Nikola Tesla

Nikola Tesla (en cirlico: ), (Smiljan, Imperio austrohngaro, actual Croacia, 10 de julio de 1856 Nueva York, 7 de enero de 1943) fue un inventor, ingeniero mecnico, ingeniero electricista y fsico de origen serbio y el promotor ms importante del nacimiento de la electricidadcomercial. Se le conoce, sobre todo, por sus numerosas y revolucionarias invenciones en el campo del electromagnetismo, desarrolladas a finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX. Las patentes de Tesla y su trabajo terico formaron las bases de los sistemas modernos de potencia elctrica por corriente alterna (CA), incluyendo el sistema polifsico de distribucin elctrica y el motor de corriente alterna, que tanto contribuyeron al nacimiento de la Segunda Revolucin Industrial. Tesla era tnicamente serbio y naci en el pueblo de Smiljan (actualmente en Croacia), en el entonces Imperio Austrohngaro (aunque algunos acadmicos rumanos afirman que era istrorrumano).1 Era ciudadano del Imperio austriaco por nacimiento y ms tarde se hizo ciudadano estadounidense.2 Tras su demostracin de la comunicacin inalmbrica por medio de ondas de radio en 1894 y despus de su victoria en la guerra de las corrientes, fue ampliamente reconocido como uno de los ms grandes ingenieros electricistas de los EE. UU. de Amrica.3 Gran parte de su trabajo inicial fue pionero en la ingeniera elctrica moderna y muchos de sus descubrimientos fueron de suma importancia.

Tesla's patents and theoretical work formed the basis of modern electrical power systems by alternating current (AC ) , including the polyphase system of electrical distribution and the AC motor , which greatly contributed to the birth of the Second Industrial Revolution. Tesla was an ethnic Serb born in the village and of Smiljan (now in Croatia ) , in the then AustroHungarian Empire (although some scholars claim it was Romanian Istro-Rumanian ) .1 Was a citizen of the Austrian Empire by birth and later it became a citizen estadounidense.2 After his demonstration of wireless communication through radio waves in 1894 and after his victory in the war of the currents, was widely recognized as one of the greatest electrical engineers of EE . UU . America.3 Much of his early work pioneered modern electrical engineering and many of his discoveries were of utmost importance.
