The short-circuit. protective device coordination and arc flash ha!ard analysis studies shall be conducted under the responsible charge and approval of a 4egistered $rofessional Electrical Engineer s9illed in perfor"ing and interpreting the po0er syste" studies. B. The 4egistered $rofessional Electrical Engineer shall be an e"ployee of the equip"ent "anufacturer or an approved engineering fir". /. The 4egistered $rofessional Electrical Engineer shall have a "ini"u" of five 1)2 years of e>perience in perfor"ing po0er syste" studies. D. The approved engineering fir" shall de"onstrate e>perience 0ith Arc Flash a!ard Analysis by sub"itting na"es of at least ten actual arc flash ha!ard analyses it has perfor"ed in the past year.

E. The engineering fir" shall have a "ini"u" of t0enty-five 1-)2 years e>perience in perfor"ing po0er syste" studies. .07 CO$PUTER ANALYSIS SOFTWARE A. The studies shall be perfor"ed using SA? Syste"s Analysis $o0erBTools for =indo0s 1$T=2 soft0are progra".

PART 2 PRODUCT
2.0 STUDIES A. The contractor shall furnish an Arc Flash a!ard Analysis Study per #F$A %&E -Standard for Electrical Safety in the =or9place. reference Article (5&.5 and Anne> D. This study shall also include short-circuit and protective device coordination studies. All studies to be prepared by Square D Engineering Services. 2.02 DATA A. /ontractor shall furnish all data as required for the po0er syste" studies. The Engineer perfor"ing the short-circuit. protective device coordination and arc flash ha!ard analysis studies shall furnish the /ontractor 0ith a listing of required data i""ediately after a0ard of the contract. The /ontractor shall e>pedite collection of the data to assure co"pletion of the studies as required for final approval of the distribution equip"ent shop dra0ings and/or prior to the release of the equip"ent for "anufacturing. B. Square D shall notify @0ner in 0riting of any significant deficiencies in protection and/or coordination. $rovide reco""endations for i"prove"ents. 2.05 ARC FLASH HAZARD ANALYSIS A. The arc flash ha!ard analysis shall be perfor"ed according to the 'EEE ()*+ equations that are presented in #F$A%&E--&&+. Anne> D. The arc flash ha!ard analysis shall be perfor"ed in conEunction 0ith the short-circuit analysis 1Section -.&52 and the protective device ti"e-current coordination analysis 1Section -.&+2 The flash protection boundary and the incident energy shall be calculated at significant locations in the electrical distribution syste" 1s0itchboards. s0itchgear. "otor-control centers. panelboards. bus0ay and splitters2 0here 0or9 could be perfor"ed on energi!ed parts. /ircuits -+&8 or less 0here available bolted short circuit current is less than (& 9A "ay be o"itted fro" the co"puter "odel and 0ill be assu"ed to have a ha!ard ris9 category & per #F$A %&E Table (5&.%1/21621a2. including footnote 5. /ircuits -+&8 or less fed by transfor"ers ((-.) 98A or less "ay be o"itted fro" the co"puter "odel and 0ill be assu"ed to have a ha!ard ris9 category & per 'EEE ()*+. =or9ing distances shall be based on 'EEE ()*+. The calculated arc flash protection boundary shall be deter"ined using those 0or9ing distances. =hen appropriate. the short circuit calculations and the clearing ti"es of the phase overcurrent devices 0ill be retrieved fro" the short-circuit and coordination study "odel. <round overcurrent relays should not be ta9en into consideration 0hen deter"ining the clearing ti"e 0hen perfor"ing incident energy calculations The short-circuit calculations and the corresponding incident energy calculations for "ultiple syste" scenarios "ust be co"pared and the greatest incident energy "ust be uniquely reported for each equip"ent location in a single table. /alculations "ust be perfor"ed to represent the "a>i"u" and "ini"u" contributions of fault current "agnitude for nor"al and e"ergency operating conditions. The "ini"u" calculation 0ill assu"e that the utility contribution is at a "ini"u". /onversely. the "a>i"u" calculation 0ill assu"e a "a>i"u" contribution fro" the utility. /alculations shall ta9e into consideration the parallel operation of synchronous generators 0ith the electric utility. 0here applicable as 0ell as any stand-by generator applications. The Arc-Flash a!ard Analysis shall be perfor"ed utili!ing "utually agreed upon facility operational conditions. and the final report shall describe. 0hen applicable. ho0 these conditions differ fro" 0orst-case bolted fault conditions. . The incident energy calculations "ust consider the accu"ulation of energy over ti"e 0hen perfor"ing arc flash calculations on buses 0ith "ultiple sources. For each piece of A#S' rated equip"ent 0ith an enclosed "ain device. t0o calculations shall be "ade. A calculation shall be "ade for the "ain cubicle. sides. or rearF and shall be based on a device located upstrea" of the equip"ent to clear the arcing fault. A second calculation shall be "ade for the front cubicles and shall be based on the equip"entDs "ain device to clear the arcing fault. For all other non-A#S' rated equip"ent. only one calculation shall be required and it shall be based on a device located upstrea" of the equip"ent to clear the arcing fault. =hen perfor"ing incident energy calculations on the line side of a "ain brea9er 1as required per above2. the line side and load side contributions "ust be included in the fault calculation. ?is-coordination should be chec9ed a"ongst all devices 0ithin the branch containing the i""ediate protective device upstrea" of the calculation location and the calculation should utili!e the fastest device to co"pute the incident energy for the corresponding location. Arc Flash calculations shall be based on actual overcurrent protective device clearing ti"e. A "a>i"u" clearing ti"e of - seconds 0ill be used based on 'EEE ()*+--&&- section B.(.-. =here it is not physically possible to "ove outside of the flash protection boundary in less than seconds during an arc flash event. a "a>i"u" clearing ti"e based on the specific location shall be utili!ed.

PART 3 E'ECUTION
3.0 FIELD ADJUST$ENT A. /ontractor shall adEust relay and protective device settings according to the reco""ended settings table provided by the coordination study. (OPTION) Field adEust"ents to be co"pleted by Square D Services under the separate Startup and Acceptance Testing contract portion of proEect specifications. D. 7abels shall be printed by a ther"al transfer type printer. 0ith no field "ar9ings. E. Arc flash labels shall be provided for equip"ent as identified in the study and the respective equip"ent access areas per the follo0ing3 (. Floor Standing Equip"ent - 7abels shall be provided on the front of each individual section. Equip"ent requiring rear and/or side access shall have labels provided on each individual section access area. The technician providing the installation shall have co"pleted an *- our instructor led Electrical Safety Training /ourse 0ith includes #F$A %&E "aterial including the selection of personal protective equip"ent. 3.03 ARC FLASH TRAININ! (OPTION) A. The vendor supplying the Arc Flash a!ard Analysis shall train the o0nerDs qualified electrical personnel of the potential arc flash ha!ards associated 0ith 0or9ing on energi!ed equip"ent 1"ini"u" of + hours2. The training shall be certified for continuing education units 1/E:s2 by the 'nternational Association for /ontinuing Education Training 1'A/ET2 or equivalent. The trainer shall be an authori!ed @S A @utreach instructor. B. The vendor supplying the Arc Flash a!ard Analysis shall offer instructor led and online #F$A %&E training classes.
