Home Agent (HA) Application Process


Thank you for your interest in Convergys. This document contains step-by-step instructions for completing the stages of the Home Agent application process.

IMPORTANT NOTES Keep an eye out for IMPORTANT NOTES or content in BOLD CAPITAL LETTERS. This is important information you need to read. Check your email often for messages from Convergyswe may need to relay or obtain additional information throughout the process. Check junk mail/spam folders just in case. Stage 1 Search Jobs for Home Agent Positions


1. Launch a web browser. 2. Go to http://www.convergysworkathome.com.

3. From the home page click on

The Convergys First Career website will open in a new window, showing all available Home Agent positions.

Stage 2 Create or Access Your Convergys First Account


In order to Apply Online or Add to My Job Cart, you are required to have an account. Once you click Apply Online, you are prompted to log in to your existing Convergys First account or register for a new account.

To create a new account, click New User to get started. Accept the Privacy Agreement. Complete the fields on the New User Registration screen. Accept the Privacy Agreement, again.

Stage 3 Complete and Submit Your Application in Convergys First


After you created your account in Convergys First or logged in as an existing user, complete the following screens to continue with the process: Resume/CV Upload, How did you hear about this job?, Your Personal Information, Your Experience, Your Education, Application Questions, Position Related Questions, Additional Questions, Assessments, Your Documents, eSignature, and Summary.

IMPORTANT NOTE Your application must contain complete work history, education, and all position related skills and experience. Additional information is provided on the right side of each screen, should a question arise.

IMPORTANT NOTE After you submit your application, check your email for a link to test your computer.

Stage 4 Email with Link to Test Your Computer


You will receive an email from Convergys Recruiting to test your computer, Subject: PC Test Request for Home Agent Positions at Convergys. (If you cannot locate the testing link, please check your junk mail folder.) If you do not receive an email asking you to test your PC, please log back in and verify that your application is completed. If all information is complete and you have not received the link you will be contacted by our staff.

Before Proceeding to the PC Test


We test your computer in the following three areas: PC Hardware Test, ISP Speed Test, and Voice Quality Test. IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE PROCEEDING TO THE PC TEST You must be hardwired to a router. Convergys Home Agent platform does not support any wireless Internet connections or devices (keyboard, mouse, monitors, etc.) Be at the location and computer you will work from. Be sure to take the PC Test from the computer and location you plan to work from. Read through the PC requirements online: PC Requirements You must pass in all three areas of the PC Test to qualify for a Home Agent position.

You may take the test unlimited times until you pass. After completing each test once, pass or fail, you will hear from us by phone or email with more information to assist you. You may want to restart your computer before proceeding to the PC Test. After passing each test one time, we recommend taking them again to ensure the passing scores a second time.

Technical Requirements for a Passing Score


PC Hardware Test 3.0 GHZ Processor (minimum of a Pentium 4 processor or equivalent processor running at a clock speed of 3.0 GHZ) 2 GB RAM Wired router Internet must be Cable, DSL or Fiber Optics (no wireless or satellite) PC must have a vendor manufactured date less than six years in age as some older models are not compatible with our secure environment (Example: If today's date is 1/1/2012, the PC manufacture date should be no older than 1/1/2006) ISP Speed Upload speed must be a minimum .40 mbps. Download speed must be a minimum 1.20 mbps. Voice Quality (VOIP) VOIP test scores must be above 3.8 at ALL times NOTE: You will not need a headset for testing your PC.

Stage 5 Test Your Computer


Click the "Test My Computer" link in the email. A browser window will open noting that the software is loading. "Software is loading, please wait."

A pop-up window will display asking you to Run the Convergys PC Test. Click Run.

After clicking Run, delays sometimes occur. If you see the following screen and message, be sure to click "Click Here to wait another 30 seconds."

Finally, look for the following message to continue on to the actual test. Be sure to click "The testing software is ready. Click this message to proceed" at the bottom of the message.

You should now see the Technology Testing screen.

Select your location and proceed to the PC Hardware Test, ISP Speed Test, and Voice Quality Test. IMPORTANT NOTE The PC Test is complete when a yellow bar at the top of the screen reads: "Testing is complete sent to Convergys." After completing each test, pass or fail, you will hear from us by phone or email with more information to assist you. Retake each test by clicking "Click to Restart" at each test. Or, you can test again later by going back to the link in your email. You may retake the tests multiple times.

PC Test Troubleshooting Tips

If you experience problems or issues while testing, you may want to restart your computer and try again. Or, you can contact the Convergys Recruiting Department at recruiting.workathome@convergys.com or 1-888-284-9900 for assistance. Failed PC Hardware Test You may receive the following warning messages. DSK - Hard drive space does not have enough space. Action: Delete items from your computer to make space. WHID - Wireless keyboard or mouse has been detected. Action: Acquire a keyboard or mouse with cords (not wireless). WLAN - No wired network could be determined (router needs to be connected). Action: Connect your router to your PC with an Ethernet cord. Contact your Internet Service Provider if you need more information. Failed ISP Speed Test Please contact your Internet Service Provider to ensure that you are receiving your appropriate upload and download speeds. Upload speed must be a minimum of .40 mbps. Download speed must be a minimum 1.20 mbps. Failed Voice Quality Test The VOIP test needs to be 3.8 or higher in all sections. If you have a home router or firewall, this port must be open/enabled to internet traffic to successfully execute the test. Are you using a wireless USB headset? If so, please unplug it when running the test. Make sure there is not a cell phone within 10 feet of your PC when running the test. Disable any cable or softphones while running the test. Make sure there are not any other devices sharing your internet connection, I.E. another PC, XBOX 360 Live. Close any other applications while running the test. Do not download and/or upload any programs while performing the test. Are you using a wireless router? This could cause issues. Your PC needs to be hardwired to a router. Do not forget to disable your wireless adaptor while running the test.

Stage 6 Schedule a Phone Screening

During this stage, a recruiter will contact you by phone or email to schedule a phone screening to ensure you are qualified for the position. The initial screening can take up to 30 minutes.

Stage 7 Final Interview


You will be contacted by phone or email to schedule a phone interview. The interview can take up to 30 minutes. Once the interview is complete, you will receive final notification informing you if you were selected for the Home Agent position by phone or email. If an offer of employment is extended, you will be required to purchase an approved analog headset and flash drive. Both items must be present on day 1. Only approved models of headsets and flash drives are acceptable. Convergys reserves the right to disqualify an applicant at any stage or any step during the application process.

Stage 8 Email with Assessments


Links to the Assessments are emailed to you after completing your final interview. Offer will be contingent on the completion of your assessments. It is important to complete these as soon as possible. Opportunities for employment are contingent on successful passing scores. Once you have completed your assessments you will be contacted by a recruiter by phone or email. IMPORTANT NOTE Based on the position you have interviewed for the assessments sent to you will vary. People Answers: For this assessment you will create a brand new username and password to log into your account unless you have previously created a People Answers account password. Kenexa: For this assessment you will be sent a session ID number via email in order to log in. Please check your email for login information. You will complete a behavioral assessment as well as technical assessment in the following areas: Call Center Inbound Sales Skills PC Skills and Comprehension 1 Minute Timed Typing Test
