The student produces a plan that contains a number of steps that include resources and time. The student makes some attempt to evaluate the plan. The student produces a plan that contains an adequate number of detailed, logical steps. The student examines the feasibility of the plan, by considering if someone else would be able to create the same product given the students plan and design.

The plan includes a list of hardware or materials that will be used to create the product. The plan includes a list of the software and/or tools that will be used to create the product. The plan includes an indication of how the time used to create the product will be used. The plan identifies the knowledge and skills required to create the product and how these will be acquired. The student evaluates the plan by comparing the time required to the available time, and by considering the skills of the student. The student justifies a modification to the design.

Raghad Al-Ansari Technology, Plan 23/11/13

Name of project: Educational Game Hardware: (Computer properties, Camera, Scanner, Printer, web host) Camera: To take a photo of my drawing Scanner: To scan my drawing Pencil: To draw my drawing Paper: To draw my drawing on it Laptop (MAC OS X 10.6.8): To complete the whole project. This is the most important tool needed.

Software: (Name and version number) Adobe Flash (CS5): This is the program I am going to create my game with. Internet (safari/google chrome): Without the internet, I cannot download the program. iTunes (10): iTunes is needed to download the sounds and then upload them into Adobe Flash.

What skills/knowledge will you need to complete your project, what will you do to develop those skills/knowledge? The skills and knowledge I will need to complete my project are computer skills, designing skills and programming skills. I will develop my computer skills by playing more around with it to learn about all the options available. I will develop my designing skills by I will improve my programming skills by going on youtube tutorials to watch examples of games that were created. I will also play around with the program to know more about it.

Steps to complete project.

All time in minutes

1)Open up the laptop by clicking on the power button. Plug it into the charger because the laptop may shut down while using it. The tools that are used to do this step are a laptop and a charger. This should take around 3 minutes. This step is important because without a laptop, one wont be able to create the game and if the laptop wasnt charged, all the persons hard work would go if the laptop shut down.

Raghad Al-Ansari Technology, Plan 23/11/13

2) If the type of laptop is a MacBook (in which case it is), go on safari or google chrome by clicking on one of the applications. If the homepage isnt google already, then type in google.com. Depending on which version will be used (either Adobe Flash CS5 or Adobe Flash CS6), go on www.adobe.com/products/flash.html. On the top left, there will be 6 choices in black. Click on the fourth choice, which is download. Pick whichever type of program that is needed to be downloaded. This step is necessary because without the program itself, creating the game wouldnt be possible. This step may take 2 hours because downloading the program takes a long time. 3) While the program is downloading, be productive. For example, if there is a character used in the game, draw it out on a paper with a pencil, color it with coloring pencils. Afterwards, scan it by a scanner or take a picture of it either by a camera or by an iPhone (because the quality of the photo is high). This step is needed because without a main character, the game would be boring. The time needed to do this step is around 1 or 2 hours, depending on the speed of the person, therefore, this step should be done while the program is downloading to not waste any time. THE ONLY TOOL USED FOR ALL THE NEXT STEPS ARE A LAPTOP 4) After the program has installed, go to finder, and double click on Adobe Flash. Skip the part where the email address is needed. It will take 3 minutes approximately for the program to open and for the email part to be skipped, depending on the speed of the laptop used. This step is important because the game cannot be created if the program isnt open. 5) When the program opens, 3 things will appear: A timeline at the bottom, a toolbar/settings at the right hand side and a list of options in the middle. Next, in the middle box of the list of options, click on the second option which is ActionScript 2.0. The only tool needed to get this step done is the laptop. This step is necessary because thats how the game will be created. It will take around 30 seconds to click on the second button. 6) After doing the step above, a blank page will appear. The color of the background needs to be changed. To do so, in the Setting box, click on Properties, another box will appear, there will be another Properties heading. Under that Properties heading, there will be an option with the name Stage. A white box while lay next to it. Click on the white box and pick a background color. The chosen color will replace the previous white one. This step is needed because it would be boring if a game had a plain boring white background. This will take around one minute. 7) At the bottom, there will be a set of lines with numbers at the top. Between each line and line, there is a frame. Right click on the very first frame and a small menu list will appear, follow the arrow and scroll down. Click on the last option, which is Actions. A box will appear, in the white space, type stop (); and then press on the check sign above it and then close that box. This step is necessary because without typing that, the game will go on continuously, not even stopping for a second. It will take around one minute to do this step. 8) Click on the left handside, which reads TIMELINE. Decide how many frames (pages) are needed to create the game. After deciding, click on a frame and click on Insert Blank Keyframe and do that to as many frames as needed. For each frame, click on actions just like already done in the step above and re-type Stop ();, basically

Raghad Al-Ansari Technology, Plan 23/11/13 re-do that part of the step. This is necessary because more than one frame will be needed to complete the game. This will take around two minutes. 9) Go back to the first frame and click on it. On the left handside, there will be T, click on that to add text. Click and drag the textbox on the background, make it as small or as big as needed. Type in a title, in this case Super Speller. Highlight the written text, click on Text from the choices above. The first option will be Size, click on that and choose any size. This step is important because the game wont look good if the text was over-sized or under-sized. This step will take around 1 minute. 10) To change the color, highlight the text and under the Properties box, there will be Character, under that, click on Color and pick any color. Add another textbox and type in Start, change the color by doing the same step as already done. This step is important because the game wouldnt look nice if the color of the text didnt suit the backgrounds color. This will take 2 minutes. 11) To make Start into a button, go on the right hand side to the selection tool, right click on Start. Afterwards, go down the white menu that will appear and click on Covert Symbol. Write Start for the name and click on OK. A circle will appear on Start, showing that its a button. Right click on Start and go down to actions, and type in on (release) { gotoandstop(2); } and then close it. This step is needed to be able to go to the next frame after clicking on Start. This will take around 3 minutes. 12) Go to the second frame and a textbox and type in the question. Basically repeat all the steps above from now on and add how many textboxes needed for the questions and choices of answers. To change the color, do as mentioned above. To change the font, do as mentioned above. To make something a button and then have it move on to the next frame, do as mentioned above. Do this to all frames until the game is complete. This, in fact, is more than one step because this will be done to all the next frames. This step is important because without it, there will be no questions to the game/quiz and that wouldnt even be considered as a game/quiz. This will take around 3 hours. 13) To add sound to the game, go online and find the different types of sounds you want to use. Eg: The constant sound, the wrong answer sound and the correct answer sound. Next, copy the link of the sound and go on http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ and paste it into the empty box and click on convert video. The sound will appear in the laptops Download section. This step is necessary because one cannot have proper, professional sounds without downloading them first. This step will take around 5 minutes to do. 14) Change all the sounds downloaded to .aiff from .mp3. This is done by double clicking on each sound and re-naming it. This is because mp3 wont work on Adobe Flash. It will cause errors. This step will take around one minute. 15) Import the sound by going to File, Import and Import to library. Next, find the file and insert it by double clicking on Open. To add more sounds, add layers by clicking on the very left button at the bottom. This step is necessary because a game would be boring without sound, it wouldnt be alive. This will take around 3 minutes to do.

Raghad Al-Ansari Technology, Plan 23/11/13 Evaluation of the Plan: (Response Text, Future tense)
1. Could someone feasibly create your product/solution using this plan and your design? Justify your answer!

I will ask three people to check out my plan. If two out of the three people rate it as 5/5, then I will know that my design is feasible and easy to follow.
The question I will ask them What do you think of my steps? Do you think you can feasibly create a quiz game, using my plan and why? Please rate it out of 5.

Answers 1) Kaltham:

2) Muneera: (there is a mistake in the name)

3) Lea:

As seen in the replies above, all three people said that my steps are detailed. Also, all three of them rated it as a 5/5. That clearly means that my steps are clear, precise, logical and feasible.

Raghad Al-Ansari Technology, Plan 23/11/13 2. Discuss your time estimates and the total time you will need to complete the project? The total time I will need to complete my project is around 5 hours and 26 minutes. I dont work on Fridays because it is Family Day. I can work on Saturdays for one hour. I dont work in holidays. I will work in every class which means Ill have 6 classes to work on it but that doesnt mean Ill have 6 hours because I will also give time to do my process journal. I can work at home for 1 hour in a school day. I think that this is enough time to complete the project. If it wasnt enough time, I will increase the amount of hours in school days per week.

3. What strategies will you use to make sure you have enough time to complete your project? The strategies I will use to make sure I have enough time to complete my project are time management and organization. By time management, I mean that I will not waste my time. For example, I will not go on a social network and chat with my friends in between working. Instead, I will work continuously. By organization, I mean that I will have everything organized and not try to do the project last minute.
