Earnest Farms is a small-scale, family-owned business located in Bolton, MA.

Founded by partners Ben Schlosser and Sofia McDonald Games in the fall of 2012, the farm produces a growing variety of soy-free & GMO-free meat and dairy products.

OUR MISSION
Earnest Farms is a farm business LLC that seeks to transform our agricultural and food distribution system into a sustainable, local industry that makes great food with the side-effect of rejuvenating our environment instead of destroying it. By practicing regenerative agriculture, we seek to promote land, animal, and human well being. We aim to improve the land through sustainable soil nourishment, the environment through a focus on human, solar, and animal-powered production, and community food consumption through the distribution of nutritious, local, and organic food to the tables of families around Massachusetts.

OUR ANIMALS
We raise all of our animals on lush, well-managed pasture. Animal diets are supplemented with organic, soy-free, GMOfree grains that are sprouted and ground inhouse for optimal animal digestion. All of our animals act as mobile planters, harvesters, and, most importantly, fertilizers, infusing the soil with natural, nitrogen-rich material. They renew the land they work on by distributing manure, grazing grass before it goes to seed, and turning over biomass with their feet. Every animal plays a vital role in this integrated management system. Our goats and sheep prune plant vegetation; our pigs gently stir the soil and restart the growth cycle of pasture while tilling undesirable invasive species; our fowl (a flock over 300 strong) aerate soil, clean up bugs, and produce bountiful eggs and meat.

OUR PRODUCTS
Chicken Eggs: Our eggs are laid by our flock of 300+ pastured chickens. We supplement their diets with organic, soy-free, GMO-free grains that are sprouted and ground inhouse. Now available in Foodies Urban Markets and direct off the farm. Pasture Raised Farm Fresh Pork: Our heritage mix-breed hogs were raised on the pastures of the Minuteman Airfield in Stow, MA. From the weaning age of two months, their portable housing was rotated twice daily to expose them to fresh, green pasture and sunshine. Grass, weeds, bugs, tubers, organic vegetable waste, and our eggs supplemented their diet of soy-free, organic, sprouted peas, corn, wheat, barley, flax, and minerals.

IN THE WORKS
Plans for Nigerian Dwarf goats, broilers (meat chickens), rabbit, duck, and lamb are in development. Farm produce will be available on site and at Foodies grocery stores in Summer 2014. To inquire about these products, please do not hesitate to call, email, or pop by!

Earnest Farms meat products are processed in an USDA-certified and inspected facility. Our farming methods exclude the use of antibiotics, chemicals, hormones, and pesticides. We observe organic animal health practices for disease and parasite protection.
