leading men and women to...the God who speaks in the Bible.
OUR MISSION
O is to be a teacher of teachers. We want to raise up a new generation of priests who are fluent in the Bible and lay people who are biblically literate. For us, this means more than helping people know their way around the Bible. It means equipping them to enter into the heart of the living Word of God and be transformed and renewed by this encounter.
The most urgent task is that of the biblical and liturgical formation of the people of God, both pastors and faithful. ~ Pope John Paul II
AND PURPOSE
We read the Bible from the heart of the Church, in light of the Churchs Liturgy and living Tradition. In this way, we hope to help people experience the heart-to-heart encounter that Jesus disciples experienced on that first Easter night, when they knew Him in the breaking of the bread: "Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked to uswhile He opened to us the Scriptures?" (seeLuke 24:32)
.S H . Full of great audio, video and written material, our website reaches more than fifty thousand people a month...and counting.
Our monthly publication, Breaking the Bread is helping priests and deacons prepare their weekly homilies. Lay people by the thousands have made it part of their prayer and preparation for Mass.
Our Social Media presence continues to grow exponentially through new multimedia projects. Our Facebook page has exploded to over 25,000 likesand continues to expand, dramatically increasing our web presence and outreach.
Letter and Spirit, our groundbreaking academic journal is bringing the work of the Churchs most exciting and faithful biblical scholars into Catholic seminaries and universities.

Answering the Holy Fathers declaration that Catholics need to be trained to understand, live and proclaim the word of God, we created Journey Through Scripture, our dynamic parish-based Bible study program.
The goal of Journey Through Scripture is to help ordinary Catholics grow in their knowledge of Scripture and deepen their faith. The program currently includes: G J T B V M T B C F T B M T B S T B P
Though the program has exploded, spreading to more than a dozen countries, weve only begun to scratch the surface of the need. With growing urgency, the Church has repeatedly called for a New Evangelization. To answer the call and reach even to the ends of the earth, we need to produce a professional, video version of Journey Through Scripture. Our goal has always been to help ensure that the best Bible study in every town is a Catholic Bible study. Adding videobased studies to our existing live version brings that goal one step closer to reality.

In his message for the 44th annual World Communications Day, Pope Benedict said, Gods loving care for all people in Christ must be expressed in the digital world not simply as an artifact from the past, or a learned theory, but as something concrete, present and engaging. More Catholics than ever before can do that through our YouTube Channel, which you helped us launch. The St. Paul Centers YouTube Channel features an ever-expanding library of videos about Catholic doctrine and the Church.
Social Media makes it easier than ever for Catholics to learn and share their faith. Its part of our answer to the Popes call for Catholics to use the tools of the new media to share the Gospel. To further that aim, our new office building will allow us to include a recording studio and new equipment devoted to increasing our presence on the internet through our existing website, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and othe new mediums that will surely arise. We also have plans for radio, podcasting, and greater video production.

Interest from Spanish speaking Catholics in the St. Paul Center is growing at lightning speed. We continue to receive an increasing number of requests for videos, publications, and training materials in Spanish. Our desire is to expand the Spanish-language portion of our Website to include more free Bible studies and provide Journey Through Scripture trainings in Spanish across the country.

We want to give our seminarians and seminary faculty the best resources possible, encouraging their biblical catechesis through the priceless gift of a Seminarians Book Shelf and scholarships for an Annual Letter & Spirit Conference. Having a class with Dr. Hahn in the seminary was like drinking out of a fire hydrant. The Seminarians Book Shelf was huge in furthering my understanding of scripture and allowed all the materials to always be at my fingertips. ~ Fr. Stechway (Former Seminarian)
