PREFACE
Recently, an international office (IO) of higher educational institution is taken into account as part of international cooperation due to its role in many relevant activities, firstly to prepare an arrangement or agreement with partner universities, and secondly to provide assistance on its activities implementation such as student or faculty member exchange, joint research or even to provide hospitality to international students from their arrival until their departure to home countries after the completion of study. IO's duty do not stop until this point, since there is also a need in maintaining data and information on numbers of cooperation, number of international students enrolled each year, etc. The sustainability of international academic activities or events, the increasing of international students each year would be considered as indicative factors of trust from international community to institutional services on educational fields. Seeing that the trust from international communities to Indonesia n higher ,education institutions is growing and international cooperation on education has been progressively establishing, we set a directory consists of information on IO of some universities in Indonesia. With blessings from The Almighty, we finally present the first edition of Directory: International Office of Universities in Indonesia, to provide prospective partners with description and contact persons of each university. This also will be helpful for them who want to study in Indonesia. Next edition will be enriched, since some universities have not submitted their information yet. In this edition, its content divided into several regions to describe specialty and uniqueness of each region. May this directory will be helpful for domestic and internat ional use, and will trigger the higher educational institutions to develop its international programs in collaboration with other partners outside the country.
