LACIP Documentary shoot in the Swabi District


The LACIP documentary is in the development stage of filming and will be covering all of the 5 Project Districts, Chitral, Buner, Charsadda, D.I. Khan and Swabi. In the month of October, a LACIP PMU member, Zeeshan Azam accompanied Mr. Nisar Khan of the Interactive Resource Center (IRC) to District Swabi for gathering footage for the documentary. The Regional Project Manager of NRSP in Swabi, Mr. Istikhar Ahmed, gave an in depth interview regarding the importance of social mobilization and how the LACIP is providing a new platform through the integrated approach of Multi Sectoral Planning. Mr. Istikhar Ahmed also assisted the team on the field, where he had arranged a large gathering of a community organization called Parvaaz for the documentary. Mr Nisar Khan proceeded to shoot footage of the meeting of the community organization and held a question and answer session with the members of the CO, while keeping a special focus on the youth at the gathering. The documentary will provide a more comprehensive understanding of the Project in terms of the role it is playing in eradicating poverty in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Chitral POs give presentation on Multi Sectoral Plan


PPAF held a presentation session with the Partner Organization MIED on Multi Sectoral Planning. The presentation was given by a local community organization member from Chitral. He explained how MSPs were being developed in Chitral in collaboration with AKRSP. The CO member presented the model on which the MSPs were being followed upon and stressed on the aspect of mutual learning from the Partner Organizations and PPAF through this process.

LACIP PMU Members in the field at Buner


LACIP PMU members, Sana Zeeshan Shirazi and Taimur Jehangir conducted a field visit to Buner to monitor the progress and implementation of the Partner Organization Rural Development Program (RDP). The purpose of the visit was to facilitate and carry out monitoring of the PO in terms of the documentation, reporting of Quarterly Progress Reports and Short Monthly Progress Reports. The formats and reporting details were clarified to the focal persons of RDP and their progress was monitored against their financing agreement. A total of 6 COs were visited in the field to verify the component of Institutional development. Sana Zeeshan Shirazi accompanied the field staff to 2 women COs, while Taimur Jehangir verified 4 male COs through ID checklists

1 Million EUR have been allocated tor Disaster Preparedness and Mitigation (DPM) activities . The MIS system and database is being developed and will be fully operational soon. The Quarterly Progress Report for the period of (July-September) has been shared with KfW. A Quarterly Field Visit schedule has been developed by the PMU LACIP. Preparation of the CPI Manual on the Modern Surface Irrigation System Design and Channel improvement is under process.

Monthly Progress Update

36 CPI Schemes initiated this month, cumulative CPI schemes initiated are 117. 8 CPI Projects have been completed this month, cumulative CPI Projects completed are 21. 47 new Community Organizations have been formed this month, cumulative new formed COs are 398. 14 Community Organizations have been revitalized in October, total number is 173. 396 Livelihood Investment Plans have been completed this month, total number of LIPs completed is 1,130.
