1. What is your educational background? (Degrees obtained, schools attended, etc.) Graduated from The Ohio State University as a student athlete with a B.A. from the school of Journalism & Communication

Tell us about your involvement in the Rockwood School District.

Active volunteer with REACH PTO for the past four years; Co-Chair REACH PTO Activities past two years; A part of the teacher grants committee the past two years; participated in the Picture Rockwood initiative. The involvement has allowed Dominque Paul to be apart of enhancing the Rockwood community through the constant effort of connecting families.

3. What other organizations are you involved with and what is your capacity with that organization? Active volunteer through a local community group. Various organizations I am able to volunteer with would be: Ronald McDonald House, Purple Stride St. Louis, and the St. Louis Food Bank. l also have an online community of over 240 members (West County Mom Connection) to assist area parents connection and create a sense of community with all of West County.

How will you move the district forward in a positive direction?

Moving this district in a positive direction through restoring public trust and focusing forward. The perception of the district has been tainted, but it is time to recognize the tremendous amount of effort the district has put forth to remedy various situations. Being a positive advocate for the students, teachers, staff, and parents will only strengthen the district as a whole. Restoring the morale is critical to the success of the district to ensure everyone is putting forth the effort needed for a Rockwood all will be proud of.

5. How will you ensure the new Superintendent is successful? How will you support him/her in their first year of work? The new Superintendent deserves to have a fresh start that is not consumed with issues of the past. Though bringing the new Superintendent up to speed to avoid future pitfalls is important, it should not be the only focus which could hinder progress further. As a Director on the Rockwood Board, I would make it clear, I am here to support him/her in all endeavors to ensure the district as a whole is successful. Allowing the conversations to be two-way so there is never miscommunication and we are able to work as a team because we all have the same goal, which is the success of our children.

6. What qualities do you think are important to be a member of the Rockwood School Board? What makes you qualified to be a member of the Rockwood School Board? The qualities a board member should have would be a genuine concern for the success of the district. In the end, the bottom line is the success of all students and a board member should understand the mission of 'we do whatever it takes to make sure all students realize their potential'. A productive board member should be open to listening and hearing all concerns throughout the district and finding real solutions to address those concerns. A qualified member should have exposure to the Rockwood environment and apart of enhancing its community. 7. Is there any other information you would like to share about yourself?
