Upgrade your TFE731 engines with N1 Digital Electronic Engine Controls

Reduce maintenance, enhance engine power management and improve control reliability
Eliminates control trimming Eliminates high power run-ups after control change out which reduces fuel usage for ground runs Provides repeatable, predictable engine performance Improves control reliability Weighs less Features drop-in compatibility Want the very best reliability, engine operating control and monitoring for your TFE731-powered aircraft? And a way to reduce engine wear and maintenance? Eliminating the need for electronic control trimmingand almost like giving your engines a permanent, solidstate tune-up, Honeywells N1 Digital Electronic Engine Controls (N1 DEEC) improve TFE731 power management and engine temperature limiting. These new controls can help you reduce engine wear by enhancing exceedance protection and providing trend monitoring. They provide a host of benefits for both flight crews and maintenance personnel. Consider these benefits: Component repair cost savings Component weight reductions Fuel use reductions due to decreased ground run requirements Maintenance labor savings

Improved power management and engine monitoring

The N1 DEEC reduces pilot workload by providing flight crews with predictable and repeatable takeoff and climb settings. The new N1 DEEC prevents fan speed overshoot and rollback of the target N1 at takeoff. Another advantage: climb power setting schedules are programmed into the N1 DEECreducing the need for power lever adjustments. The N1 DEEC accurately holds engine power settings, eliminating drift. This new DEEC also helps protect your engine investment by adding automatic temperature limitingwith exceedance protection during start, take-off and climb. And, because it monitors and records engine events, performance and trends, the N1 DEEC can help spot problems long before they are visible to flight crews. Built-in manual mode dispatch capability is includedwith no additional test equipment required.

Two year ROI

On top of all its maintenance and power management benefits, the N1 DEEC can pay for itself in less than two yearseven if you fly as little as 400 hours annually.

Doubled reliability, reduced weight

The N1 DEECs solid state design and reduced part count dramatically improves reliability (doubling that of previous analog EECs) and reduces weight by as much as 9 lbs. per control. (Shown above is the new N1 DEEC, at left, and the previous model, at right.)

Saves maintenance time and cost

The time previously needed for electronic control trimming has been eliminated as well as the high power run-ups after control change out. Greater fault isolation has improved component troubleshooting. The N1 DEEC can help reduce engine wear through its temperature limiting function.

Drop-in replacement
The N1 DEEC is easily installed in the same location as the existing EEC/DEEC. Falcon 50 and Falcon 900 aircraft require minor aircraft modifications due to DEEC locations. An optional PC Data Downloader cable can be attached to the J2 test connector for easy access to stored data.

Enhanced engine monitoring

This new DEEC provides Engine Condition Trend Monitoring for performance trending, event recording, fault history and life cycle information tracking and includes auto-recording of Jet-Care required data.

PC data downloader
For complete analysis and reporting of engine trends and performance, a laptop PC Data Downloader feature extracts Engine Condition Trend Monitoring (ECTM) data from the N1 DEEC in minutes. Available data for download includes: Engine usage statistics N1/N2 roll-down trends Automatic usage tracking Fault history Engine exceedance monitoring of N1, N2, and ITT Engine event recording from pilot event switch and automatic triggers. Performance trend monitoring PLA usage profiles N1/N2 spool speed data ITT temperature profiles

Available through Maintenance Service Plan

For operators enrolled in MSP, analog Electronic Engine Controls (EECs) and digital (N2) DEECs will be replaced with digital N1 DEECs when existing controls require removal and replacementor at the next scheduled core zone inspection (CZI). MSP Gold operators receive an N1 DEEC upgrade at the next scheduled MPI.

Enhanced troubleshooting
Improved built-in test logic provides greater component fault identification and isolation.

Real-time analysis of N1 DEEC ECTM data available through e-Engine web site
The Honeywell e-Engine web site interface provides immediate feedback of engine status based on uploaded ECTM data. Automatic ECTM data file transfer to Jet-Care is also provided to speed-up trend monitoring analysis lag time.
