IMMIGRATION NEW ZEALAND INSTRUCTIONS: Amendment Circular No. 2013/17 To: All Manual Holders AMENDMENTS TO THE IMMIGRATION NEW ZEALAND OPERATIONAL MANUAL: LIST OF QUALIFICATIONS EXEMPT FROM ASSESSMENT (APPENDIX 3) AND QUALIFICATIONS RECOGNISED AS AN EXCEPTION (APPENDIX 8)

Introduction This circular outlines changes to immigration instructions. A copy of the amended instructions is attached.

All immigration officers dealing with immigration applications should read the amendments and operate in accordance with the amended instructions on and after 27 January 2014.

Note The amendments described in this circular will be published in the Immigration New Zealand Operational Manual in due course.

Changes to immigration instructions effective on and after 27 January 2014

List of Qualifications Exempt from Assessment (Appendix 3) The following country lists in Appendix 3 have been updated: Australia (Academic Qualifications) Germany (Academic Qualifications) Germany (Craft and Trade Qualifications) Germany (Technical Vocational Qualifications) Ireland (Academic Qualifications) Malaysia (Academic Qualifications) Philippines (Academic Qualifications) South Africa (Academic Qualifications) South Africa (Technical and Vocational Qualifications) South Africa (Trade Qualifications) South Korea (Academic Qualifications) Sri Lanka (Academic Qualifications) United Kingdom (Academic Qualifications) United Kingdom (Technical and Vocational Qualifications), and United Kingdom (Trade and Craft Qualifications).

A minor correction to the Bachelor of Science abbreviation column of the Singapore (Academic Qualifications) list has also been made. Qualifications Recognised as an Exception (Appendix 8) The country lists for Germany, South Africa and the United Kingdom have also been updated.
