January 24, 2014 Brooks Coleman 3919 Hillside Drive Duluth, GA 30096 Dear Mr.

Coleman, Do you think we will be able to live our lives without gasoline? Not unless we use another source of energy to run our cars and use that source for our daily living. Having advanced technology in our state of Georgia shows other states we are not ignorant about growing technologies in other parts of the world. Although many sources of energy have caused pollution such as gasoline, but we should all realize we are working with a non-renewable resources in which will sooner or later become extinct for over one-hundred years until it builds up again. Georgia needs to start industrializing itself with electric powered energy such as electric cars. Georgia needs to start to create many electric based cities and towns for the good of our future. Much of the world is starting to discover new ways to power their countries and transportation without creating pollution. The use of electric powered automobiles can lower the amount of pollution made in the area; especially the city of Atlanta that is such a densely populated city not to mention it is built mostly of industry and the metro. The city should have a foundation of electricity including electric powered buses and taxes, the metro should be transformed to a much faster way to get employees and students from one place to another. Since, technology is not as advanced yet, you should propose the rest of the committee to also add charging stations in the gas stations. If forty-four electric powered vehicles were used instead of gasoline powered vehicles it could prevent 76,000 kilograms of carbon dioxide from being released onto our Georgian society. Imagine what change that could do to the environment in Atlanta! You want to have everyone in Georgia to have the opportunity to start getting use to the world that is changing around them. Which is why the price of electric cars should be reduced for a year or two to allow some citizens to purchase electric automobiles. How would you expect Georgia to take a step towards the future if they cant afford it? As a Georgia eighth grader of district ninety-seven, I propose we use more electric power in Georgia instead of gasoline and harmful energy. Automobiles powered by electricity or solar energy can both prepare us for a future of no gasoline and reduce air pollution along with preventing the burning of the Ozone layer in our earths atmosphere which in fact protects everyone from the suns radiation. Cities in Georgia should be prepared for what is to come in the future, which is why Georgia should start to build electric powered cities; not to forget the use of electric automobiles. Sincerely,

Liz Palacios 332 Suwanee Avenue Suwanee, GA 30024
