X Children and Youth international choregraphy competition Riga spring 2014 and Choreographers contest
International Contest allows young performers and choreographers to know and evaluate one another, as well as consultation to establish joint projects and share their experiences in return. The contest participants will be assessed by a professional jury of the Latvian and foreign choreographers, as well as contemporary art specialists. Aim: Popularize the meaning of dance in harmonic personality development. Stimulate new and creative dance choreography development. Encourage dance association and educator international cooperation and exchange of experience.

27.-28.04.14. 18:00 oclock Gala, Award ceremony Competition progam and information about master classes and workshops are published in March 2013. All participants provided a broad program outside the competition: Master classes and performances. The boundaries of the project has expanded considerably, and even, in some of its characteristics, it becomes more like a festival of works by young choreographers, rather than on competition with clear winners. However, the jury, based on their professional experience, will be called upon to determine the most promising young talented choreographers, capable in the future affect the development of modern dance.

Age Groups: 1. 12-14 y.o. 2. 15-17 y.o. 3. 18-26 y.o. III Professional choreographers contest Main objective - to find opportunities for young talented choreographers to test their skills and creative insights of modern art of dance on the large stage Entries must be notified within three nominations: 1. Classical dance and stylization 2. Folk dance theatrical and stylization 3. Modern dance and stylization Production footage up to 10 minutes Contest is open to choreographers aged 18 years who submit an application during the competitive Organizing committee and undergo a selection contest

Evaluation: Evaluation will be in 10 grade system Results of competition will be published after the competition Jury has rights to award extra special nominations Evaluation criteria: Artistic performance in general Technics of performance Composition Choreography and harmony with music accompaniment Conformity of repertoire with dancers age individualities In competition will be evaluated work of choreograpers-educators and custume designers Choreographers art: style/idea/novelty Award ceremony: Grand Prix 1000 Ls in each of the three categories 1 Prix for each nomination Special prizes from jury All participants of the final will receive official participation certificates as well as memorable gifts Funding: Groups 3 Eur/pers.
