Executive Director Oversee the operations of a retirement community comprised of 153 independent living apartments, 60 assisted living apartments and 120 beds health care center. Owned by Capital Senior Living, a for profit company. Upon starting, filled several key positions within 12 weeks, including Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, MDS Coordinator, Recreation Director and Human Resource Director. Opened the new Assisted Living Facility. Obtained the residential license for the facility and hired key staff members for Assisted Living. Developed plans to renovate the Health Care Center first floor from a 35 bed residential floor to a 56 bed licensed comprehensive care unit. Obtained the comprehensive license from the State. Developed operational and capital budgets for each of the facilities. Assisted with the planning of the renovation of the independent living area. HERITAGE VILLAGE, Kankakee, IL 1995 - 1998

Executive Director Hired to complete new skilled area and start a new assisting living center. Not-for-profit continuing care center that is total private pay. Facility is licensed for 130 beds providing Shelter and Skilled Care. Assisted Living facility is an unlicensed facility comprised of 26 apartments. Developed and implemented new computerized billing program that provided improved accounting records and easy to read statements for families. Switched over from contract service to our own Dietary Department that improved food service, client satisfaction, and saved $10,000 monthly. Developed and implemented new purchasing procedures that provided control of purchases with approved vendors. Initiated and implemented comprehensive marketing program and Medicare Alternative Program that increased occupancy from 85% to 95%. Building program for Skilled Care and Assisted Living. Opened new Assisting Living building. Assisted with negotiations for merger.

Executive Director Brought in to manage failing retirement community/nursing facility started as a non-profit venture for Indiana University community retirees. Community purchased by O.F.C. Corporation, a private venture with no prior related experience. Community included approximately 100 life-care contracts. Responsible for supervision of over 135 employees, including 10 department heads. Prepared and presented budget, developed marketing programs, preventive maintenance, long range planning for buildings and grounds, social services, activities, transportation and all other areas involved in 62 bed nursing facility, 184 housing units and all ancillary activities. Increased Skilled and Comprehensive Nursing beds from 25 to 40, obtaining all state approvals. Designed architectural changes; managed construction liaison on project of over $1 million. Built new assisted living wing of 22 private rooms and common areas. Brought overall village occupancy from 78% to 98%. Achieved profitability for first time in history of community. Achieved zero deficiency Board of Health surveys. Managed complete computer conversion, writing programs for all aspects of nursing home and residential operations. A.R.A. Administrator Served as Administrator to turnaround a facility (200 beds) that had received very poor surveys. Hired new Director of Nursing, developed quality staff and achieved highly improved survey ratings and occupancy. Out of the companys 200 centers, this facility achieved a rating in the top twenty regarding occupancy and profitability.
