3.5 Pushbutton Preference [PREF] Selection PREF can only be activated when Automatic Mode (AUTO) is selected and Circuit Breaker is closed. The generator, which is selected as preference, is the generator in sequence, which will come on line and stay on line. The first stand-by generator the next one in auto mode When no Preference is selected the preference sequence will be done by number of generators or running hours. If a generator is selected as preferred, the next generator in the sequence, which is in auto and not on line, will be selected as first standby.

3.6 Generator Pre-alarm. In case of pre-alarm the next Auto Mode selected generator in sequence will start and go on-line. After load transfer the faulty generator switches off and stops, after the cooling down period 120 sec. 3.7 Generator Stop-alarm. In case of stop-alarm, the Circuit Breaker of the running generator will be opened and the generator stops immediately with no cooling down period. The next Auto Mode selected generator in sequence will start and go on-line. 3.8 Generator Start / Stop at load demand.

3.8.1 Starting. When the load-demand is above high level, (P > 90% during 5 sec.), the system will start the next generator in sequence (in auto mode), bring it on-line, and the load will be shared. Note: percent and time can be changed during commissioning 3.8.2 Stopping. When the load-demand is below level (P < 45% during 600 sec and there is more than one generator on-line), the system will take off generator load, open the circuit breaker and (after the cooling down period 120 sec) stop the next generator in sequence (in auto control) Note: percent and time can be changed during commissioning 3.9 Reverse power protection

The CB is to be provided with reverse power protection with time delay, selected or set within the limits of 2% to 15% of full load (set 8%). and a time delay of 5 sec. 3.10 Emergency power-up main switchboard (PMS broke) . After a blackout and the PMS isnt functioning for a certain generator, it is possible to get power on the Main busbar as follows: Switch off the GENSYS control and power supply, of the faulty generator. Select manual position on the generator circuit breaker inside the cabinet. Start generator from the local generator control panel.

Charge the spring of the generator circuit breaker manually (if needed). Switch generator circuit breaker manually on. Organise a 50% load level on the faulty generator and adjust the frequency at 50Hz or 60Hz (locally). A second generator set can be brought on-line by starting the generator in the manual control selection, and synchronise that generator to the faulty generator by the raise and lower push buttons. Close the circuit breaker by push button circuit breaker on. The circuit breaker will close only on a synchrony moment. Be aware of equal load sharing by manual operation of the faulty and healthy generator set. In case second PMS isnt functioning the second generator set can be brought on-line as follows: Switch off the GENSYS control and power supply, of the faulty generator. Select manual position on the generator circuit breaker inside the cabinet. Start generator from the local generator control panel. Charge the spring of the generator circuit breaker manually (if needed). Organise a synchrony moment on the zero voltmeter with the speed potentiometer Switch generator circuit breaker manually on. CAUTION When stopping with parallel running, you must keep the HEALTHY GENERATOR ON-LINE and, FIRST OPEN the CIRCUIT BREAKER of the FAULTY GENERATOR, and STOP the FAULTY GENERATOR. IMPORTANT Do not forget to put the (faulty) generator circuit breaker back from manual to auto control on the circuit breaker inside the cabinet.

Shore supply

4.1 Switching to the Shore Supply When running on one generator supply, and activating the shore circuit breaker close pushbutton, the system will synchronize with the shore power, close the shore circuit breaker, and (before 0.5 sec.) opens the generator circuit breaker (if shore power is available). The maximum ships load is a certain maximum 60% of one generator. If the ships load is higher, the shore circuit breaker closing is blocked. 4.2 Switching to the Generators When running on shore supply, and activating the generator to start ((Auto-)manual-Auto), the system will start the generator, synchronize with the shore power, close the generator circuit breaker, and (before 0.2 sec.) opens the shore circuit breaker. The system will run in parallel with shore for 0.2 sec and will not have a blackout. 4.3 Pushbutton [SHORE CB CLOSE]:

Only functioning when shore power is available. - In case of a dead bus: the CB is closed immediately. - In case of a live bus, and one generator running, the PMS will synchronize the generator to the shore power and close the shore circuit breaker, and (before 0,5 sec ) opens the generator circuit breaker. Closing of Circuit Breaker is always inhibited when generator speed is not correct. 4.4 Lamp (green) SHORE CB CLOSE flashes during closing command of the Circuit Breaker. Lamp SHORE CB CLOSE is on when Circuit Breaker is closed. Lamp SHORE CB CLOSE is off when Circuit Breaker is open. Pushbutton [SHORE CB OPEN]:

This opens the shore CB immediately, if seamless transfer is needed from shore to generator power, activating a generator to start (in AUTO mode) will have the PMS system synchronizing the started generator to the shore power. Lamp (red) CB Open lights when Circuit Breaker is opened. Lamp CB Open is off when Circuit Breaker is closed. Lamp CB Open flashes only during opening of Circuit Breaker when synchronizing with a started generator ( in Auto. Mode

4.5 Non-preferential tripping. When the power supply becomes critical, (P > 100% during 6 sec or f < 47.5Hz), and there is no other generator available (in AUTO mode) the system will shut off non-preferential consumers (step by step) to maintain the power supply with the existing generators on line. The sequence off tripping can be: 1st 2nd 3 4th 5th
