Youth ministry at Cornerstone Community Bible Church!

Together in Christ
November was a difficult month for all of us, but what I want to say right away is how thankful I am for everything God has done, and continues to do, through everything that has come to pass in the last month. Thank you also to all the parents and all the students for staying strong, for coming together and especially in being there for each other, and for Kylers family. I specifically want to express condolences to the Massner and Schnedler families for the loss you have experienced and know that we are all continually praying for the everything God has planned for this entire situation. He is our Rock, and He always works for the good! We are nearing the end of our study in the book of Romans, and I just wanted to say for the record, that it has been a good series! The lessons have been pretty theologically heavy, and we have gotten into some pretty serious discussions about sin, faith and grace. I also want to take this opportunity to express one of the core beliefs I hold as a youth leader. I do not believe there are topics anywhere in the Bible that students cannot grasp or shouldnt learn about. While we discuss some topics more frequently than others, I want to encourage everyone (parents and youth alike) that if there is a particular topic or question you think would be good to talk about, please let me know. December is going to be a busy month for us! As we get ready for a new year, and new events, we will be enjoying another movie night, a Christmas potluck, a game night and lots of fun and interesting lessons! Also, we have our High School Angel Tree shopping day coming up right away on the 7th! I also want to point out to everyone that to kick off our Diving into Discipleship series, we will be hosting our first overnight Lock-in at the church on January 18th! I hope and pray for everyone to have a fantastic, blessed and joyful Christmas and New Years! -Ryan

Angel tree is a an organization that partners with families with one or more incarcerated parents. They provide us with the information for families in need and we give each child a few gifts for Christmas. It is an opportunity for the youth to work together for the good of others and a great chance for them to learn about serving through teamwork. The cost of the gifts is covered and any youth who would like to participate is welcome to do so. We have shopping days on the calendar and we will deliver the gifts on December 15th if youth want to go.

Fuel for Life will rollout in January! This brief sample was just a preview! Beginning next month we will have a full monthly reading plan which will also parallel our study at youth group so the whole family can follow along!

Extra! Extra!
Snowflakes
A devotional study of Gods Word
We do not always appreciate snowflakes, especially the first of the season. On their own, they are simply a combination of water vapor, ice crystals and dust. Upon closer inspection we find that each crystal is a masterpiece of design. Each flake formed into an intricate, beautiful arrangement of frozen water. When that one snowflake joins millions more, we get snow. That wonderful, yet sometimes unwanted, addition to any Christmas morning! This wonderfully designed element of nature often goes unnoticed as we go through the winter months, but think about God and his design of nature. When he was forming the earth and the seasons and even the way weather works he designed snowflakes to not only be unique, but to be elegant and perfectly beautiful. This is exactly how God made you. You are a special and unique piece of work. There is no one else just like you. You are more than dust and water. In each person, God invests His own workmanship. A unique and beautiful creation, a work of art, if you will, is the result. In Ephesians 2:10, Paul says, For we are Gods handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. You were not only designed perfectly, by God, but you were designed and crafted through your relationship with Jesus for a purpose! God prepared this life for you so that you will be a part of his eternal plan! Think about that the next time you catch a snowflake in your hand!
