An Update From Andrea...

Aloha from Kailua-Kona Hawaii! Can you believe that I get to call this place home for the next three months!?!! It is truly an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to serve the Lord here in this beautiful place and I wouldnt be here without you! So THANK YOU to everyone that has been so generous in helping to get me here!! I am already having so much fun and enjoying immensely the beauty of Gods creation on this stunning island. There is so much to fill you in on so consider this my very first update. Below I will share with you what its like to live here on the University of Nations Campus, a small portion of what Ive learned in the classroom, where God is taking me from here, and how you can partner with me.

First, living here on the University of Nations campus has been amazing! For those of you who dont know what that is, it is Youth With A Missions (YWAMs) main campus with people from all over the world living here. A few of my favorite places on campus include the library, a small trendy coffee shop, and of course the prayer room (which happens to be the only place on campus with air conditioning ). There is never a dull (or quiet) moment here on campus as several Discipleship Training Schools as well as many other secondary schools are running here at the same time. When you step out of your dorm room door it is not uncommon to hear several different languages being spoken or to see someone praying over someone else. The love of Jesus is so present on every part of campus and I adore the community that comes with living here.

Secondly, I dont even know where to being with what I have learned since arriving here two and a half weeks ago. There are so many good things that have been taught during our class time that I can only hope to give you a small glimpse into the amazing teaching that we are sitting under. One of the main things weve been learning since arriving here is how much God loves us. One of our speakers conveyed the importance of living from Gods love instead of getting caught up in living for Gods love. Too often we try to work for Gods love out of the weakness of our flesh and we need to understand that Gods love is not conditional. He loves us fully and completely without us ever having to do a thing for Him. In fact before we even knew Him He showed His love for us by dying on the cross (Romans 5:8). All I can say is that it is an incredible feeling waking up each morning knowing that God loves me in fullness before my feet ever hit the ground! It is my prayer for you that as you read this God will give you an even greater revelation of His love for you. May your heart shift from the ways of living for His love into the ways of living from His love!
