MY HOLIDAYS IN SARAWAK Last December 2010, my family had decided to visit Sarawak as our holiday destination.

Sarawak "The Land of the Hornbills" is one of the famous places to be visited because its uniqueness and panoramic scenery. Therefore we wanted to experience the beauty by ourselves. There were so many wonderful stories shared by relatives and friends, who had been there before. I also surfed to the internet to seek for information about interesting places in Sarawak. It was not easy as what we expected because we needed to prepare a few things such as booking the airline ticket and the accommodation. But all those things could be easier if done through online. I chose low-cost carrier Air Asia and depart at the Low Cost Carrier Terminal, or LCCT. A day before we departed, we went to my sisters house in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. On the next day, we went there earlier with my sister. The flight would depart at 12.45 p.m. As we arrived, we proceeded to the check-in counters to submit the required documents. After we had completed the registration, we waited at the terminal set. We were now ready to board a plane to fly to Sarawak. Sarawak, here we come! I monologue to myself happily. I could see a big happy smile on my childrens faces. This was their first experience boarding an airplane. The journey on the sky took about an hour and forty five minutes to arrive at the Kuching International Airport. Once landed, we were heading to the check-in counter and took our luggage for the next trip. We took a cab to send us to the Obsolete Swallow Hotel in Kuching as our accommodation trip. After having breakfast on the next day, we took a taxi to the Kuchings Capital to enjoy panoramic scene. We took a wander along the Waterfront, took videos and pictures of the background of the Sarawak State Assembly which is across the Sarawak River. We also took a boat fare to sail across the river heading to visit a layer cake factory in Kampung Boyan. After spending a few hours there, we returned to the hotel in the evening. At night we enjoy delicious chicken rice at the restaurant Penyet King which is one of the well-known dishes there. On the third day, we went to several interesting places such as Sarawak Museum, Kuching Museum, Semenggoh Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, the Cultural Village, Jong's Crocodile Farm, pottery making factory at Batu 4 Road, Kuching and also shopping at Main Bazaar as a souvenir. We only went back to the hotel during sunset.

On the final day, we prepared to return to the Peninsular Malaysia. After finishing the hotel matters, we headed to Kuching airport as our flight would depart at 1.30 pm. Indeed we brought along the very sweet memories in The Land of The Hornbills together with our return to the hometown.
