Proposed Project for Funding

The Purpose of this project is to facilitate and expansion plan for the farm which will increase the production level by sixty percent to one hundred percent [60%-100%]. Currently the farm operates a ten 10 sow one 1 Boar production which produces two hundred 200 piglets per year which can be Harvest at one hundred and twenty lbs. per pig; twenty four thousand Pounds 24,000lbof pork per year. "When we move operations to our new home, we anticipate that we will more than double our production. We have been partnering with approximately 400 pig farmers from 10 parishes, but there is potential to expand to almost 1,000 pig farmers when the new plant is opened and operating at capacity," Gifford said. It is against this background that Gifford is convinced that the export initiative has come at an opportune time. In light of these great investments in the industry and my present appointment as Executive Secretary for the Jamaica Pig Farmers Association, I am positioning the Pig Farm for the new Demands of the industry and increase Profitability.

The Expansion Project entails:

1. The Construction of Five 5 Finishing/Fattening pens Approximately 900sq feet in Size @$1,000 per sq. = $900,000.00 2. Construction of a concrete water tank to house two 1000 gallon tanks for proper water supply. $45,000.00 3. Construction of proper Concrete Drainage systems for waste management. $50,000.00 4. Purchase of a 2000watt Generator for Power.$50,000.00 5. Purchase of a Power washer Machine for pen cleaning.$40,000.00 6. Purchase of 4 Pure breed Canadian F1 Gilts to increase productivity $180,000.00 7. Purchase of 6 months supply of feed to fatten to Market.$500,000.00 Total Project Cost. $1,765,000.00 I have started the First, Second and third item on the list totaling Nine Hundred and Ninety Five Thousand Dollars $995,000.00of which I have invested Six Hundred and Forty Thousand Dollars and I am now seeking a Loan from your institution to complete these items and the rest. The Loan amount I am seeking is One Million Jamaica Dollars 1,000,000.00 to be repaid at a preferred lower interest rate over a term not exceeding five years. With the completion of this Project the farm would be able to Produce and house twenty Sows and Two Boars, producing 400 pigs per annum Forty Eight Thousand Lbs. of pork for market. This translates to Generation @ $150.00 per Dress Weight @120lb i.e. $18,000.00per pig For the year $18,000.00 X 400pigs= $7,200,000.00 in Gross Revenue Putting the Farm in a great financial Space to Service the loan repayment.
