I recently did a kiteboarding trip with a group of professional and non-professional riders to a remote part of the planet. The 11 day trip, far removed from the comfort of our familiar kiteboarding venues, delivered an experience both raw and enlightening. When it was all said and done, it reinforced a belief that Ive held since we started Cabrinha Kiteboarding: Pros and non-pro riders want the exact same thing from a kiteboarding brand. In a huge industry first, Cabrinha has managed to internalize the IDS landing line into the main depower line. The landing line now occupies its own chamber alongside the depower main line for added protection and a streamlined interface. With the all new internal IDS security system, Cabrinha makes good on its promise that performance and security are no longer mutually exclusive. The all new internal Intelligent Depower System (IDS) puts the industry leading 4 line security right at your fingertips when you need it and out of your way when you dont. Weve internalized the landing line to protect it from the elements and to simplify the control system. The new IDS landing line is virtually invisible while riding but right there when you need it.

MULTIBORE TUBING

OVERSLIDE
The all new OverSlide stopper unit is a sliding system that allows the rider to temporarily let go of the control system to unspin the twists in their control lines. It also serves as a means to contain the bungeed power adjusters. OverSlide is designed to slide out of the way when forcefully pushed with the control system. OverSlide can be positioned anywhere on the main depower line and the rider can choose their desired sliding tension. The all new OverSlide IDS now gives you the freedom to spin your bar when and where you want along the depower main line. You can choose the release tension and position Overslide where you want.

The 2010 Powerdrive IDS control system has a redesigned set of floating EVA bar ends. The new ends will accommodate more flying line and provide better line management before and after your riding session. SPRINT RAPID INFLATION SYSTEM

The Sprint* inflation system is a simple to use feature to quickly inflate your kite to an even pressure. The Sprint system uses a single inflation point to connect your high volume, two way Cabrinha pump. As you pump your kite with air, all struts and your leading edge inflate quickly and simultaneously to the desired pressure. The supplied leash pump and threaded valve connection keeps your kite under control even when pumping up directly in the wind. Once the kite is pumped you can choose to clip off, or isolate the air contained in the struts. This way if you damage a strut while in use, the rest of the kite will continue to maintain its pressure. At the end of the session you can choose to deflate your kite completely by disengaging the strut air clips, or you can keep your struts inflated and put your kite away rolled up so that the next session will take just minutes to set up.

SURF FINS

Cabrinha has developed a set of fins specifically for the Cabrinha Surfboards. The materials, foils, and templates are all designed around the demands of kitesurfing. Both the Tri and Quad fin sets have been re-foiled to increase tip flex and response. The fins are cut from fiberglass plate to increase durability. The bases have all been milled to reduce weight and to ease mounting to the Future fin system.

STORY The Sync Binding has opened up an entirely new way of connecting to the board. For 2010 we have focused on ergonomics, durability, and ease of use. By utilizing new construction methods and materials from the shoe industry we have made the new Sync lighter, stronger, and more user-friendly. The tongue is more stable due to the integration of the side-walls and the lacing pattern. The laces are more durable and easier to use and the new lace lock is purpose built and much more durable. STORY The CO-AX footstrap is a full coverage, fully supported footstrap which can quickly adjust to different foot sizes. The new Co-ax has added padding in the arch for an even more comfortable ride. It is made with durable nylon, neoprene and EVA. The 3D foot-beds have been designed with performance, ease of use, and is lightweight. The 3d shaping of the foot-bed cradles the foot and reduces fatigue with its soft molded EVA. The S-Quad is a purpose built board for high performance surfing. The S-Quad is a four finned epoxy board made to surf fast and hard. This lowers both front control lines to the top of the CAS for more direct steering response. Use of the Pro Bar system deactivates the 2 stage IDS de-power and requires manual activation of IDS in the case of emergency or self landing. Schools can also use this system to activate IDS automatically upon letting go of the control bar (during un-hooked body drags). This set up requires simply attaching the kite leash directly to the ring on the manual IDS activation grab loop.
