B. The procedure of teaching vocabulary noun through wall picture in the class.

In teaching vocabulary noun through wall picture method, the teacher need to follow some procedure in order to make the teaching learning activity run well. The teachers try to teach vocabulary noun of transportation through power point to improve students memorizing. The information that some procedure there are: 1. Preparation Before the teacher entered the class, she must prepare her lesson plan and the material will teach to the students. The teacher also brings the materials, such as some noun picture, glue, to the classroom. 2. Application The teacher usually starts the lesson by greeting the student and checking the attendance list. It is support by the result of the using this method that the teacher always greet the student when they start the lesson. The activities during the teaching and learning process the classroom. a. Classroom The teachers prepare the picture about nouns and show to the student. b. Teachers Explanation Teacher explains the lesson by reading the text carefully. Then, the teacher gives the material to the students to write the difficult or strange words. This is the patterns apply by the teacher in teaching vocabulary noun through wall picture are: 1. Greeting the students and asking some questions related to the students condition. 2. Having a listing of the sight words that the students are to know and read. 3. Showing pictures and have students pick which one does not rhyme (table, chair, cupboard, book, bag, etc) 4. Creating a class story about the school and have pictures to

match each sentence. This is Novis bag. 5. Showing to the students a word and have them write all words associated with that word and group those words. 6. Having students identify vocabulary by topic show them pictures of ten occupations. 7. Explaining the meaning of the words and pronouncing it. 8. Evaluating the lesson by asking some questions related to the topic and asking some vocabularies that they learn. 9. Closing the lesson by greeting and asking the students feeling about teaching and learning process of vocabulary noun through wall picture. c. Closing Teacher asking the students feeling about teaching and learning process of vocabulary noun through wall picture.

C. Subject of the Research


1. Population Population is all subjects intended to be investigated. Population has at least one common characteristic (Arikunto, 1998:102). The population of the research is the students of the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 1 Purwodadi in the academic grade 2010/2011. They are three classes, which is class VII A has 40 students; class VII B has 40 students. 2. Sample In a research, all members of population should be researched. But it is possible to research a part of them as the sample. The sample however must be really representative to all population. In brief, sample is a part of the subject/population that should be observed or part of population that can be researched (Arikunto, 1993:104). In this research, the writer takes class VII A and VII B of the seventh grade students SMP Negeri 1 Purwodadi in the academic grade 2009/2010 as the sample. 3. Sampling The sampling technique that is used in this research is random sampling. According to Suhadi (1986: 73-74) stated actually there is not scientific rule of how many sample of the population. And to avoid mistakes caused by the small sample is by giving some requirements. And to take the sample of this research is based on; if the population is less than 100, it would be better to take all population as the sample, and if the population is more than 100, population 20-25% of the population or 25% of it based on the capacity of the research.
