The whole idea about this poster is actually represent the concept of embracing the Mother Nature by supporting the Ecocampus campaign. Since Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) is now one of the university that practicing the Ecocampus approaches, as a student, it is my duty to support the effort in protecting and preserving the health of our campus and our planet as a whole. Therefore, to begin with, the idea of the poster was inspired by one of the Ecocampus mission, which is to reduce the carbon footprints. White and green colors was chosen as the base color because green represent the color of nature, the environment, and also brings the sense of freshness to the livings. While white as the second main color was chosen because, white is a more universal color that can blend with any other color and also the characteristic of white, which is pure and brings the sense of security and healthy. This I would say that green and white best represent the needs of us, a better environment and fresh air, worthy for the present and welfares for our future generations. Moving on to the quote, EVERYONE IS RESPONSIBLE; this is meant to attract the eyes of the communities, especially UMS community to realize and take the responsibilities to protect our nature and environment. This responsibilities is not meant for one person and only but the whole community should contribute and start to play their own roles. Further explanation is explained by the vector arts which includes the footprints-which represent walking, cyclistrepresent cycling, bus- representing the usage of bus and also carpooling-meant sharing a car. All of these activities can contribute to reduce the combustion of CO. In addition, by practicing these practices, taking example, by cycling, it does not only make our body become healthier, but we are able to reduce the CO combustion. All in all, this poster was made in the most simplified version, and used more pictographs that words because I believe that this generation especially the young generations are more attracted to pictures rather than reading lengthy sentences and explanation. Thus, best hope that this poster can contribute to increase the awareness of the campus community, specifically, and the public, generally. To wrap up, support UMS Ecocampus for a better future!
