Rental Accommodation for Older People - Greater Auckland (NUY 2009).

This listing covers rental accommodation provided specifically for older people. It includes assisted
living, cottages and serviced apartments. There is a shortage of this type of accommodation in Auckland
and most places have a waiting list. Housing New Zealand now has responsibility for the housing stock
previously held by Auckland City Council. In areas with both Housing NZ and Council housing, there is
often good liaison between the two. Accommodation in a retirement village may offer communal
amenities and care facilities on the same site. All costs include GST.
