#2 Friends.. i am back from Andaman..and I am listing my itinerary and tour details. 1) First day I landed in Portblair and I directly moved to Havlock for 2day and 3night stay. Havlock is very peaceful and main attraction during Andaman visit. It is not commercialized as Goa beaches.

a) For going to Havlock from Portblair 2 things are important. Kingfisher flight from Chennai to PortBlair always arrived around 6. So time will not be an issue for catching ship. Booking a seat in Ship from PortBlair to

Havlock: There is a private AC ship(M.V. Makruzz) from PortBlair to Havlock. During season time it is advisable to book seat in advance. Seat can be booked by the Hotel agent which you are booking in Havlock. Charges are 850 pp. for deluxe seating.. Journey time from Port Blair to Havlock is 1;30 hrs. Ship timing is around 8:45 in the morning. If incase ship is not available then Government ship is also there(Timing 6AM and 11AM) but they are very average as compared to private ship. b) Hotel in Havlock: There is no five star property in Havlock. best property is Barefoot resort which is located to Beach no#7(Best Beach in Havlock) and traiff is around 5000PerNight. They offer discount during non-season time but it will never be less than 4000. I stayed in WildOrchid resport(www.wildorchidandaman.com). This is also good property. It is located on beach No#5. Their tariff was 3000per night. Both property have wooden room and forest like setting. There is a Goverment run resort which is located just next to WildOrchid. Their tariff is around 2000 and have good view of beach. Though if you want to book goverment resort them book atleast 2 month prior to your travel date. c) Place of interest in Havlock: Havlock is full of beaches. Beach no 7(Radhnaghar beach) is one of the best beach in world. Other popular beach in beach no#5. Elephant beach is also another place that can be visited for snorkeling/diving and water sports activites.

Bikes can be rented out in havlock for 200 rs per day.

2) After Returning from Havlock; I stayed in main port blair for rest of my trip. Makruzz ship comes daily at 3:30PM from havlock to PortBlair. It reaches around 5 in Portblair. Port Blair also have limited hotel. Fortune Resort Bay is the best hotel in Portblair with tariff starting from 4000. It has good view of carbon cove*beach. Hotel Blue sea is a good hotel with good veg- restaurant . It is located near to main market and its tariff start from 1500. 3) Next is for local city sightseeing. That include half day for cellular jail. View from the top of the Jail is too good. Also there is light and sound show every day at 5:30 for an hr. So plan to visit this during afternoon time. Other place to visit in Port blair is Carbon cove beach and local market. 4) You can take full day package Portblair for Limestone caves. They are located in Bartang area. This full day trip starts early around 4AM. But this is a worth trip. Limestone cave itself is a natural phenomenon. Also during this trip you will have good view of mangroves and rainforest. This trip cost around 800 per person for a deluxe bus. This include breakfast and lunch and sightseeing. One of the important thing during this trip is tribal area. Bus passes thru tribal area where you can have a look close look at lives of tribal. 5) last one is the one day trip for three

islands. Ross/Barang and North Bay (Coral Island). All of them are near to portblair and can be done as packaged deal for 350 per person. This include lunch and sight seeing. --Vineet Share Share QUOTE
