ADVERBS

Adverbs are words that give us more information about the action performed by
the verb. They say how, where, when the action is done. They are also qualifiers of
a sentence, an adjective or another adverb.
TYPES
Manner: Quickly, fast, well, slowly, easily, carefully.
Place: Here, there, up, down, in class.
Time: Now, soon, tomorrow, yesterday, last night*.
Frequency: Sometimes, often, never, always, seldom, twice.
Degree: very, quite, rather, too, enough, almost
POSITION
MANNER: These answer the question HOW?. They usually go after the direct
object, or if not, after the verb. It can never go between the verb and the direct
object.

He speaks English well

PLACE: The same rule follows as above. But if there is also an adverb of manner in
the sentence, the adverb of place goes after it.

TIME: These usually go at the beginning or at the end of the sentence. The final
position being the more frequent of the two.
