The body of the Constellation is made from a forged grade five titanium alloy more usually found in high-performance racing cars and spacecraft, that is two-and-a-half times stronger than stainless steel, yet only half its weight. The sapphire crystal screen is not only virtually impossible to scratch, it is strong enough to resist the impact of a 200g steel ball being dropped on it from a height of one metre.
