. They will most likely require at least
one dedicated served which can cost the bones of $300 per month. Many of these SAAS
services require subscriptions to support services, that provide critical information and add
on services necessary to support your SAASs functions. For example SE Nuke embeds an
automatic Captcha solving service from a third party company. Private affiliate networks
such as Nanacast can cost up to $250 per month for their top program.

It is thus essential that you compute all the costs associated with the day to day running of
your SAAS. You then need to find your break-even point. This is computed by dividing the
total cost of running the service by the subscription rate, to get the number of members you
need to have to break even.

So if the cost of running a service was $470, and you were charging $47 per month, then you
would need 10 paying members to break even i.e. $470 / $47 = 10.

Unless you keep a minimum of these 10 members paying $47 monthly, your costs will
exceed your income and you will go out of business.

The Sales Process
You need to have a hyper optimized sales process to maximize sales volumes. Your sales
page needs to hit all the buyers hot buttons. The greatest sales copy selling tactic of all is to
have a compelling story that shows this SAAS was conceived out of a need you identified in
your own personal / professional life. As Seth Godin says in his Best Seller All Marketers
Are Liars people dont buy products, they buy stories.

You need to show them the opportunity cost of not using your service. Show that it will
really hurt them from a time and money perspective.

You need to have a product walk through video that showcases the features of the service.
What makes it the best solution on the market?

You need an exit script that offers traffic leaving your site a free trial. Always capture their
credit card details by offering them a $1 trial instead of a FREE Trial. This will thus convert
to a paid member within 7 to 30 days depending on the term you set.

40
Use a service such as Kayako Fusion so that you can have a live chat box on your sales page
so that you can answer any queries site visitors have. This is the best time to dismantle their
natural resistance to purchase.

If they turn down the $1 trial have a second exit script that gives them a Free eBook that
subtly pre-sells your SAAS to them. When they subscribe to get the eBook have 7 12
emails in your auto responder that pre-sells the benefits to them over a period of time.

Exit splash is the top exit script on the market in my opinion.

Creative Monetization Opportunities

SAASs provide multiple revenue opportunities beyond the subscription model. One of the
most lucrative models being adopted by SAAS sites is fee per transaction. This might not
suit every SAAS but it is a viable opportunity. Think a Paypal, Warrior Plus or A JV Zoo.

These platforms take a tiny percentile commission on every transaction. They effectively
make money by facilitating transactions between a buyer and a seller. A great model if you
can leverage it.

However there are many different types of monetization opportunities for you to consider:

Network enables services:
Advertising
Marketplaces
Syndication of content, applications or data
Integration
Benchmarking and market intelligence
Cloud services
Affiliate Marketing

Non-Subscription revenue models include:
Transaction fees
Referral fees
Reseller margin
Revenue Sharing
Consumption Based Pricing
Performance Based Pricing

Its really worth your while considering the application of these revenue models. It is
important to strike a balance however because customers will leave in their droves if they feel
your interests are primarily commercial.

The monetization opportunities open to you will depend on many factors including the nature
of your business, the attitudes of your customers, and the sophistication of your product.

41
The Niche
Ive already mentioned the importance of niche selection, but I need to really emphasize the
point here. You have to focus your efforts on Evergreen Niches with year round demand.

There is little point having an SAAS with seasonal demand. For example while it may be a
great application, an SAAS that enables users to create point and click Christmas eCards is
not going to provide a continuous flow of income. Whereas by expanding the features to
enable eCard creation for every occasion its application transcends the seasons and transform
it into an evergreen niche with year round demand.

Many Internet Marketers think they have to focus exclusively on the make money online
niche. They believe that it is the only niche for a viable SAAS. However this is not the
case.

There are hundreds of evergreen niches worthy of your consideration:
Dating
Dog Training
Weight Loss
Muscle Building
Golfing
Sports
Gaming
Forex and Currency Trading
Property Investing
Stock Marketing Investing
Cooking
Educations
Green Products
Health and Fitness
Travel
Self Help
Parenting
Politics
Religion

The list really is endless. You can setup an SaaS in many of these categories for really cheap
by clicking here. The only criteria it needs to satisfy is that it represents a huge target market,
and has year round demand. Ironically the make money online niche is probably the
smallest niche of them all.

The Cloud
Cloud computing has been one of the biggest buzzwords for the last 12 months or so. It refers
to the use of computing resources (hardware and software) that are delivered as a service over
a network (typically the Internet).

42
The name comes from the use of a cloud-shaped symbol as an abstraction for the complex
infrastructure it contains in system diagrams.

Cloud computing entrusts remote services with a user's data, software and computation.

In fact SAAS is a version of cloud computing. I hope the dollar symbols have just started
flashing in your eyes, as you realize that with your SAAS you will be riding the wave of this
huge technological trend towards integrated computing.

In fact SAAS is only one form of cloud computing.

There are many other types for you to be aware of:
Infrastructure as a service (IaaS)
Platform as a service (PaaS)
Software as a service (SaaS)
Storage as a service (STaaS)
Security as a service (SECaaS)

43
Data as a service (DaaS)
Test environment as a service (TEaaS)
Desktop as a service (DaaS)
API as a service (APIaaS)
Backend as a service (BaaS)

You can really explode your money making power by coupling some of these cloud
computing variants together into a hybrid solution.

For example a Platform As A Service could sit nicely inside a Software As A Service.
Think about it. You could set up a dating sites (Software as a Service), and provide an eCard
Maker as a (PaaS) on a pay per usage based revenue model. This wouldnt even be
expensive. You can get a dating site engine now for as little as $300 i.e. check out Dating
Pro

4.4.2 Factors That Can Lead To Failure

Launching Without An Online Trial
Not providing an online trial is like selling a car to a customer, but telling them they cant
test-drive it in advance. Modern Internet Users are accustomed to Try Before You Buy.

Amazon do it with their Look Inside feature, Microsoft do it with their Trial Versions of
Microsoft Word, dating sites do it, SAASs targeting Internet Marketer do it, in fact all your
top competitors will be doing it as well.

If you dont offer a free trial then your customers will think that you have something to hide.

There are many benefits of offering the FREE trial:

You get the prospect to take action and enter your sales funnel.

At the end of the 30 days the free trial converts to a paid subscription

The fact the prospect has taken action and started using the software means they will
be spending time and effort interacting with your SAAS. The more they interact, the
more time they invest, the more likely to they are to retain the subscription.

For any users that decide not to keep the trial, ask them why? This is a golden
opportunity to gain insights into shortcomings in your SAAS.

Lack of Quality Customer Support
SaaS solutions need to be deployed with adequate customer support. Customers need to
know that their queries are going to be comprehensively answered in a timely manner.

44
You should have a quality help desk set up using Hesk or Kayako (an SaaS in the Help Desk
Market). Do not mess around with online web forms, or having customers send all support
queries to one email address. The ticket based system is far superior, will cut down on the
time factor considerably, and with features such as FAQs with Possible Solutions -- it will
lighten your work load.

In time you might be in a position to offer real time support via online chat facility. Kayako
again provide this service. This dedication to customer support or lack thereof can often be
the difference between success and failure.

Poor / Incomplete instructional Materials
All software has an inevitable learning curve. When designing the SAAS you should have
spent a great deal of time simplifying the Graphical User Interface, removing unnecessary
complexities, and making it as intuitive as possible. This task is done for you with an off the
shelf solution thats proven to work.

Consider Apples iPhone or iPad, theyre so intuitive that a novice could get the hang of them
in 5 minutes. Always strive to create a solution like this.

You need to create a library of instructional videos and written guides. Some people prefer to
watch videos, others prefer to read instructions, you need to provide both.

Remember the better your instructional materials are the less frustrated your customers, the
lower the refund rate, the lower the attrition rate, the lower the level of customer support
queries, the more passive income you will make.

All you need to create step-by-step instructional videos is a copy of Camtasia. Its easy to use
and youll have professional grade videos in minutes.

Launching A Bug Ridden or Incomplete Product
Recall how I suggest that we leverage OPE or Other Peoples Experiences in order to test the
product? This necessitates bringing in a Beta group of people a few months before you
launch, and get them to use the software extensively and to report any feedback.

They are of course happy to do this for you because they are getting all the benefits of using
the software for FREE. Thats right they are getting a FREE lifetime license for their efforts.

Its well worth it for you because you will uncover bugs that would have not been uncovered
if it wasnt for these OPEs. Furthermore you will be able to get positive testimonials out of
this Beta group, which will be an essential element of your sales page.

Not Evolving With Customer Feedback
You need to leverage your existing membership for ideas to enhance your product offering.
Use tools such as Survey Monkey to find out what they think of your SaaS. What they like?
What they dont like? Things they feel need to be improved? New features they cant live
without?

45
Take their feedback into consideration and tweak your SAAS accordingly. What you will
find it that your potential prospects are looking for the same things that your current
customers seek. By adding these features to your product, you can update your sales page
accordingly and you will find that your conversion rate will increase.

Product evolvement based on customer feedback is thus the most powerful form of leverage I
know.

4.5 How To Promote Maximum Leverage Continuity Programs

Maximum Leverage Continuity Programs are best promoted using the same strategies as the
Freedom Continuity Programs.

These strategies include:

Sniper Review Sites targeting buyer keyword phrase both long tail and competitive
(as explained in the previous section for Freedom Continuity Programs)

Video Reviews targeting buyer keyword phrases both long tail and competitive, using
verbs such as how to to trigger video retainers on Google Page One. (as explained in
the previous section for Freedom Continuity Programs)

Email Marketing (as explained in the previous section for Freedom Continuity
Programs)

Authority Sites (as explained in the previous section for Freedom Continuity
Programs)

Other strategies worth considering for promoting Maximum Leverage Continuity Programs
are listed below:

Cross Sell Like SAASs
Create 2 or more different SaaSs that complement each other. You can then cross sell one
SaaS from the other. You could offers coupons or discounts for members that join both
services. This strategy has explosive monetary potential.

You could also set up a joint venture / partnership with other SaaSs in your niche, and cross
promote each other. A WIN-WIN solution.

Create Upsell Packs For One Time Product Vendors
Build an Upsell Pack and give it away to product vendors to build into their sales funnel.
This is extremely powerful. Take this example. I sell a cutting edge course on how to get
your videos ranking on page one of Google for ultra competitive terms. Its called Video
Marketing To Page One.

Imagine if Traffic Geyser came to me (a complementary SaaS product) and said here is a

46
high conversion upsell page that you can just slot into your backend. Customers that buy
your Video Marketing To Page One are automatically sent to this page, and you get
recurring commissions on every upsell.

Now Imagine if Traffic Geyser offered this to every vendor they could find that offered
complementary products? They would be creating multiple streams of high conversion
traffic. Furthermore its traffic that vendors of the front end products had to work for, not the
SaaS owner.

Guys really think about this its so powerful. Its the perfect example of leverage.

You are leveraging other peoples time OPT to do all your traffic generation for you. It
wont cost you a cent, it wont cost you time, and you will be getting pre-qualified
customers with a proven propensity to purchase. The only cost is the affiliate commission,
and thats not even a cost because they are self financing.

Create An Affiliate Page that Goes Beyond Anything Seen Before
Most affiliate pages features access to affiliate links and one or two swipe files, but why stop
there?

You need a multi faceted approach that will enable your affiliates to create multiple streams
of traffic to your site. Swipe files are useful but not every marketer has a list, fewer still have
lists that will bring you in 100 sales plus.

I highly recommend that you create a mammoth affiliate page that contains as many of the
following items as possible.

Long Swipe File
Short Swipe File
Solo Ad Copy
A Sequence of Follow Up auto-responder emails they can permanently add to their
auto-responders
A list of quality long tail keywords worth targeting
Review Articles of your SaaS that can be posted on blogs, article directories etc.
Video Reviews of your SaaS that can be posted on blogs, video sharing sites, social
networks
20 to 30 different tweets that they can program into SocialOomph for a continuous
stream of social media traffic to your site
Viral Reports that enable them to enter their affiliate links and distribute around the
Internet.
Email Signatures that they can add to their email client sig files for automatic sales
Forum signatures they can use
Graphical banner ads that feature strong call to action
Direct Response Ads
eCover graphics
Badges your customers can post on their sites
Video animations

47
Viral software
Upsell Packs
Resell Packs give them the resell rights to a related eBook complete with website,
copy, and upsell of your SaaS. They do the work getting the traffic, that makes you
autopilot sales.
Free Reports that help them to pre-sell your product
Bonuses they can use to incentivize action
Badges they can put on their download pages
Webinar slots you have available
Exit scripts they can use to send exit traffic from their site to your
Pop unders and pop overs they can use to send traffic to your site

Partner With Marketers Selling Complimentary Products

You could and should track down Internet Marketers that are selling products complimentary
to your SaaS. Target big bloggers that come up from Google searches on keywords related to
your niche. Get them to put your banner ads on their sites.

Use sites such as JVnotify Pro to find upcoming launches for products that would be
complimentary to yours. Get them to put badges promoting your product on their download
pages. Some might even agree to promote you to their lists.

5.0 Final Thoughts

This course will be a huge eye opener for many people. They are conditioned into thinking
that business models such as CPA, CPC, Blogging, perpetual launches of eBooks /Plugins,
membership sites etc. are the ONLY options when it comes to making money online.

The truth is that none of these models provide the type of Freedom or Leverage that the two
models I have discussed in this course do. Promoting Freedom Continuity Programs and / or
Creating SaaS sites is the fastest route to financial freedom online.

I recommend you start with promoting Freedom Continuity Programs. Its easy to get
started with little or no money down. Affiliate Marketing is the easiest money you are going
to make online, but there is nothing more powerful than focusing your efforts on the affiliate
programs that offer monthly recurring commissions. Every Internet Marketer should be
promoting a suite of these cash pumping programs.

Even if you are a complete newbie, you should start working towards the Maximum
Leverage Continuity Model. Follow the steps outlined in this course and commence doing
the ground work necessary to pinpoint the niche, the competitors, the master features list,
writing the business plan, checkout ready made scripts or approaching investors and so forth.

I guarantee you if you commit to focusing on these two Digital Money Tree Models you
will create lifetime streams of passive income that will support you and your family long into
the future.

Im often asked what is the secret to becoming an online millionaire and the answer is
unquestionably LEVERAGE. Ive now given you the steps you need to take in order to
LEVERAGE all the processes you need to succeed online. The rest is up to you.

All you need to do it to resolve to take MASSIVE ACTION. Do something every day that
moves you towards your goals. If you do that then you can, you must, you will SUCCEED.

Im Martin A. O Flynn and thank you for reading Digital Money Trees.

Good luck and god bless,
