News and Prayer Letter February 2014

Grace and peace to you through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Already, 2014 is a month old and we are looking forward to what God will do this year. Evangelism, Prayer, and Patience These three words are what our team strives to keep at the forefront of our ministry. We live in a microwave culture that wants everything accomplished quickly. It is easy to allow this mindset to creep into planting a church. The reality is that planting a church takes time. Over the last few months, God has been challenging us to continue to be faithful in proclaiming the Gospel to the lost, praying for the lost, and waiting on Him to give the increase. We continue to see God deepening relationships and opening new ones with people in the community, which is very encouraging since we have been actively engaged for just 5 short months. Sunday Meetings One of our goals was to have a launch service in the Spring of this year. Maybe this was a bit optimistic, but it was a goal we had. The Lord does not appear to be opening the door at this time for a full blown launch service, which is OK with us (our plans are in pencil:). Instead, we believe He is directing us to begin meeting with 1-2 interested families. We will begin fellowshipping and worshipping with them while we work through who we are, what we believe, what is a local church, etc. We would like to begin meeting in April, and covet your prayers as we prepare for this next step.
Equipment provided I mentioned last month that the Lord has provided several items that we would be able to use as we begin services here. Last Thursday, Dennis headed out to York, PA with another pastor to pick those items up with a rental truck. They got to the other side of Pittsburgh and the truck lost power. For whatever reason, the Lord didnt want them making the trip that day. However, we still need to get these items. Pray that the weather (and the truck) would cooperate next week so we can get these items back to Pittsburgh. The church needs them out of the building by the end of February.

Not as fun as going down!

Ministry at Middletown Road Baptist Church We would not have been able to raise support without MRBCs love for Christs church and their commitment to seeing it multiply. We have slowly been stepping away from our ministry with them. Many dont realize, but even as weve stepped away they have continued to pay Dennis salary through the end of this month! They are more concerned about seeing the lost redeemed than whether they are getting their moneys worth from a staff member. Please pray for our church as they seek direction moving forward. We love them dearly, and look forward to reaching Pittsburgh together with them in the years ahead.
