General information:

All construction parts in a survey:


The very sturdy formwork carriage consists of a movable basic rack with two cantilever girders, to which the working platform is attached, including a continuous side protection. When working at bridges in big heights safety has first priority. Thats why we drop the use of wood for the side protection elements. The continuous plancking made of riffle sheet with lateral edge setting without gaps will guarantee a safe protection against falling of small parts. This is very important at bridges crossing busy traffic routes. The side protection is build of plug-in type aluminium frames, which are as strong to be also usable as a ladder. To adjust the formwork steel walings, all spindles can be reached easily from one point. The adjusting is done easily with a free wheeling wrench with a long lever arm.

The steel construction of the carriage consists of only 3 mounting groups:

1. basic rack carriage with ballast W = 2400 kg (without ballast)

2. cantilever girders with diagonal bracing and sliding undercarriage to suspend the working platform W = 3950 kg

3. working platform complete with formwork walings and side protection frames W = 2300 kg

The universal construction allows an arrangement of the working platform turned by 180 at narrow space.

Mounting: quick and safe


The mounting of the carriage is very quick and easy to realize with less staff because of premounted elements delivered to site. This helps to prevent accidents during mounting and using. We will send a foreman on request for first instructions, charging only a flat rate.

Adjusting of the bottom- and lateral side formwork


The big advantage in handling our carriage is the separated horizontal and vertical adjustment of the formwork walings.

Universal and quick possibilities of adjustment: All spindles to adjust the formwork walings can be reached easily from one side, standing on the platform. The adjustment at all spindles can be done quickly with the help of the delivered free wheeling wrench SW 46. During construction we took careof the fact that all horizontal and vertical directions of the steel walings can be adjusted separatly and independent from each other. The steel walings for the side formwork can be inclined with 2 adjustment spindles independent to the vertical beam of the platform, without adjusting the whole platform. The special effect: The steel waling adjusted to a special angle can be adjusted subsequently in height without changing the angle. The result is a enormous quick adjusting and time saving. Additionally an adjustable brace is fixed at the lower side of the girder to adjust the complete suspended construction in horizontal direction. With the help of the inclinded brace the vertical girder will be placed into the vertical position with the formwork construction. After that the fine adjustment of the formwork as decribed above can be done.

Solutions for the encasing of internal bridge edge beams:
When producing internal edge beams several types of methods have to be concerned. We are offering a perfect solution for each method. A: Both bridge superstructures have been completed in carcase works. The carriage can be placed on both bridges. Production of the bridge edges either one sided or both parallel B: The first bridge superstructure is finished and already under traffic. Therefore the carriage can be placed only on the second bridge superstructure in carcase works. Production of the edges beams only possible one sided. The same configuration occurs also at renovations of bridges. In this case it is very important that there is no contact to the other bridge under traffic with vibrations or shocks. For both demands ROBUSTA-GAUKEL offers optimized solutions of formwork, which will replace solutions on site and shuttering works with lots of time effort. Optimized solutions of shuttering for economical work: 1) Both edge beams will be concreted at the same time. 2) One edge beam will be concreted without contact to the other already finished beam. Maximum safety: In both cases the working platforms and the formwork are suspended with different tie rods. Thus an unintentional loosening and the violent downfall of the platform is reliably prevented.

A: Carriage construction mounted on both bridges


Movable unit L = 5.0 m. The main girder which is placed onto the secondary beams can be shifted lateral and adjusted exactly over the gap between the bridges. The working platform at the lower bridge side will be suspended at two oversized tie rods and is therefore variable in height. These units can be moved without problem with the self drive lifting carriage. The edge beam formwork is held by additional separate tie rods. The 4 corner props of the platform have rollers, which have a loose contact to the lower bridge side. Because these corner props are adjustable separately in height the platform can be adjusted to height differences in the direction of the roadway. (or of the superstructure ). In that way a lateral tilting of the platform as a result of one sided loads is prevented. These 5 m long units can be placed one after the other in random numbers.

For the casing and striking of the internal edge beams we provide a mechanism using steel wedge insertions. The side formwork made of wood must have according inclined wooden layers on the back side. To adjust the correct lateral distance for the gaps between the edge beams the wedges at the spindles can be lifted or lowered exactly in height. For striking the wedge layers will be lifted, the side formwork will come free and can be removed upwards.

B: Carriage construction mounted on one bridge only:

The basic racks with cantilever girders and ballast placed on one superstructure are identical with the construction for the external edge beams. A main girder willl be placed exactly over the gap between the bridge onto the cantilever beams . The suspension of the working platform is done with an according number of tie rods, the same way as with the carriage at both sides of the bridge (see drawing page 10).

Formwork solution: one bridge edge beam, one sided
For the lateral fixing and holding of a one sided formwork with bottom a clamping rail will be clamped with anchors to the lower side of the bridge. Because of the continuous longitudinal gap of the clamping rail it can be fixed independent to the distances of the concreted anchors. This clamping rail is used as an abutment to take up the pressure of concrete with the help of a swingable anchor tie rod and as a supporting console to clamp the formwork close to the lower side of the bridge.

Encased for concreting: Clamping rail clamped, thus the formwork will be thightened. If needed the formwork can be pressed against the lower side of the bridge with the help of the pressing spindle.

REWORKING CARRIAGE

General information:

Easy to set up from a few pre-assembled units. Wrap-around side protection including all connection materials included with delivery. No emergency solutions of wood are required! Safe and fast work for renovation, forming and concrete works on bridge molding formwork. Modular set-up system adjusts to different bridge shapes. Effective protection against small parts falling off due to closed floor covering of the work platform made of corrugated sheet metal. The sides are also raised all around.

Because of its compact design and dimensions, the ROBUSTA reworking carriage is fast and uncomplicated to set up, move and change over. It also offers all the safety advantages of a large forming carriage. It can be easily and economically adapted to your own specific usage conditions. The reworking carriage consists of a sturdy, base frame made of steel. It is movable with 4 wheels and very resistant to bending. The boom girders with attached work platform and side protection are mainly made of light-weight aluminium sections. When working on bridges at great heights, safety is the top priority. Because of this, we consistently avoid the use of wood in construction parts intended to provide side protection. The closed base covering made of corrugated sheet metal with a raised side piece guarantees reliable protection against small pieces rolling off and falling down. This is especially important for bridges over travelled traffic routes. The side protection on all four sides is formed from plug-in aluminium frames that are so sturdy that they can be used as a ladder for climbing up and down.
