Prayer is a time to remember what Jesus did for usto be thankful for all that God has given

to us. Prayer is powerful. It can connect us with your Savior. Great graces flow from Heaven when we pray. Mother Theresa said Listening is the beginning of prayer.Prayer is a conversation with God that can help us maintain a relationship with God, and part of every conversation is listening. This conversation can help us maintain and build our relationship with God.

Prayer is like having a pen pal from a foreign country. You never see who is responding to you, and when they do, it is often difficult to understand their response. No matter what though, you can always count on that person to respond. Prayer is a call to God. A call to God for help, help in our lives, help for our friends, help for our families. Prayer is a call to God for thanksgiving, thanks for our friends and families. When we reach out to God, he grabs our hand and helps us along lifes path.
Prayer is a special connection with God. Its how we communicate our thoughts and feelings with him. He may not answer each of our prayers in the same way, but he is always there, answering our prayers. Watching, protecting and guiding us. Prayer is like an inner peace. Like the light at the end of the tunnel, the calm in the storm. Like a cleansing rain, prayer clears us of all things weve been holding back. Prayer is like a super power. We can use it for a variety of things, whether were praying for those in need or praying to say thank you. Through prayer many amazing things have been accomplished. Lets now focus on using this super power God gave us so we can make amazing moments of our own. Prayer is reflection, the way we look at our lives and see the blessings God has given us. Prayer is communication with God, a friendly conversation with a good friend. Prayer is an expression of giving forth of our deepest feelings, wants, needs and pains. Prayer is the remedy for our troubles. Prayer is a central part of our faith. It is our connection to God. But we often take it for granted. Today, during prayer I ask you all to listen. Listen to the words and reflect on our faith. Leave behind your worries about school and spend a moment with the Lord. Prayer comes from the latin word orare which means to request, from a higher being. When we pray we are requesting, from the higher being. Prayer is a time for us to escape from the struggles of our everyday life and focus our heart and minds on god. So, lets calm ourselves and take a break as we talk to God.

Prayer is communication, its a 2 way street. Part of it is talking, but the other part is listening. Sometimes we become so absorbed in what were asking God for or talking to him about that we forget to listen. Next time you pray, take a moment to listen to what God is saying back to you.
