InMath Installation
Step 1: InDesign CS3/InCopy CS3 Preferences Make sure that Adobe InDesign CS3 / Adobe InCopy CS3 is not running. Quit the application if necessary. We recommend that you rename or move the application preferences to a different place. The preference file is called "InDesign Defaults" or rather "InCopy Defaults". Youll find this preference file after a standard installation in the following folder: Windows Vista: "<your harddisk>/Users/<your name>/AppData/Roaming/ Adobe/InDesign [or rather InCopy]/Version 5.0" Windows XP: "<your harddisk>/Documents and Settings/<your name>/ Application Data/Adobe/InDesign [or rather InCopy]/Version 5.0" MAC: "<your harddisk>/Users/<your name>/Library/Preferences/Adobe/ InDesign [or rather InCopy]/Version 5.0". Please dont forget to empty the recycle bin. Please keep in mind that deleting the preferences will also reset some general preferences to the factory presets, for example the standard size for sub- and superscripted characters. However, this happens only in new documents, not in existing ones. Step 2: Installing The InMath Plug-Ins You have received a compressed archive of your InMath plug-ins. Please decompress this archive and copy the complete InMath plug-ins folder into the plug-in folder of your InDesignCS3 or rather InCopyCS3 installation.

Step 3: License File

In order to make use of the InMath functions you need an InMath license file. This file is named InMath.lic (case-sensitive!), was sent to you separately and must be stored in the following folder: On Macintosh: into the InDesign CS3 / InCopy CS3 application folder, after a standard installation usually <your harddisk>/Applications/Adobe InDesign CS3 and <your harddisk>/Applications/Adobe InCopy CS3, respectively. On a Windows-based machine:into the same folder as all the other InMath plug-ins (e.g. mm.ms.im.Kernel.pln) If the plug-ins are installed correctly, but only the license file InMath.lic is missing, InDesignCS3/InCopyCS3 will start up in Reader mode. This means, that you can open and print documents with InMath data as usual, but that you cant use any InMath command or InMath editing function. We strongly recommend that you make a backup of your InMath license file and keep this at a safe place. If this document is deleted inadvertently or corrupted for any reason, please request a new one directly from us.

Thats it! Relaunch InDesignCS3/InCopyCS3, and InMath is at your disposal.

Fonts
InMath 1.7.6 doesn't depend on fonts. You can use any font in any style you want. However, there are very few fonts that can not be used with InMath or rather show up unsatisfying results. If you encounter such a font, we kindly ask you to send us an e-mail to inmath@itip-gmbh.eu . You may want to have a look at the OpenType font "UniMath" by Applied Symbols, which follows also the Unicode standard, in order to decide whether or not this font is suitable for you.

Installation On A MAC
Here you can see at a glance where the InMath files need to be copied to. Please dont forget to copy the InMath license file InMath.lic into the actual application folder and not into any plug-in folder. You got the license file separately, probably compressed as InMath.zip. For InCopy(CS3), this applies analogously.
