The Eggs are back for another funky year. Back with
a bang on this rip-roaring Saturday, your favourite
funk and boogaloo group will take the stage at their

audiences a more intimate performance.
Whats the mantra? Love, peace and Zen. Psychedelic
pop act Zen Mantra return with a new, full band. There
will be lots of star gazing around the room, spinning
lights, waving your hands in the air like you are
running through a eld. Good times ensue.
The Tahuna team are hitting the road and spreading
the infectious sounds all over the country. Theyve
been busy busy, with their third album Shadow Light
out last year. They tried a new songwriting technique
for the latest attempt and are sharing their new,
fresh sound.
I Am Giant have had massive year upon massive year

fun and talented artists. Ok, keep in mind there is a
strict no drugs or alcohol policy. But enjoy getting
high off the energy and atmosphere.
The boys look forward to delivering two sets, playing

The Projects celebrated electro-organic sessions
have crystallised into a compelling new album with
a wide emotional spectrum, drawing on trip-hop,
quirky grooves, and chanson. The lush sound palette,
organically electronic, carries tender vocals, broody
harmony and rhythmic word.
While Lorde isnt making an appearance, Laneway is
still going one hell of a day party, with some of the
nest international indie acts taking the stage. Acts
include Haim, Ghost Wave, UMO, Watercolours, Danny
Brown and Doprah.
On her 2012 trip, Shenandoah played to almost every
audience there is to play to, from Camp A Low Hum to
the Good Morning show, and sold-out emotional nal
shows in Wellington and Auckland. In recent months,
Shenandoah has to play and sold-out solo shows
Laura Marling and Mirah.
As the second Laneway sideshow to hit New Zealand,
the ears of Wellington are in for an incredible
injection of hip-hop. As the youngest of the Old Future
collective, Earl Sweatshirt is by far the most notorious
and talented of the bunch. His 2010 debut mixtape
Earl left fans and critics hanging on for more.

Bruce Springsteen and Tom Morello
on the same album and a duet,
there is nothing, absolutely nothing
you could want from life now.
Ghost of Tom Joad is vivid, deeply
upsetting and explosive. Morello and
Springsteen alternate vocal duties
before coming together in away that
will make you bow to the rock Gods.
There are guitar solos and spoken
word moments that transcend
songwriting and become poetry. This
track is more than you could hope
for coming out of two very talented
musicians.
Springsteens performance, its
exactly as youd expect, top class.
High Hopes doesnt have songs so
much as it has stories and each track
is moving and feels as near tangible
and not in the least bit contrived. Its
hard to over state the magnitude of
this album. Down in the Hole is a
bone-chilling introduction and we
then have Springsteens vocals come
and immerse you into the song. And
thats one of the most important
parts of this record, immersion.
From the start of the opener High
Hopes with its scratchy guitar
and Springsteen demanding your
attention give me hell/ give me
strength/ give soul, it shows the
album isnt about to let up. And
it doesnt, Springsteen keeps the
atmosphere and emotion right
through the closing of Dream Baby
Dream.
The tracks in between, namely The
Wall and Hunter of Invisible Game,
offer a different musical texture
to the album. The tracks break the
album up and also provide a window
into the different tones and feelings
of the songs. With the rst being a
Springsteen only venture and the
second featuring Morello it provides
and contrast between the work
Springsteen does on his own and the
work he does with others.
Dream Baby Dream starts as a
solemn offering with a touch of
hope and desperation. It feels like
the ending of a story but at the same
time it signies a new beginning. The
track is slow to build, like pressure
on a valve, but it comes round into a
plateau that nishes the album off
nicely with backing vocals.
Everything about this record pulls it
together into a cohesive whole and
it shows that while the industry will
continue to turn out music about
money and sex, musicianship and
songwriting trumps factory made
every time.

Five movies and four actors later, and
the late Tom Clancys all-American
hero is still proving popular action
ick fodder. Twelve years after Ben
Afecks attempt in The Sum of All
Fears, the franchise gets a reboot with
Star Treks Chris Pine in the lead role
and a screenplay that deviates from
the initial storyline. Using Clancys
characters as a basis only, lmmakers
clearly had room to move in all the
right directions.
Critically wounded from his time in
Afghanistan, Second Lieutenant Jack
Ryan (Pine) is out of action, until CIA
agent Thomas Harper (Kevin Costner)
sees potential and puts him through
the agency. Ten years later, hes
working a desk job as an analyst only
to be thrown in the deep end as a eld
agent when he uncovers a Russian
plot to crash the US economy with a
terrorist attack.
It sounds all very clichd (Russian
terrorists? The 1990s called, they
want their antagonists back) and
it is but theres a real attempt (in
the rst half at least) to maintain a
sense of realism that doesnt have
you rolling your eyes every ve
minutes. Unlike such reboots before
it (namely Bourne), Shadow Recruit
isnt just one chase sequence after
another. Its like a ticking time
bomb, as things slowly unravel to
the explosive climax. Pine does
the fresh- faced analyst to ass-
kicking agent perfectly, while Sir
Kenneth Branaghs Shakespearian
background ads an element of
theatrical drama needed for a
typical super villain. Although
things get a bit ridiculous towards
the end, its an enjoyable watch that
will keep you entertained from start
to nish.

The Oscar-nominated ick sports an all-star cast and
award-winning director to boot. Cons, sweet 70s curls
and disco, its sure to be one hell of a fun ride. Bradley
Cooper stars as an FBI agent who goes undercover
with a couple of con artists (Amy Adams and Christian
Bale). Jeremy Renner co-stars as a shady politician.
West examines the case of the West Memphis Three
teenagers wrongly convicted of murdering three
children and jailed for 18 years in 1993. The doco
focuses on Terry Hobbs, stepfather of Stevie Branch,
one of the victims, as a potential suspect due to
physical evidence linking him to the crime.
This powerful documentary explores the world of
mutual relationships where glamorous girls use their
charm and beauty to rinse wealthy men for money
and gifts. We follow three women who live this life
in the UK Jeanette Worthington, Danica Thrall, and
Hollie Capper.
Shes a high-school girl from the wrong side of
town. Hes the wealthy heart-throb who asks her to
the prom. But as fast as their romance builds, its
threatened by the painful reality of peer pressure. A
bittersweet story with an upbeat ending and a great
1980s rock score. John Hughes at his best.
Before Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal Lecter (Mads
Mikkelsen, Casino Royale) was a brilliant psychiatrist
in the employ of the FBI. His task: to help a gifted
criminal proler, Will Graham (Hugh Dancy, The Big C),
who is haunted by his ability to see into the minds of
serial killers. A gripping series.

SHIT WORTH EATING
With an ethos and values built solidly in the working class the Gas
Works feels alive with everyones stories and its own history. An
inspired menu has crafted harmony between the classic and the
new, offering hearty breakfasts alongside comfort foods for the
cold Wellington winters and weekly all you can eats. Its a family
environment thats remained true to its roots with an atmosphere
to match. Its furnished in style and carries itself with a air of
Wellingtons local pride which makes Gas Works the place for an ale
and sharing a tale.

The vibrant avours and colours of Asian food come
together with a twist - an island breeze. The modern
Chinese food, is accompanied by the lush, relaxed
surroundings of a Pacic Island paradise. And if youre
channeling Jack Sparrow, they are also the home of
NZs premiere rum and cocktail bar.

TOURS & EVENTS
PICKING THE BRAIN- of one
half of UKs genre building, dance
oor annihilating and stupid
noise creating, Mount Kimbie
is an exercise in patience. At
least while the charming French
receptionist at Kai Campos (one
half of the British electronic
duo) hotel works through your
strikingly kiwi accent to gure
out exactly who it is youd like
to talk to. It seemed then, half
hoping Campos is a morning
person, that best place to start
with is how they ended up cutting
their teeth and being scene
forerunners at almost precisely
the same time.
It didnt seem like that, says
Campos. The rst four songs we
nished were our rst EP and the
second four were the second EP.
Digging a little deeper into his
memory Campos says (while
remarking that its been almost
10 years since hes thought about
this) that the biggest initial draw
to electronic music is that it was
the essence of everything.
Its not what I listen to solely
but as a teenager I was attracted
to making the music. There were
mind blowing possibilities and
being able to create everything
yourself appealed to me and
was exciting.
Theyve come along way since
then, with their latest full length
release Cold Spring Faultless
Youth coming out early last year
and festivals across the world,
but Campos says not a lot has
changed for Mount Kimbie.
Whats changed, says Campos
after a pause, is that things
are more considered and were
learning more and were more
aware that decisions you make
now can stick with you.
He says thats the best place for
him and the other half of Mount
Kimbie, Dominic Maker, to be.
Still guring it out and building
on what they know. For us, its
the only way to make music.
Part of the guring it out process
is taking what they learn from
festivals and applying it to how
they make music.
They (festivals) can be a great
and terrible thing. We had no
idea when we started out and
we worked out how to present
something we believe in on a
bigger stage.
While Campos says there wasnt
a conversation where they sat
down and tried to work out how
to get the music to t into every
context, thats what theyve
been working on. And when
everything comes together in a
festival performance, he says the
collective force of 20,000 people
singing your songs back to you is
fairly intoxicating.
Since the beginning of Mount
Kimbie, when Maker and Campos
were bedroom producers, its
seemed as though these mens
minds were connected.
Theres no dened process, says
Campos on how they bring their
ideas together, we usually start
on the keyboard or on the guitar,
which is usually a bass, and
sometimes its a stupid noise that
Ive recorded. And from there,
it correlates and they nd out
the melody and that becomes the
heart of the song, its reason
for existing.
On Cold Spring Faultless Youth
the duo did one of their few
outsider collaborations with
King Krule, the singer songwriter
and musician. While Maker and
Campos arent against the idea
of collaborating, Campos says
theyre fairly hesitant, and that
King Krule came on as part of the
process, not just a voice over.
We didnt want to have ve or
six collaborators on the record.
I think electronic music does
itself a a disservice that way and
it seems half arse. With Archy
(King Krule) we thought it would
work together and it would
correlate.
The song, You Took Your Time,
was built with Krules vocals
in mind.
He was there from the very
beginning and we were writing
with him in mind and we were
writing together. So when we did
his vocals, it wasnt a half nished
rec with vocals over the top.
As for a new album the band are
going to be touring right through
until spring next year, at which
point theyll begin record. But
Campos says they prefer not to
over think it too far in advance
and theyre yet to decide where
theyll be making the record.

Not that many of them were able
to enunciate why they are pro-
Dotcom. Or you loathe him; and
anyone who is anti-Dotcom has
plenty to say! Whether you think
he is as lost in his own version
of truth or you think that he is
a privacy activist trapped in a
golden cage you are still thinking
of him. We are witnessing the
carving out of an enduring
legend, folks.
Holed up in his Coatesville
mansion every bit the caricature
of a dark hero, he has not sat
idle. Amongst other things he
has found the time to write some
simple rhymes, enlist a glittering
line-up of music makers and
proffer up an album.
Enlisting the creative services
of American producers Printz
Board (The Black Eyed Peas),
Sleep Deez (Lupe Fiasco) and
Rellevant (Eminem) shows that
he knows how to surround
himself with people who can get
the job done. American singers
Amari and Ilati, and closer to
home the talents of Tiki Taane,
Laughton Kora, (ACDC drummer
Phils daughter) Lucia Rudd and
Dotcoms stunning Philipino wife
Mona have also been tapped. But
of course the star is Kim himself,
and I cannot deny feeling that he
wouldnt have it any other way.
A visit to his website and you
can listen to four tracks from
the album, all very personally
mined, however the rst rule of
creativity is to write about what
you know. A rule he has followed
to the letter.
Good Times is light dance-pop
music. And if thats what oats
your boat then by all means tune
in. Catchy track Live My Life
insists just that. The video is a
masterpiece, a plea for the weedy
guy; surrounded by ice cube
sucking girls in bikinis, nattily
balanced with car racing cuts, a
superman outt and a fantastic
disco ball scene.
An unmistakable nod to Drum
and Bass with his track Party
Amplier and there is a certain
grace in the feel-good lyrics of
Precious which has a heavy dose
of the Black Eyed Peas harmonics
heard on their smash hit album
Elephunk. I would have loved to
know whether the album was
made using a product the likes of
Auto Tune, but perhaps it is in
not knowing that will lead me to
listen to the album again. Tricky.
The release date (20.01.14)
coincides with the launch of
AT A BASIC level Kim Dotcom
is a celebrity because he is an
enterprising computer geek.
And I am sure that like many
of the geeks who were friends
of mine when I was younger, he
made no secret that he would
go on to seek (and cement) his
notoriety through the use of his
commanding brain. Other kids
want to be ballerinas and remen.
As a child he says he wanted to
be a millionaire. Nothing wrong
with that.
Indeed Mister Dotcom, born
Schmitz has used his brain and
become a very wealthy man; at
the age of 18 he was a millionaire;
money he admits he made from
Baboom, Dotcom was to give
music fans a sneak preview
into his latest innovative and
disruptive Internet service.
According to the media release
Baboom will provide a new way
for artists to be rewarded, as well
as enabling the public to earn the
right to stream and download
content for free. The service will
go live in late 2014, until then we
can only guess at the authenticity
of this claim. 20 January also
marks the second anniversary
of the large scale police raid
which he has publicly called an
anti-terrorist operation. The raid
which brought the already larger
than life Dotcom squarely into the
public eye.
A place he obviously feels
comfortable. So much so that he
had planned to host 25,000 fans
at Aucklands Vector Arena for
all of this launch business, in
addition to celebrating his 40th
birthday (21.01.14). However given
that he has made no secret of
his political aspirations, the risk
that his planned free-admission
launch party might contravene
New Zealand electoral laws
meant that last Thur 16 Jan, a
missive from his PR informed
us it was cancelled. Of course
the Internet party will go ahead
as planned which is perhaps
a further passive message from
Dotcom, that the Internet is the
one place where we are truly free.
His choice of date seems odd
to me. Perhaps he is thumbing
his nose at all of the adversity,
perhaps he feels emboldened by
such an act. And the argument
that his date choice is merely
a coincidence is wafer thin: in
the life of Kim Dotcom I should
imagine everything runs to a
well calculated plan, where every
effort is made to ensure it is
executed awlessly.

THE WALKING DEAD: SEASON 2 - EPISODE 1: ALL THAT REMAINS
PC (ALSO AVAILABLE ON IOS, ANDROID, PS3, 360)
With the rst season of Telltale Games The Walking Dead receiving the accolades
it did back in 2012, a sequel was almost guaranteed. Here was a game that,
according to fans and critics alike, breathed life into the dormant adventure
genre and proved the capability for games to tell complex, emotionally charged
stories.
In order to fully appreciate what SeasonTwo brings to the table, its necessary to
rst revisit the rst season. Taking place in the same world as Robert Kirkmans
comic book series of the same name, The Walking Dead follows an original plot
with unique characters. It makes use of exploration-driven mechanics that will be
familiar to anyone whos played any classic adventure games like Monkey Island
or The Longest Journey, albeit with more emphasis on player-driven interactions
between characters and less focus on puzzles.
Season Two starts more or less where Season One left off, although now, youre
playing as Clementine (instead of protecting her.) Apparently, some people were
concerned about Telltale going easy on her, and the game not having the same
emotional impact as season one as a result. Telltale said before launch that this
wouldnt be the case, and this is backed up within 10 minutes of ring up the
game.
Although some other characters from Season One show up, this is a new game
and a new arc in The Walking Deads story, so All That Remains is largely focused
on establishing the new characters and setting the scene for events to come. As
such, it doesnt bring the same level of intensity as the later episodes of the rst
season.
Having said that, Season Two still manages to create some genuine, fresh tension.
Clementine faces a number of tribulations over the course of the episode, and
without Lee by her side, we get to really see how much shes grown and how
determined shes become as she ghts through these.
Its important to remember that this is the rst episode of a new story arc and, as
such, its main purpose is to introduce the new characters and set the scene for
whats to come. And it does a fantastic job with that - especially with one hell of a
cliffhanger at the end...

NEW ZEALAND MINT TO RELEASE MAGIC NEW COINS
Wizards of the Coast have announced an upcoming limited edition range of coins
based on the Magic: The Gathering collectable card game. Produced by New
Zealand Mint, the coins - made from one ounce of .999 silver - will be legal tender
in the Pacic island nation of Niue.
New Zealand Mint is excited to be engaged in this release, Brent Hindman, Head
of Sales and Marketing at New Zealand Mint explained.
The rst coin is scheduled to release on March 1st, 2014. Additional coins are
planned, but details about other releases - including what they might be, and
when they can be expected - were not included in the announcement.

SIMCITY OFFLINE MODE ANNOUNCED
Developers Maxis have announced that, as of an upcoming patch, SimCity will be
playable without an internet connection.
The news follows the games mixed reception since it released in March last year,
with much of the negative press around the game centered on the fact that the
city building simulation - even in singleplayer - required an internet connection
to play.
The new mode - which will come as part of Update 10 - is currently undergoing
testing, and no specic timeframe has been advised as to when it might become
available in the game.
CASTLEVANIA: LORD OF SHADOWS - MIRROR OF FATE HD
XBOX 360 (ALSO AVAILABLE ON PS3, 3DS)
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate released as a 3DS exclusive
last year, seeking to open up the linear, action-focused direction of its home
console predecessor, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and draw inspiration from
exploration-heavy Castlevania titles directed by Koji Igarashi (Symphony of the
Night, most famously, but also most of the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS
entries.)
Most critics and fans agreed that it was a limited success in this regard - more
open than LoS, but far from the Igarashi standard - and marred by other aws. In
light of this response, Konamis decided to release an HD remaster of the game
for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, giving developer Mercury Steam a second chance
to get the game right.
The rst thing youll notice when you re up the game is that cutscenes are now
skippable. This is obviously a nice touch if you played the original and are coming
back for more, but even if youre brand new to the game, its good to have the
option. The cutscenes themselves were one of the standard features of the 3DS
game, combining a beautiful, gothic art direction and cel-shaded graphics to
great effect, but they havent made the transition to the big screen quite as well.
It looks good, but its still obvious that the game originated on a low-resolution
system, which is a shame.
The other big changes are gameplay related, with the removal of almost all of
the QTEs perhaps the most welcome one. Where Mirror of Fate had you inputting
arbitrary button sequences to do everything from nishing off a boss ght to
opening a treasure chest, Mirror of Fate HD only throws them at you when they
serve some sort of actual purpose, like mashing X to break out of an enemys grab,
which does varying damage depending on how quickly you can escape.
Mirror of Fate HD is denitely the best version of Mercury Steams Lords of
Shadow spin-off. If youre on the fence, you may want to give the demo a try rst
- this is the best version of the game, without a doubt, but its the best version
of a game that is still, at its core, good - without ever crossing the threshold into
great.

SCOTTISH INDIE ROCK
band Frightened Rabbit was
initially a solo project for vocalist
and guitarist Scott Hutchison,
who worked with his brother
Grant on the bands rst studio
album, Sing the Greys. Three
more albums later and a few
line-up additions, the band
are no strangers to touring but
have never quite made it to New
Zealand. Laneway Festival 2014
is about to change all that, giving
the boys the perfect excuse see
what the talks all about. Ren Kirk
caught up with Grant Hutchison
ahead of their debut performance
at Laneway Festival at Silo Park.
Ren Kirk: I guess youve got a
busy day of interviews?
Grant Hutchison: No, just an
hours worth. Its interrupting my
TV watching, but ya know, its ok.
RK: Well we better get on with
it so you can get back to your TV
watching then I guess. So, tell
me about how you rst got in to
music I mean the band started
as you and your brother, so Im
kinda leaning towards quite a
musical family.
GH: Na, not really. I mean sort
of, I guess, because our parents
used to go to a folk club and they
helped run it in Scotland. But
that was when everyone was in
a folk band. Dad played a little
guitar but mostly they were
always very encouraging I think.
All three of us played some sort of
instrument.
RK: So did you and Scott play
together at school?
GH: We were both in various
bands at school but I didnt start
playing with Scott until eight or
nine years ago. And it seemed to
work - that band thing that you
nd with brothers so I havent
played with many other people;
he was looking for a drummer
and I was the only one he knew.
RK: So the musical brothers bit,
has that always been smooth
saling? Never any sibling rivalry
or trying to out-do each other?
GH: We havent always been
at peace with each other, but
denitely in terms of music
theres not much competition.
Scott and I never played music
together because he always used
to say it wasnt very cool to be
a band with your brother at
school... we had our own things
going on.
RK: So would it be fair to say he
didnt have my inuence on you
musicially growing up then?
GH: All my musical inuence
came from my older brother. I
remember when he came home
with the rst Rage [Against
The Machine] album and I
was denitely too young to be
listening to it. He came home,
turned it up loud and mum came
running in screaming that I was
too young to be listening to it.
I was too... kept going around
singing, Fuck you I wont do
what you tell me.
RK: How do you think the band
and music has progressed over
the years?
RK: Ooh, [long pause] or if it
hasnt progressed we can talk
about that?
GH: No, it certainly has
progressed.
RK: Phew, that was going to be a
bit awkward.
GH: I think our sound, the
music, it really came to fruition
on the last record cause previous
to that Scott had written all the
songs and bought them to us fully
formed. So there was very little
room to move. But with the last
record that changed and all ve of
us went to a couple of cottages to
write and all of us were involved
from the outset. It made a huge
difference to the sound and feel of
the record.
RK: Will be interesting to see
how it feels for you with the
next album, second time round
and all that. But moving right
along, because I know theres TV
watching that needs to be done...
what do you think about heading
over to NZ for Laneway, because
you havent played here before
have you?
GH: Never been and I cant
wait. Weve been to Australia a
few times and whenever we do
but dont get to come to NZ Ive
always felt a bit hard done by. Ive
heard so many good things about
it and the festival there.
RK: And when this tour nishes,
will it be back to the studio?
GH: Yeah, we are going to take
a break from touring and were
gonna write the next record. Its
time to do the next one, so thats
what well be doing and hopefully
get it out in 2015.

YA, MON, CHIRPS
reggae-pop star Shaggy (aka Mr
Boombastic aka Orville Richard
Burrell), over the phone from
his Long Island studio, The
Backyard. Maxi [Priest], he was
the one who schooled me up on
how to perform internationally.
How, also, to do interviews and to
collaborate with all these artists.
Weve just been discussing
Priests performance with Shaggy
on Fox5 in NYC in promotion to
the local Jerk Chicken Festival.
The song, Fight This Feeling is
one of many produced by Shaggy
and reggae rhythm section Sly
Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare
on a new album Out of Many,
One Music.
Its Shaggys 12th album and has
already spawned the number-
one hit You Girl, featuring
vocals from Ne-Yo. Big hits are
no stranger to this four-time
Grammy winner, who rose to
fame in the mid-1990s with
grunty remakes of the Folkes
Brothers ska hit Oh Carolina
and country twee-madam
Juice Newtons Angel (of the
Morning). And, of course, who
can forget the very cheeky It
Wasnt Me and the global stonker
Boombastic.
All of these hits feature
collaborations. Theres no
doubt hes the ultimate magpie
producer, but he also loves to
reshape and remodel, reuse and
review. His little black book is
jam-packed with phone numbers
of inuential musicians.
This album, you know, came
out of our touring down there
in Australia and New Zealand.
Weve known each other a long,
long time, he says of mates
Sly and Robbie, and we were
saying we should make an album
together, so we went into the
studio, here at Long Island, and
jerked out a couple of songs. Then
we left it for, oh about a year
re-worked a few and then I added
lyrics and got in some singers. I
called up Ne-Yo, Maxi and others
to add the layers.
Whilst Shaggys the master of
collaboration, hes also a nutrient
gure in music, feeding new
talent and has always been one
of the early catalysts for young,
upcoming artists.
THIS YEAR, ALONG WITH DAMIEN MARLEY,
REGGAE STAR SHAGGY IS HEADING ROTORUAS
RAGGAMUFFIN FESTIVAL AND HE CAN T WAIT.
ENCORE
Like Rikrok, who I had sing on
It Wasnt Me. But, you know, I
used to have big hopes and push
them and everything. Now I... you
know that saying, You can lead
a donkey to water, but you cant
make him drink? Its like that.
You have to get up every morning
and really want it. They have to
want it, so I look for that. Its that
ambition that I want
to encourage.
Right now, the one wanting it is
Tessanne, a Jamaican-born fusion
artist who competed in the fth
season of US show The Voice. Ive
known her for a long time and
shes very talented, with a great
voice. Ive made a few tracks here
at the studio.
A part-time Big Apple resident
(he also lives with his family in
Jamaica), Shaggy has a house on
Long Island, New York, where
he rolls in musicians as required.
Sometimes I have to leave,
theres not enough room for me
and the performers, which,
right now, includes longtime
collaborator and keyboardist
Lanky Martin and writer-
producer Sting (real name
Shaun Pizzonia).
He is anti-industry. Hes a
unique individual. But, its that
talent that gets me the hits,
the ideas and keeps me going.
We often ght, about artistic
differences. But in the end
that ambition drives us to a
great result.
Shaggy tours relentlessly, but
he always has a soft spot for his
part of the world. Im really
looking Raggamufn. Ive been
there before. I love the Kiwi
take on Reggae, he comments,
responding to my questions
about his knowledge of Marleys
inuence and bands such as
Aotearoa, Herbs, Katchare.
I saw plenty the last time I was
there, but can you spell those
band names again? I need to
Google them and bone up! I better
know my stuff before I get there!
I need to know how to do that
whatcha call it?
