Born and raised in the capital city, so you can bet I was exposed to a whole lot of things. But even though that was the case, coming from a Christian home I was brought up with disciple of the highest order. Every Sunday was church day. But I was never a dancer then I used to be a singer . My younger sister and I were known as the brother and sister choir. Years went by and singing was still my thing. As the years went by I started to dance but in church. It all started in the church, just as my singing did. But it when I entered my first dance competition, Dance Africa hosted by Channel O in 2007 when I realised that this is where am meant to be, that dance is what I want to do.
7 years later and am still dancing and am not about to stop. Dance is my life and thats all that surrounds me, from the moment I wake up to the very moment I lay in bed.
In the 254, dance is alive and people know about. Sure, there are several dance competitions that pop up from time to time . There are several events that have dance performances and also artists who use dancers for stage performances and in their videos. But the million dollar question is, are dancers really appreciated in this country? Many are the times I have heard dancers say that they arent appreciated for the kind of work they do. My
