1. Introduction

This manual specifically explains the basic operation and cautionary items for wireless POS-530S under the system mode.

This manual is particularly designed for the staff in charge of second-development and relative users of wireless POS-530S.

4.1 System Mode Press Power Key to turn on the POS, press Fn and 2 (as a combination key) simultaneously, hold on until the screen displays! System Password ", then input corresponding password (the default password of the system shall be ! 111111111111", sixteen ! 1"s in total). Next, enter the following System Mode by pressing the key ! ENTER"

4.2 System Function Select 1. System Func into the system function you will see the following menu

4.2.1 System Information System Info mainly displays relative configuration information of the POS

4.2.2 Password Modification The item Password is mainly used for password modification while entering System Func.

Shift the cursor to the item Password through the Down Arrow key or press the Number Key 2, next, press ! ENTER", then enter the interface for selectingtochange the password or not:

Change Password 1#Yes 2#No :

Select Yes, and enter the interface for changing password. Then the user can input relative password as you wish via the keypad (The new password should be input twice. The modification becomes effective only if the 2nd input is exactly in correspondence with the 1st input; otherwise, error will occur. );

Select No, and the password would remain unchanged. The system would return to the interface of System Func.

4.2.3 System Setup The item Setup is mainly used to set the IP address, time and LCD backlight of the Pos. Shift the cursor to the Item Setup through the Down Arrow key or press the Number Key 3 directly in System Fucn mode. Press ! Enter", and enter the interface System Setup as follows: System Setup 1# Network 2# RTC 3# Backligt

Select Network, then press ! Enter", you can enter the interface Network Setup as follows Network Setup 1# LocalIP 2# Netmask 3# Gateway

Item LocalIP is mainly used for the setup of IP address of the POS (to be in accord with the setup of IP address), such as 9.100.2.147.

Item Netmask is mainly used for the setup of mask code, such as 255.255.255.0.

Item Gateway is mainly used for the setup of gateway address, such as 9.100.2.254. Select RTC in System Setup mode, then press ! Enter", the user can enter the interface for time setup. Pressing the key ! BACK" can delete the time paramenters set currently; Pressing the Arrow up Key (which is equivalent to shifting to the left) can change the time.

Note: the allowed range of the time setup should be between 2000-00-00 00:00:00 to 2099-12-31 23:59:59. Select Backlight in System Setup mode,, then press ! Enter", the user will enter the interface ! Turn on Backlight" as follows: Turn On Backlight 1# Yes 2# No

Select Yes, and return to System Setup. LCD backlight would be turned on (system$s default state);

Select No, and return to System Setup. LCD backlight would be turned off.

4.2.4 System Application Item Application is used for the download and the deletion of application programs, as well as the setup of server addresses and ports etc.

Shift the cursor to the Item Application or press Number Key 3 directly in the System Setup mode, then press ! Enter", to Select the Application download mode as follows:

Application 1# Download 2# Delete

Select Download, then press ! Enter", you will see the Download Menu as follows: Download Menu 1# Download 2# Config

Note: Before selecting Download, the IP address and port of the server for downloading application program shall be set, and the net shall be linked, thus the POS can have normal communication with the server; as for the detail setup, you can refer to the Item Config.

Select Config in the Download Menu to enter the interface of setting the Server IP and ports. After corresponding setup, press ! Enter". Please conduct the setup as follows:

Server IP Address 9.100.2.145 Server Port 8163

Connect the POS with LAN (Local Area Network) via a LNA switching line, make sure that the pos can communicate with the server normally, and then select Download, if the screen displays ! Update App% Finished", it means that the download is successful; if the screen displays ! Connect Server Fail", it means that the download is failed, and the network connection shall be checked.

Note: If the download fails when the server runs normally, please check whether the firewall is turned off by the server side.

For detail you can reference with Application & Development Manual 2.3.2

4.3 API Test Select API Test in the System mode Menu to enter the API test mode

4.3.1 Beeper Check whether the beeper can work normally.

Choose ! Beeper"

in API TEST mode and press ! ENTER", the screen shows ! Press Any

Key", then the user can operate any key except the power key and cancel key to check the beeper. Beeper Test Press Any Key

Press cancel to exit

4.3.2 Printer Check whether the printer can work normally.

The printer inspection includes picture printing, English character printing, Chinese character printing, print speed and the Black print Printer Test 1. Bitmap 2. English Text 3. Chinese Text

Select corresponding item to print the sepecified content. Select 7, and press ENTER key can check the feeding function, and press any two keys can stop feeding. In addition, press the combination key ! Fn+1" can also control the feeding function, stop feeding by releasing the keys. Note: Keep printing for too long can cause typing head hot, the info. Print Fail! will display. It can work normaly after a time.and if the battery is too low the print can"tBe process normaly please charge it

4.3.3 Keyboard Check whether the key value can be read. Choose ! Keyboard" in API TEST mode and press ! ENTER", the screen displays corresponding key values when pressing relative number keys, while corresponding first letters would be displayed when pressing other function keys, two key value at the most can be displayed simultaneously, as follows: Keyboard Test Key Value:[ 1 ][ 2 ]

Note: pressing the combination key cancel + 1!to exit the key test process

4.3.4 LED Check whether LED can display normally Choose ! LED follows: Led Test 1. LED_ALL_ON 2. LED_ALL_OFF 3. LED_LCD_ON in API TEST mode !and press ! ENTER" to the ! Led Test" interface, as

4.3.5 LCD

Check whether LCD can display normally. Choose ! LCD" in API TEST mode and press ! ENTER", you can press any key (except the power key and cancel key) to check the font display,Press cancel to exit

4.3.6 MGCard Check whether it can read the MG Carder normally Choose ! MGCard" in API TEST mode and press ! ENTER", the screen displays ! Please Swipe Card%", put the magnetic side downward the LCD, and swipe it with a certain speed. It supports bidirectional swipe, as follows:

After correct card-swiping, the track information of the magnetic card will be displayed, you can press ! ENTER" ,! UP" or !DOWN" key to turn page for viewing,and Press cancel to exit

4.3.7 ICCard Check whether it can read the IC Carder normally. Choose ! ICCard" in API TEST mode and press ! ENTER", the screen displays ! Card Not Present" if no IC Card inserted; ICCard Test Card Not Present

The screen shows corresponding return data when an IC Card is inserted. ICCard Test Operate IC Card%

ICCard Test Card Operate Success Press Enter See Detail Press Cancel Exit

Press ! ENTER", the IC card information will be displayed, keep pressing ! ENTER" ,! UP" or !DOWN" key to turn page for viewing the info. Exit with the ! Cancel" key.

Note: The interface of IC Card should be upturned and inserted along the IC Card slot.

4.3.8 SAMCard Check whether it can read the SAM Card successfully. Choose" SAMCard" in API TEST mode and press ! ENTER" to the ! SAM Card Test" interface, as follows:

SAM1 and SAM2 are corresponding separately with two SAM card slots. The screen shows corresponding datas if the SAM card exists, keep pressing ! ENTER" ,! UP" or !DOWN" key to turn page for viewing the info. Exit with the ! Cancel" key.

Note: The SAM Card slot is behind the battery; SAM Card can only be installed after the battery is uploaded.

4.3.9 Battery Check the current bettery power, voltage, current and temperature. Choose ! Battery" in API TEST mode and press ! ENTER", the corresponding information would be Displayed as follows,Press cancel to exit; Battery Test Volume: 82% Voltage: 7868mV Current: 116mA

4.3.10 GPRS Module Check whether GPRS conection is normal. Choose"Module" in the API test mode and press ! ENTER" to the ! GPRS Test" interface. GPRS Test Connect to GPRS%

If you already insert the sim card and the network is nomal, and corresponding configuration in the gprs-connect-chat file It will shows connect success

By the CANCEL key to return to the interface layer.

Note: N on behalf of signal integer value. N values range from 1 ~ 31, when N> 15 when the signal indicates that the volume of a normal state, the greater the value, the better the signal.

4.3.11 PINPAD Check whether the entered PIN code can calculate the PinBlock correctly. Choose ! PINPAD" in the API test mode to enter into ! PINPAD Test" interface. Show as follows: PINPAD Test PadSerial: Pad10808111800001

Display a string of serial number, press ! Enter", showing as follows: PINPAD Test Enter Password:

Input the Pin number, press "Enter" to encrypt the Pin number.

4.3.12 Security Check whether the security key is lost or not. Choose ! Security" in the API test mode, the screen shows ! Security Diagno Passed" to indicate the key is not lost, as follows: Security Test Security Diagno Passed

The screen displays "SecurityBugFound" if the security key is lost.

4.3.13 MifareCard Reader Check whether it can read and write the Mifare information correctly. Select ! MIFARECard"in the API TEST mode, the screen shows !No Card" when there is no card or it is the non-Mifare card. MIFARECard Test No Card

The corresponding Mifare Card information will be showed when the Mifare card is close to the induction zone of POS. MIFARECard Test SerialLen:4 Serial: 36 fb 4e b5 Press !ENTER" to enter into the MIFARE card function menu, as follows: MIFARE Fun 1. Read 2. Write 3. ChangeKey

!1"Select ! Read" can read the MIFAREcard information. Press ! ENTER" to the ! MIFARE Card Read" interface, as follows: MIFARE Card Read BLOCK Index(0-15):

MIFARE card is divided into 16 reader sections, you can select corresponding section index No.(0-15) to read the certain information. Relative password need to be inputed after the

index number is inputed. As follows:

Press ! CANCEL" to back to the the MIFARE card function menu. !2"Select ! Write" can wite data into the MIFARE card. Press ! ENTER" to the ! MIFARE Card Write" interface, as follows: MIFARE Card Write BLOCK Index(0-15):

Meantime, you can select the section to be wrote in by the index number; select the corresponding section, press ! ENTER" to the password input interface, as follows: MIFARE Card Write BLOCK Index(0-15): 1

After inputing the correct 6-number password, press !ENTER" to the data input interface, and you can write the corresponding datas. MIFARE Card Write Enter Data(24):

Input When the written data is less than 24 bytes, you need to re-input the password, press ! Cancel" key to cancel inputing. Press !ENTER" after inputing the correct data, the following information will display: MIFARE Card Write BLOCK:1 Write Success

Press !ENTER" when data-input goes wrong, the following error information will display: MIFARE Card Write BLOCK:1 Request Error

!3"Choose ! ChangeKey" can modify the r/w password in the corresponding section of theMIFARE card; press ! ENTER" to the ! MIFARE ChangeKey" interface. As follows: MIFARE ChangeKey BLOCK Index(0-15):

After inputing the certain section index number and press ! ENTER", you need to input the original password, as follows: MIFARE ChangeKey BLOCK Index(0-15): 1

Keep pressing ! ENTER" after input the correct original password, you can input the new password, as follows: MIFARE ChangeKey Enter New Key(6): ******

Input the new password, and press ! ENTER", then you need re-input the new password, as follows: MIFARE ChangeKey Enter New Key Again(6): ******

Press !ENTER" after re-inputing the password, if the passwords you inputed twice are the same, the following information will display: MIFARE ChangeKey BLOCK:1 Set Success

If the passwords you inputed twice are different, the following information will display: MIFARE ChangeKey New Key Different

4.3.14 RTC Check whethe it can read and modify the present RTC correctly. Choose RTC in the API TEST mode, and the present RTC will display. You can press the ! UP","DOWN" keys to modify the RTC. As follows:

4.3.15 USB interface Check whether the POS machine can detect the exchanger between the medium with USB port and the POS normally. First Connect the POS and PC with the special serial cable, and open the hyperterminal. Insert the U-disk, Choose USB in the API TEST mode to enter into the ! USB Test" interface, as follows: USB Test USB Check%

and wait for connecting until ! USB Init Success" turns up. USB Test USB Init Success

Press !ENTER" to the ! USB Config" interface. USB Config 1. Mount 2. Umount

Type ! cd /mnt;ls" to enter into the mnt folder in the hyperterminal interface.

Select ! 1. Mount" in the USB config Menu on POS. It will display ! USB Mount Success" when the mapping relation is set up successfully between usb folder and U-disk. The files can be transferred between U-disk and POS machine freely. USB Mount USB Mount Success

Type ! cd usb" into the usb folder under the root directory of the hyperterminal interface. You can see the files under the root directory of the U-disk. Users can copy some of the files to the /mnt/nand! to be transferred between U-disk and the POS machine.

When umont the U-disk, you need exit the usb folder first in the hyperterminal interface, then Select" 2.Umount" on the USB Config menu, the ! USB Umount Success" will turn up. Press ! Cancel" to exit the ! USB Config" menu, the U-disk can be pulled out.

4.3.16 Logo Check whether it can download and show the logo normally. Relative file: Logo.bmp(128 64 pixel) Execute the DownloadForS530S.exe under Windows, click ! Add" to add the files required to be burned; click ! Start" to start the service waiting download.(Note: Don"t tick off the DefaultLoad! item)

You can set the logo you download as the Start Logo by choosing the !DownloadLogo" option. Press ! ENTER" to the ! DownloadLogo Test" option. Display as follows if succeed: DownloadLogo Test Download Logo Success

Choose the ! DisplayLogo" option to display the current start logo. Press ! ENTER" to display the following:

4.3.17 Sleep Check whether the POS can enter into the standby power-down mode normally or not, whether can be waken up normally. Select ! Sleep"in the API TEST mode option to enter into the ! Sleep Test" interface. As follows: Sleep Test Press Any Key To Send Sleep Command

Select any key (except the power key and the Cancel key) according to the prompt on the interface, the POS will be in the sleep mode. As follows: Sleep Test POS in Sleep Mode

Press any key to wake up the POS when it is in the sleep mode. As follows:

4.4 User serial port test Check whether the POS can communicate with the PC by the serial port.

Connect the POS and the PC with a special line, open the hyperterminal on the PC , and start the POS, keep pressing the combination keys ! Fn+2" until the "system password:" turns up, and then input the password.

Now, press any key on the POS, you can see the corresponding key-press from the PC terminal.

Note: the setting of hyperterminal on the PC is (baud rate 115200, date bit 8, stop bit 1, no odd even parity bit, hardware flow control to close)

First press ! CANCEL+1" on the keybord of the POS. Then the corresponding key-press will be displayed on the screen of the POS when you press any key. Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuv wxyz

Press ! CANCEL+2" keys on the keybord to exit the ! Serial Test"

Serial Test End! Exit after 5 second!

4.5 Phone Test Check whether the Phone is normal Insert SIM card and press Power Key to turn on the POS, presss "Fn+2" until appear"system password:",input the password to enter into ! System Mode" then select the ! Phone Test" interface. As follows:

Enter the phone nuber to dial,Press Cancel for two second to exit

5. Program Update

5.1 Kernel Update Relative files: rootfs.img(root file)%uImage(kernel)%u-boot.bin(bootloader)

!1"Start TFTPservice under Windows, connect the POS and the PC with special lan and serial cable. !2"Start the hyperterminal, and then when the POS is started keep pressing the ! space" key promtly until the U-boot> interface turns up. !3"Input the printenv command to check the current setting information..

The relevat settings can be modified by the setenv command. You can save the settings with saveenv after finished the settings. Update the system file, input 1 in the terminal; update the kernel, input 2; update the U-boot, input 3; displays the following format means can download normally; otherwise, please check the network communication between the POS and the server.

5.2 Download the key If you want to use the POS machine regularly when the key is lost, you must download the key, do as the followings: !1"Start the POS, keep pressing the combination keys ! Fn+2" until ! system password:"

(6) Connect the POS and PC with a special cable, and use the 530KeyDownload.exe software to select the relevant COM port, click to start download.

(7)When key download is finished, the POS screen will display: Security Test Download Success

(8)To run DEMO program normally after finishing downloading the key, you need to select ! Set Parameter" option after starting the DEMO program. Main Menu 1. Sale 2. Trans Detail 3. 5.4 Download the configuration files of the wireless module If you want to use the wireless module of the POS, you should download the relative configuration files: gprs-connect-chat, gprs-disconnect-chat. Refer to 5.3 Download the Font
