Virgin:
The word virgin comes via Old French virgine from the root form of Latin virgo, genitive virginis, meaning literally maiden or virgina sexually intact young woman In medical science a woman who has not participated in sexual intercourse is called a virgin.

What is Virginity?
Virginity is the state of a person who has never engaged in sexual intercourse. There are cultural and religious traditions which place special value and significance on this state, especially in the case of unmarried females, associated with notions of personal purity, honor and worth.

If you want to know the basic knowledge of virginity, you must have knowledge about hymen.

What is hymen?
The hymen is a thin layer of mucous membrane situated at the orifice of vagina. It has got a small opening through which menstrual fluid passes.

Signs of virginity can be distinguish by two ways:

Genital Signs of virginity:


1) Labia Majora 1. 2. 3. 4. Pink in color Firm Rounded In close apposition, so as close the vaginal orifice **Even on abduction of legs, the vaginal orifice remains completely closed

2) Labia Minora 1. Thin cutaneous fold 2. Pink in color 3. Soft and small

So Principal Signs of Virginity:


1) An intact hymen 2) A normal condition of the fourchette and posterior commissure 3) A narrow vagina with rugose walls.
