Excel 2007 AND Function

The AND function is one of Excels Logical Functions. Like most logical functions, the output from the AND function is either the word TRUE or FALSE. To determine whether the output will be T !E or "AL#E, the function e$aluates at least one mathematical expression located in another cell in the spreadsheet.

Syntax:
=AND(logic test, value if true, value if false)

For Ex:
%AND &'()(**, '+)(**, ',)(**.f all three of these cells &'(,'+, and ',- contain a $alue greater than (**, the output for the AND function in cell /( will be T !E. .f an0 of these cells ha$e numbers less than or e1ual to (**, the output for the AND function will be "AL#E.

Combining the AND Function with Other Functions '0 itself, the AND function has limited usefulness. '0 combining it with another function, such as the ." function, the AND function can increase the capabilities of 0our spreadsheet. Example 2 Nesting the AND function inside the ." function %."&AND&'()(**,'+)(**,',)(**-,34$er 'udget3,3Acceptable3Assuming this function is located in cell /(, if all three of these cells &'(,'+, and ',- contains a $alue greater than (**, the ." function will show the statement Over Budget in cell /(. .f an0 of these three cells contain a number less than or e1ual to (**, the ." function shows the statement Acceptable in cell /(

Excel 2007 SUMIF Function The SUMIF function combines two of Excel's most popular functions - the SUM function and the IF function. What SUMIF will do is sum up data in a selected ran e of cells that meet specific criteria. The s!ntax for the SUMIF function is" = SUMIF !an"e# $riteria# Su% !an"e& !an"e - the roup of cells the function is to search. $riteria - determines whether the data in a cell is to be summed up or not. Su% !an"e - the data in this ran e will be summed if data in correspondin cells in the first ran e meets the specified criteria. If this ran e is omitted# the first ran e is summed instead.
