Sylvania Mercury Reflector Lamps combine the directional advantages of reflector incandescent lamps with the high output features of Mercury sources. Reflector lamp sources are actually fixtures in thernselves since their internal construction includes built-in ref lectors and a variety of other characteristics which provide for various types of beam distribution. Witir the addition of two more lamp types to its present line of h/ercury Refiector Lamps, Sylvania now ofter-q the most complete line in the industry. The new 175 watt R-40 affords all the advantages of directional reflector lighting plus the high lignt output of Mercury in a compact size lamp for floodlighting small to medium areas. The new 1000 watt R-80 on the other hand is designed for really king-size applications where high intensity plus directional beam control provide the advantages of a lamp and fixture combined in one convenient package.

The application possibilities for Sylvania Mercury Reflector lamps cover a wide range of uses. The R-60 400 watt types are ideal for many outdoor installations such as gas stations, baseballJields, golf driving ranges,
and parking areas.

The R-57 400 watt types lend themselves ideally to lighting high bay areas such as in factories and foundries, especially where there is a considerable amount of dust or f umes in the area. They are also used for sports arenas and large auditoriums. The PAR-38 types perform such unique tasks as decorative lighting for trees and ornamental shrubbery, blacklighting murals, as well as for the more prosaic functions of inspection lighting in industry. Good color rendition is available in a full line of color improved mercury lamps. Sylvania's color improved phosphors produce a strong blue-white light which renders an amazing degree of color fidelity for identification of cars, packaging, and many kinds of indusirial processes. When used with filters, spectacular color effects are possible for building facade lighting and other such decorative functions.
