Dear Student

Herewith the 2014 registration information. You will receive your detailed registration letter and registration form after the 1st of January 2014 in your myuwc email account. You may also visit the UWC Website, click on student and registration information. There are two options available for you to officially register as a student in 2014, namely self-registration (online registration) or the assisted registration process in the Main Hall. ONLINE REGISTRATION Online Registration will commence as of 6 January 2014. If you do not have access to the internet you may go to a designated computer laboratory in your faculty or the Thintana computer lab to do your online registration. Faculty staff will be available to assist you.

ASSISTED REGISTRATION FEES The following fees are applicable for the 2014 registration and must be paid before registration: R3900.00 as a non-residential student. R4400.00 if you are a resident in one of the university residences. Full-cost bursary holders are required to pay the R1 100.00 registration fee. International students are required to pay all their fees in full (registration, tuition and residence fees) prior to registration. RPL, age and conditional exemption applicants are required to pay an additional R410.00 for the matriculation exemption application. The assisted registration process in the Main Hall will officially start on Friday, 17 January 2014 and ends on Saturday, 25 January 2014 . Please note that students in the faculties of Law and Dentistry are reminded to register at their respective faculty offices. Law and Natural Science students your respective registration schedules are on the University Website (click students and registration information) Please ensure that you bring your registration form with you which will be emailed to you after the 1st of January 2014 to your official myuwc email account.

Payment Methods All payments must be made payable to the University of the Western Cape. Fees may be paid using the following methods: Cash, debit card, credit card or cheque at our Cashiers on the Ground Floor West Wing building Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Credit card payment will be accepted online at www.uwc.ac.za Postal order or foreign drafts using the account details given below

COMPULSORY DOCUMENTATION Outstanding documents such as matriculation certificates, ID documents, study permits, etc. should be presented to the Student Administration Helpdesk or checkpoints in the foyer of the Main Hall. Please ensure to receive a receipt as proof of submission of documents.

Students may contact the UWC Contact Centre on 021 959 3900 from the 6th of January 2014 to ascertain which documents are outstanding. CURRICULUM ADVISING Students must attend faculty curriculum advising sessions and have your registration form signed. Please consult the university website and or your respective faculty for further information regarding curriculum advising sessions. GENERAL Classes will commence on Monday, 27 of January 2014 . Students who qualified for a SDA or a special exam must please note that they will only be able to register after 20 January 2014.
